High school teacher accused of sex offense with student in Anne Arundel Co.

EDGEWATER, Md. (WBFF) - A high school teacher in Anne Arundel County is accused of having sex with a teenager student.

Meredith Susan Barry Martin, 37, of Davidsonville, allegedly had "numerous sexual encounters" with the student, at South River High School in Edgewater.

Police responded to the school on Jan. 30 for a possible sex offense, according to a news release.

School administrators said they got information that a teenager and a teacher were "seen together initiating inappropriate contact."

Meredith Martin was immediately removed from having any contact with children. She is, however, still working in a position with the school system.
