Salisbury, MD ... Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver announced today that Wayne Strausburg, Director of Administration, is retiring from county service effective May 29, 2020. Mr. Strausburg has been an employee of Wicomico County since February, 2012.
Mr. Culver commented, "I am appreciative of the service rendered by Wayne to the citizens of Wicomico County and wish him well in his retirement."
It's about damn time. Weston is a better fit for the County anyway. Just my own personal opinion.
ReplyDeleteBOB made a bad mistake when he hired that POS leftover... Sorry but that's the TRUTH. It's like how Trump kept Obama bastard rats around.
DeleteYup.
DeleteWayne got what he wanted. Taxpayers stuck with paying his retirement and medical for life.
ReplyDeleteThe county doesn’t pay post employment retirement. The employees pay it through payroll deduction while they are working. Big misconception.
DeleteYes they do.
DeleteThis is long over due.
ReplyDeleteThat will be a nice pension.
ReplyDeleteWhat will Cannon do now that he won't be able to get inside information.
ReplyDeleteGood question!
DeleteMaybe Bob will hire cannon ? Lol pathetic.
DeleteWestin has no experience. Hire a real county administrator!!
ReplyDeleteWeston is one of the smartest people the county has on staff
DeleteHo Lee Crab.

Ole chinese guy say ed zackary
Exactly! Need a Leader!
ReplyDeleteMarch 9, 2020 at 11:18 AM I believe there is a county matching portion.
ReplyDelete11:18 - check your facts! Is that you Wayne?
ReplyDeleteWhen you retire the actuary sends you your retirement check. The county pays zilch towards retirement once you retire. Facts.
DeleteAs I recall, Bob ran on replacing Wayne. Instead he kept him so he got his 5 years of vesting. Wayne is a legend in his own mind.
ReplyDeletePlease resist the urge to put a chameleon yes man in this position

I wonder how many comments are going to be from Wayne? You know he reads this blog every day.

Intelligence and experience are two different things. This county needs someone with both.
Thank you Wayne for your service to Wicomico County. Enjoy your retirement.
ReplyDeleteI also wonder why Bob waited so long. He knew going into the Co. Executive job that he was a holdover from the Pollitt era. He's been divisive, a hot head, and is also syncophant. Which makes me now question Bob's judgement.
ReplyDeleteHope Bob doesn't compound the County's six year loss by filling that position with a young neophyte lacking real life experience. What is it with these public service hires that experience is ignored?
ReplyDeleteHow many Directors does the govt need ?? Trim the FAT !!!
ReplyDeleteGovt Beurocracy ridicoulous !!!
He is the highest paid in the county except circuit court judges and the S/A. And I agree Weston would be a good fit. He has been doing SNOBSBURG job since he was appointed. This is great early spring news. I just hope Hawknose Hollo and Cannonslum get off their a$$ and appoint him when Bob tosses in his name.Watching the council meetings as of late reminds me of the old Hee Haw show with Hawknose Hollo as JR Sample and Cannon as Buck Owens.
ReplyDeleteWishing Wayne a happy, healthy and enjoyable retirement. One that he so deserves. Thank you for all of your leadership.
ReplyDeleteRelics are for museums. Buh bye Wayne

I have a feeling that 5:51 PM and 9:20 PM are the same person. Possibly Shitzburg himself.
