Groundhog Day 2020: Here's what Punxsutawney Phil's prediction is for the rest of winter

As light snow fell early Sunday in western Pennsylvania, the Keystone State's most famous groundhog revealed that warmer days are apparently ahead.

At sunrise on Groundhog Day, members of Punxsutawney Phil's top hat-wearing inner circle revealed the groundhog declared: “Spring will be early, it's a certainty.”

"It's not very often that Phil predicts an early spring, but the groundhog, my friends, predicted an early spring," Fox News Senior Meteorologist Janice Dean said Sunday on "Fox & Friends" while in Miami for Super Bowl LIV.

  1. Been a nice winter. Warm. Like spring many days. Looks like some trees are showing signs of buds. Probably no good this early.
Flowers coming up in our yard also. Man was cutting his grass last week down our street!
Looks warm (for this time of year) at least another week or 2. Only rain to interrupt it.
In 1996....Today on 2-2-1996 we had 11.7 inches of snow!

  2. Why do they wake up that poor confused groundhog every year and scare him to death by holding him up in front of cheering people and cameras? So stupid.

  5. The new winter for our latitude is more warm compared to the late 1900s. Global warming is real and makes sense when one understands how aerosols work in the atmosphere. It also helps to learn about methane gas releasing from the ocean floor. Methane is a thousand times more effective at trapping heat (greenhouse affect) compared to carbon.

    3. The hole in the ozone layer of our atmosphere that was said years ago to be caused by the propellant in aerosol cans has been shrinking for a few years

    4. You really enjoy all that Kool-Aid, don't you? I'm still waiting to freeze to death from the 1970's ice age... check out Time Magazine's cover story about it...all this is BS...a way to control the masses and take their money...how many times will you believe "if you don't want to die from (fill in the blank), then do as WE say, not as WE do, and we will take your hard earned dollars too"

  6. February 2 is the first Sabat of witchcraft.
May Day is the second Sabat (sacred day of celebration / sacrifice).

The elites give the Goy “Groundhog Day” as an inside joke.

  9. Missive from P. Phil:
Man I have a great life here in Puxatawny. I live with my wife in this nice cozy burrow next to a nice quiet library. Regular meals and I don't have to worry about predators. I only have to work one day a year yet I am constantly being harassed by PETA types because of my great lifestyle. Will you snowflakes just buzz off and leave me alone.

Signed Mr. and Mrs. Puxatawny Phil

PS. 11:06 and 11:55 suck it and quit trying to blow my great gig, even Bernie doesn't have it this good.

  11. Breaking news from Fox News: Sen. Chuck Schumer in conjunction with Speaker Nancy Pelosi have issued a joint statement calling for a full investigation into the Trump re-election campaign regarding Trump operatives secretly replacing the American groundhog with a Russian counterpart named Syergi Ionovich Groundhog, a know former KGB operative with the intent to disrupt weather patterns in the Eastern Seaboard region to influence voter turnout. Congressman Andy Schiff chimed in stating, “the wonton and shameful acts of this administration against an American tradition must be addressed with a formal inquiry just as soon as Congressman Nadler lets me finish my statement to closing arguments for the current impeachment of the President”

When reached for comment, the President, currently and actually working for the American people replied, “BullSchiff”

More to come on twitter later

.... now just imagine if that was a Super Bowl add put out by Republicans!

  12. 4:25

    Oookaaaayy.

The Ozone hole is yet another example of junk science designed to cost you and me money.

If you REALLY study the science (or lack thereof) of the ozone hole theory, you will find it is as bad as Rachel Carson's alleged link of DDT to eagle eggs.

    Fake science!
