Sen. Sherrod Brown (D., Ohio) on Wednesday said Congress is not doing its job of redistributing income in a fair way.
"We know Congress isn't doing its job to redistribute income in any way that's fair to hundreds of millions of Americans, we know that," Brown said during a hearing at the Senate Banking Committee.
"Senator McConnell and the president have refused to raise the minimum wage, it's been stuck for 11 years at under eight dollars," Brown said. "They took away overtime for about 2 or 3 million Americans because of truncating the overtime rule, tax cuts for the rich, and now tax cuts for Medicare."

That is because we are not communists. It is not the primary task of Congress to redistribute anything.
ReplyDeleteIt's not your job to redistribute income a$$hole. Let people work and make their own income according to their skills.
ReplyDeleteThere has always been a disparity between the haves and the have nots and there will always be.Any responsible bean counter knows that.Anyone with the drive and intelligence to succeed realizes that a minimum wage job is a stepping stone to something better as opposed to a career. Those who choose to run their entire lives at idle speed are destined to remain in poverty.
ReplyDeleteOrganizing and collective bargaining would be a good start for narrowing the gap
ReplyDeletelet's status by given the pay of congressmen and senators away.
ReplyDeleteYou want to redistribute income then start with any Politian that has a net worth over 2 million, before any type of deductions, give that excess amount to the Federal Government to redistribute. Don't make me pay higher taxes so they can buy votes when I am barely surviving on my own.
ReplyDeletePeople need to know who they elect because congress is full of communists like this one.
ReplyDeleteForget the chicken in every pot BS. You either grow your own chicken, buy your own chicken, cook your own chicken or you get no damn chicken!! How easy is that?
ReplyDeleteWhen did it become Congress's job to "redistribute income".
ReplyDeleteI just checked my copy of the Constitution. I didn't see that.
Maybe SHE should try reading it.
Probably way too many words she can't understand are in it.
@944 You're an idiot. Not everyone can have a career.
