After learning of the re-enrollment of a registered sex offender at Parkville High School, County Executive John Olszewski Jr. and state elected officials pledged action.
"It quickly became clear to all of us... that in order to make the changes necessary, we would need the support of state lawmakers," Olszewski said at a press conference. "Every child deserves to feel and be safe in their school and every parent deserves to know that we're doing everything we can to keep them safe."
State Sen. Kathy Klausmeier said she intends on introducing legislation aimed at barring sex offenders from schools across the state.
