Rashida Tlaib urges Federal Reserve to bail out bankrupt Detroit and Puerto Rico

Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib told Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell that he “has the authority” to bail out the governments of Detroit and Puerto Rico.

“My city filing for bankruptcy was devastating to so many retirees, sir. Forty, 50 years they worked for the city of Detroit, saw their pensions completely diminished, gone,” Tlaib said to Powell during a House Financial Services Committee hearing.

“Do you not believe that the governments of Detroit and Puerto Rico also play a vital role that should be preserved even if a financial crisis makes it hard for them to borrow money?” she added.

Well now.. who elected (and re-elected) the officials that did that, Mzz. Tlaib? Trump? Mr. Powell?

WE have worked hard for 50 years too-- and not to bail out your pension fund or a very corrupt government in Puerto Rico.

  10. I don't think the US can continue to cover these governmental robberies. We are having a lot of trouble borrowing money to cover this Ponzi scheme that is the US government.

  13. Democrat politians created this problem and they should have been more responsible. They created this problem then they are responsible not the US tax payer.

Maryland is getting in the same predicament by the politians stealing from the State Employee Retirement Fund and not paying anything back and there is no interest paid on this theft. This is being done by the Democrats and Republicans
