BREAKING: KOBE BRYANT DIES IN HELICOPTER CRASH ... Daughter Also Killed

Kobe Bryant died in a helicoper crash in Calabasas Sunday morning ... TMZ Sports has confirmed.

Kobe was traveling with at least 3 other people in his private helicopter when it went down. A fire broke out. Emergency personnel responded, but nobody on board survived. 5 people are confirmed dead. We're told Vanessa Bryant was not among those on board.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Kobe has famously used a helicopter to travel for years -- dating back to when he played for the Lakers. He was known for commuting from Newport Beach, CA to the STAPLES Center in DTLA in his Sikorsky S-76 chopper.

White people in general will only associate with black athletes because of their fame and money. And black athletes fall for the okie doke. Look who was in the helicopter with them.

This is all totally blown out of wack. The man did not cure cancer. Never fought for my freedom. Fought against it actually with his political views.
He Is by no means due this "hero worship".
If people believe he's this great, the we should have a funeral larger than this for every serviceman that is killed in the line of duty protecting our right to be free.
This worship of a sports player, is a disgrace to our armed forces and others that really did things to help this country be safe and free.

I want to preface my statement with this: I fully support our troops, FULLY. But your thought process is incorrect. Growing up in a time where Kobe Bryant was in his prime and playing basketball, he did do a lot for individuals. Maybe not directly, as in he personally facilitated a good deed for anyone(though I know for a fact through plenty of media personalities he did personally conduct deeds for individuals on his own). But he was in the spotlight and gave individuals hope and dreams of working hard to achieve your goal. If you put in the work, everything is possible. That was how he lived, he stated this many times. You take the opposite view as if it is some disservice to other individuals that they are not widely celebrated like Kobe when he passed. But the truth is, there are very few people on this planet who are as widely known as Kobe Bryant. That is World Wide. But I am an individual who he impacted and can say there are plenty of people like me out there. It's not disrespectful to others to celebrate someone's life because they had such a broad impact.

Debating whether athletes are overpaid is another discussion. They bring in millions of dollars to their teams and companies that endorse them. They are no more overpaid than CEOs and owners of companies who help make their board of directors extremely rich...supply and demand is a simple concept. The supply of extremely talented athletes who can do the things some of them do is very limited, therefore the demand is very high...

Secondly, there are many tributes to military members and first responders on a daily basis. Why is it a negative that Kobe Bryant is celebrated in his death?

You are in denial. She didn't lie, and Kobe admitted that everything she said was true (events)and apologized to her and her family. I believe the facts as they were published and confirmed at the time. After she was offered 2.5 million to refuse to testify at the trial, the prosecutor dropped the charges, mid-trial. Yes even though your idol claimed it was "consensual," he admitted that he did actually strangle her during the encounter (which the physical evidence supported)and said strangling women during sex was "his thing." You are a low life if your idol is people like him. You will excuse your athletic overpaid idols for anything, including rape. Funny that many athletes are charged with rape (and domestic violence, and even murder). Seems to happen often. Apparently, like you, they think their "status" allows them to do things that others can't do, and that are illegal. Your defense of him and your libelous claim against his victim shows what kind of person YOU are. It's not pretty.

I don't agree. Everyone has to go sometime. We don't get to choose when or how, unless we do ourselves in. I would rather to have 15 seconds of sheer terror, and then be over without any pain, than to suffer a long and painful death, like with disease. If Kobe felt anything, it was for only a second, if even that. It was his "time" and no amount of money could change that. Ironically, if it wasn't for his money, he wouldn't have been taking a helicopter ride to a high school basketball game, in dense fog, to avoid highway traffic. Sometimes you have to wonder if there's anything to that Karma thing.

Though his acts are not excusable, rape was never proven. What he admitted to (it is on video) was a consensual act that he regretted. He mistreated a young woman, he disrespected his wife. Not debatable. That doesn't take away from the person he became. By all accounts a great father. This low life helped over 200 Make-A-Wish children. This lowlife personally helped a previous teammate overcome addiction that almost took his life. This low life started his own charity to help impoverished kids in Los Angeles. There are other positive ways he impacted the world...I could continue. But I have a feeling that won't change your mind because he is "an entitled overpaid athlete." I am sure you would feel the same way if your ability helped a company to be worth billions of dollars.

I am not the individual who made the original post, I did not call the individual a liar. I am simply saying you can do bad things and also learn and grow to have positive impact on society.

RealRay, you are wrong in defense of your idol. "YOU'RE" the idiot (I know how to spell). The charges were not dropped because the victim had sex after the rape. Any normal person knows that is ridiculous. That is just not true, and shows how little you know about the facts. The charges were dropped because the victim refused to testify at the trial. He ADMITTED that he strangled her during the act (forcible rape) but said strangling women during sex was "his thing" and thought it was consensual. Of course when he admitted he had sex with the victim and that he strangled her (hence the physical evidence of bruising on her neck after the assault), it was an admission of adultery, as well. It was way more than simply cheating on his wife, or it would have never gone to trial. You are one naive person to be calling someone a snowflake. You don't have any idea what the facts are. It was rape, and he paid $2.5 million to get the victim to refuse to testify. You should stay away from the keyboard if you don't know what you're talking about. And yet you call people idiots. Look in the mirror, RealRay, look in the mirror.

You conveniently don't defend the "rape that was not proven" fact of the "consensual" sex producing the bruises on the victim's neck, and Kobe admitting that it was "his thing" to strangle his sex partners during sex. All part of his admissions. I guess you bought Kobe's story hook line and sinker, and decided the victim liked to be strangled during sex. It's not what you rebut, but what you don't want to talk about that tells the most. It was rape, by the very definition of the word. Forcible sex. Sex that left injuries. And because your hero says it was consensual, and paid the victim 2.5 million to refuse to testify, it makes it all okay, right? "Mistreated" her??? If it was your daughter, you would be screaming rape at the top of your lungs (until you got paid). I didn't call Kobe a low life. Never thought he was. I called his defender a low life for defending and mis-representing Kobe's actions. Yes. Kobe went on to do many good and charitable things with his time and great wealth that came from being an entitled overpaid athlete. He made more money than any human being and their heirs could ever spend in their lifetimes. He couldn't take all that money with him (and he didn't). Most people will give the money away before the government takes it away in taxes for programs the wealthy don't support. Giving away wealth that you can't possibly spend, to causes you support, is what all wealthy people do. Kobe was no saint for that. It's called tax planning and public relations. Accountants tell the wealthy how much they have to give away to keep the government from getting it. All the wealthy have to do is tell the accountant what causes to send the money to. Most people have no idea what motivates wealthy people. Most people just think wealthy people are like rich people (Big difference. Rich people are greedy and never have enough money). Rich people give wealthy people a bad name. I personally know both. I wouldn't give two nickles to rub elbows with a rich person, but the wealthy people I know are the most generous and gracious people in the world. They can afford to be...and are. Just so you know, I like what Kobe BECAME, and recognize the many good things he did with his wealth. But it in no way erases what he did to that woman, and the criminality of his act. Those who make excuses and deny what he did, are the low lifes.

    January 28, 2020 at 2:50 PM:

Bad Karma for doing what most people would not do, even if they had the money. His ego was so big that getting to that high school basketball game was worth any risk and money. "HE" was cleared for takeoff even when the police helicopters were grounded for their safety. But a ultra-rich celebrity basketball Star was on board and demanded to go to the game, even in foggy conditions that other pilots would avoid, especially in a helicopter. He was used to spending his money to have his way (whether with women, or with helicopter pilots). Yes, I do believe it was Karma. His ego and expecting everything and everybody to serve him and his whims did him in, along with his daughter and 7 others. He didn't want his daughter to miss the game...but she did. And I hope the last thing he said to his daughter was "I'm so sorry baby. It wasn't supposed to end like this." He got his way, and they all died. There's a lesson in all this, but it won't make sense to you.

You are correct, I don't understand your point at all...he is entitled because he used his own money that he earned to take a helicopter ride on a helicopter he purchased so that he and everyone else aboard (who also got a helicopter ride for free) could avoid traffic and attend their game? Again, he was allowed to take off. You are blaming his ego for a helicopter crash. One that is still being investigated. If the report shows there was a helicopter malfunction, what do you say then? Get a life.
