DAYTONA BEACH, FL (WJLA) — Days after a horrifying crash at the Daytona 500 that sent Ryan Newman to a hospital, the longtime Monster Energy Cup Series driver has been released.
Earlier Wednesday morning, Roush Fenway had posted on social media of him awake and active, standing and smiling with his two daughters at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
The racing group then stated at 1:43 p.m. Newman was treated and released from the hospital.

ReplyDeleteI can not imagine what his body feels like after that hit.
Glad to see this!

ReplyDeleteI wondered about that too - just socks
DeleteIf all cars were built that way.
ReplyDeleteYes amazing for sure
ReplyDeleteNot amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt is sports.
Wake up people.
Don't you have something better to do with your time?
Like educate yourselves?
Good for him. But the reporting has been puzzling. Serious injuries, but not life threatening?? Seems a little sensational.
ReplyDeleteGlad he appears to be okay, but he had surgery according to press reports, so somewhere there are bandages. Dont expect to see him racing this weekend.
ReplyDeleteSomething does not add up. Did the media make up his condition after the accident and we find out it was not that serious - or was it?
ReplyDeleteThank GOD he's OK.
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad to see that he is okay and able to stand there with his two daughters. That was one heck of a crash. Kudos to the designers of the safety features in those race cars.
ReplyDeleteAs a recent hospital graduate I can attest to being released in just socks. They put them on you to help avoid slips and fall. Looks like he got the custom racing yellow ones.
ReplyDeleteJust glad to see he walked out on his own.I was rooting for him on that last lap.
