Picture taken at 2:45 pm Tuesday, 8/6/2019. - These cars just missed the green light onto Carroll Street and immediately created this back-up on Waverly Drive for the Mayor's Bike Lane. Each direction on Waverly Drive is now and forever a single lane. This back-up/bike lane will easily block the entrance into the Emergency Room at PRMC and imagine what the back up will be at 5PM or when schools let out.
Posted 8/5/19 on Facebook by a PRMC physician:
Does the City of Salisbury plan on distributing a printed list of instructions detailing what to do if one finds himself in the unfortunate circumstance of traveling north on Waverly Drive? That paint job appears to be a drug-induced collaboration between Rube Goldberg and Pablo Picasso. If anyone finds me stopped in the middle of the street sobbing on my steering wheel, please help me out of the car and escort me safely to the curb.
COMMENTS:
Be careful what you ask for; you may be inviting vehicular euthanasia...; )
I saw someone weaving through cones last week.
It’s just stupid!
As a cyclist, I understand and appreciate what they were TRYING to do. It just seems like the execution is lacking. Maybe there's more paint to come which will clarify it all.
I agree but what I can’t understand is that cars have an inside leasing lane now... and we know that’s outside of being intelligent
I thought the same thing! Crazy
Jacob Day gave a full explanation on someone else's wall. All will work out. Stay safe
I guess one has to be a Facebook friend of that person to see what's on his wall. I guess I'll just have to be patient and not kill any pedestrians in the meantime.
I was JUST talking about that crazy paint job! What in the world!?!?
Love Jacob Day.. but the execution of good thinking wasn’t carried out.
Jacob Day responds: Wrong. Politicians don’t engineer streets. And the engineers did a fine job following the law. The construction isn’t complete.
I know that! It wasn’t an attack at all... u know me better than that!! I would do a public thing with that... I just think it’s crazy
Sounds like we need more patience, grasshopper.
I have none.
Jacob Day responds: oh ok I got tagged so it seemed directed at me. I know we’re cool! My point is it isn’t a crazy or confusing design, it’s just not complete. That said, when complete, it will be a design that forces cars to slow down.
Separate argument ... crazy that we need to tell people to slow down.... in a residential area..... these people are stupid
it is a shame. But I will say this, while people should take responsibility for their speed, when a street is safe to move down at 25 mph but is designed to signal to drivers that it should be maneuvered at 50 mph, whose fault is it when they drive 50 mph? We can design streets to be safer. Yes, it will slow us down and people will be aggravated... but it will save lives.
It’s not complete. This is stage 1.
Jacob Day responds: It’s in the middle of construction. When the contractor is done it will be crystal clear: it’s a standard 2-lane street, removing the old weaving pattern and compliant with the new State Vision Zero Law. The bike lanes (temporarily stripe-separated) will he separated with physical barriers.
Mayor Day, thanks for coming on here and putting us all at ease! What's the timeline for completion?
Jacob Day responds: I’m not, sure since the contractors are not bound to complete projects within days. That said, our team will step in tomorrow if they aren’t done and will drop more cones in the interim until complete. The work that remains, I believe, includes all of the thermoplastic lane indicators, the final striping near Carroll, the vertical signage, the zebra barriers that go on top of the diagonal striping to keep cars out of the bike lanes and the vertical barriers to keep cars from turning into the bike lanes accidentally. I’ll share examples of those images in a second.
Jacob Day responds: And the zebra/zicla barriers are intended to be temporary here as the striped area will eventually be replaced with curbed, planted medians.
I use Waverly multiple times a day, but since this started I am using Rt. 13 more. Seems it will work when finished, but right now I feel every one is confused and I am taking an alternate route.
Yup. I kept swerving back and forth between the “sections” bc I couldn’t figure out where I was supposed to be. I know the people behind me had to think I was drunk.
I slowed down to 10 MPH.. Not sure if this was the best thing to do!
Catering to Bikes the rest of us be dammed
ReplyDeleteWish they would enforce traffic laws like they should, bikes running traffic lights, not stopping for stop signs
failing to yield, doing whatever gets in their little bike person head
At night no lights of any kind big problem
paint a lane won't fix stupid
Because of global warming
Deleteall vehicles should be banned
everyone needs a bycycle to go to the grocery store, work, vacations, ect
I support Bike lanes, but this project is beyond stupid. The ratio of cars to bikes is probably 300 to 1. Why should .03 of the vehicles get all that roadway real estate?
ReplyDelete300 to 1 my ass, more like 3000 to 1
DeleteOMG, just another freaking mess like they did in the park. Nothing more than accidents waiting to happen. Those in kindergarten can plan better than this mess.
ReplyDeleteA local news report stated that the next in line for this kind of work is Carroll Street! I can't imagine.
ReplyDeleteI ride a bike and I’ll never ride down Waverly Drive again! This isn’t going to work even after it’s completed.
ReplyDeleteI left Wawa the other day and got caught up in the mess. That is another Fkg nightmare from the Fkg Libtard Jake Day.
ReplyDeleteHopefully this sh!t will cause him to lose his election.
Jake Day only cares about his bicycle buddies. Ridiculous bike lanes and bike paths.
ReplyDeletePOOR LIBS.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course Jake Day can’t take any criticism!!! So rude to people who have any opposition to these changes. Grow up Jake!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey tore up the southbound side of 13 (look at what used to be sidewalks) Why??? When are they going to fix it??
ReplyDeleteNow look at the northbound lane (tearing it up now). How about you fix the one side before you destroy the other.
Throw bike lanes on Waverly (alternate to get around the cluster that is going on on rt 13) just in time to snarl traffic worse. WTF!!!
The state does not control CITY streets. This is ALL on the city. They chose to do it and they chose to take the money to fund it with strings attached.
ReplyDeleteTo point out a truth, no Salisbury administration has even attempted to slow traffic on Waverly. In fact, the only thing that's been done over the years is to widen it several times, which only encouraged people to drive 40-50 mph past the residential district instead of the posted 35. We've lived in the district for over 25 years and have wondered why there's no speed control of any kind at a place where there are lots of residential cross streets, pedestrians and bicyclists.
ReplyDeleteit seems ALL OF THE CONSTRUCTION SBY does is NEVER COMPLETE... Think about that, and think on this, it took 3 god damn years to put in sidewalk on one side of 13 south from vinnies to the shopping center beside it... Downtown still is not finished and they rather work on that stupid light change to a stop sign bullshit with their rainbow crosswalks...
ReplyDeleteDear Morons,
ReplyDeleteBicycle lanes are not needed and are a huge waist of time and money. Did any of you take driver's education? Did you take a safe cycling class. I took both. Let me educate you:
Bicyclists must follow the same rules of the road as a motor vehicle operator.
Bicyclists, who are following those rules of the road, have right of way and motor vehicle operators must yield, as to a pedestrian.
Wear a helmet and ride your bicycle the way you are supposed to and all these ridiculous bicycle lanes can go away.
Clearly Gay Day and the engineer's who designed this ore more stupid than dirt... It is clear and factual that the slowing down, breaking and objects in the roadway such as these barriers and all of that is what causes accidents... Someone going 50 MPH is not a problem or a threat, just look at 50 and certain sections of 13, people go way to fast, over the speed limit and there are no problems... You people need to understand traffic patterns and traffic research that was done for years for things like this... They have a manual to called MUTC check it out...
ReplyDeletecrackheads use bikes 99.9% of the time, so we need to make room for all of them!
ReplyDeleteTraffic was horrible BEFORE they cut lanes.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteRoads are paid for by motorists. All other forms of travel are leeches since they don't contribute. Joke is out of control trying to turn the 'bury into his vision of Amsterdam.
We are spending a fortune on labor, paint, signage and other sundries to make half of the roadway unusable by cars, trucks and buses. There just is no, none, zilch, zero usage by bicycles on these set-asides.
Since the revamping of Mt. Hermon Rd. in front of Dove Pointe a few years back I have seen exactly three (3) bikers in all of my travels in the 'bury.
I'm not anti-bike and still own several going back several decades. That said, this top-down approach is financially wasteful and unsafe. Bikers do not follow traffic signals and patterns if it is inconvenient and this puts motorists at risk, and the biker in jeopardy.
Voters in the 'bury - you have the power to rein in this dictator.
There is not enough bike traffic to warrant these ridiculous lanes. They are never forced to go by MD laws and they do what they want. Police never enforce the law against the Bikes but are quick to charge a vehicle. Another ridiculous traffic congestion created by people with no common sense. Why do you have to cross a Bike lane to turn, which puts these Bikes in the middle of traffic. TOTAL STUPIDITY.
ReplyDeleteKeith Laird - it's a great idea just like putting a bike lane on route 50b. I have yet to see a bike there and I travel that road every day. Wasteful spending
ReplyDelete· Reply · 6h
City of Salisbury, Maryland - Keith Laird State Highway bike lanes are something the city has no control over, but as can be seen in our master plans is something we neither supported nor requested. We agree that bikes on highways is a bad idea.
--------------------
Jake Day is being deceitful in this comment as well. They do have control over state highways. Who investigates accidents on issues speeding citations on Rt. 50 and Rt. 13 in the City Limits?? Salisbury does.
Who encouraged the State to put in the bike lanes on Rt. 13 and Rt. 50 in the City Limits?? Jake Day did so this FB post by Jake Day proves he is a lying sack of Sh!t!! Vote him out of office.
Free bikes for everybody yesterday in the city park hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteIt will be a miracle if there isn’t a head on collision!
ReplyDeleteThis is actually quite funny. If you go on google maps a bike lane was already indicated on waverly as far back as 2015.
ReplyDeleteIt was painted on the street. Why was this not sufficient and we needed to alter it even more?
Is it because Jake took all the money out of he roads department for his 20 hr folked festival and the only way he was going to get any road work done was to put on this charade to make it look like he was actually doing something and grabbed the money from the state?
So he is re-bike lane-ing a road that was already bike-laned?
I can hear Muir Boda whining about how much Jake has done for the city and the only thing he can regurgitate is this ridiculous bike lane crap...
So you idiots paid twice to bike lane an already designated road. Not winning.
My question for the mayor is: HAVE YOU LOST YOUR FRIGGING MIND?
ReplyDeleteI rode past this yesterday evening and didn't see one bicycle in any of the lanes! It's a mess and will definitely cause traffic congestion for the few bikes that use this lane. Another case of the 1% taking away and inconveniencing the rights of others and the tax pay public!
Jake Day is totally out of control
ReplyDeleteHas this clown, Day, lost what little bit was left of his mind? Man, this jerk has got to go.
ReplyDelete2:21 You let him be out of control, so shut the hell up...
ReplyDeleteHey d'head @3:00 I didn't let him so squat!! I moved out of that s'hole 10 years ago but am forced to frequent due to elderly parents. It's disgusting what Jake Day is doing to Salisbury
Delete3:00 See what happens when you ASSume?😂

You better believe it. That Douche Bag attacked me recently on Social Media. Instead of correcting the problem and apologizing for the cities negligence he attacks the victims. Then sits back and takes it all in as his Band of Misfits attacks the victims as well. He eats that shit up and many of his misfit buddies don't even live in the city or pay city taxes.
Do not ever vote for Jake Day or a Democrat again.
Like stated by several others there's literally 1% if that bike traffic in Salisbury. Look at the traffic patterns he's accommodating. It's all revolving around SU and the college kids to allow bike traffic to and from SU and Jake Day's pipe dream of downtown Salisbury the spot to be. He's a total asswipe and needs a good kick in the ass
ReplyDeleteYou think this is bad, wait until they put the proposed traffic circle on Eastern Shore Drive by the Salvation Army. Don't believe me, check out the city council agenda a few months back

The job and the mission of the Republican Central Committee is to elect Republicans, not Democrats. Someone should report Muir Boda to the Maryland State Republican Central Committee. Muir Boda was elected to help elect Republicans, not Democrats and I don't want to hear some bullshit that the city election is non-partisan, that is Bullsh!t, Jake Day is a pure bread Democrat!!!

Gay Day is building a bike path from Downtown Salisbury through Waverly Drive right down to the University because college students might be renting rooms in that 13 story apartment building downtown. You know that out of place looking 13 story building. So much for "Historic Downtown Salisbury." Isn't that protected by law?
Only the parts he isnt involved with have to deal with the crazy stipulation. The plaza is the most historic part of salisbury and he is about to let contractors to tear it up paid for by you.
DeleteI rarely ever see anyone riding bicycles in this Ghetto town. The only ones I see are the few ghetto thugs at Bennett or WiHi that stole bikes. Most of them walk to school instead of riding bikes. No sane white person is going to ride a bike in this ghetto town.
ReplyDeleteBuild it and they will come. Wrong, we aren't talking about baseball.
If you idiots elect Jake Day for mayor you deserve what you get.
"Jacob Day responds: Wrong. Politicians don’t engineer streets. And the engineers did a fine job following the law."

It’s not a great situation for hospital employees and patients, 90% or whom park in the back lots and garages that are primarily accessed via Waverly. The only people I see on bikes in that area are hobos, vagabonds and drug couriers. Idiot idea with an execution that is even dumber
ReplyDeleteJust another stupid move on the part of Jake the Flake. As busy as that road is and they break it down to one lane. Where did he find the person who designed this (on a New York runway). Just like the new design at the Zoo. When are the people of Salisbury going to realize that our town needs a new mayor. Pleaseeeeeeeeeee, do not vote for him, get him out of here.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone sued Jake Day for removing fencing thereby causing the drowning deaths in river walk yet?
ReplyDeleteJake Day is typical progressive liberal and he's literally forcing all the car traffic away from his pet project creating downtown into a social free for all for his friends and the SU crowd. The sad thing is he's really ridden the back of saliSalisbu be taxpayers to pay for all his fantasies. You all that have the right to vote in the city election better get his ASS outta there
ReplyDelete@8:51 he's typical progressive forcing his green mentality and making all of Salisbury downtown to use bicycles. Damn you wpuld think the idiot learned after the orange bicycles failure
ReplyDeleteJake Day needs to go try for mayor of Rehoboth Beach. He would fit in better there. They would love to have our lovely rainbow crosswalks. That would be a perfect match.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to Salisbury Neighborhood Services and Code Compliance? I see a ton of code violations in Ghetto'bury!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Jake keep pissing off the people that actually work and suplosu Salisbury financially ( doctors, nurses, contractors at hospital) and pacify the welfare, illegals and college kids. Grow up jaJa you're not in a fraternity any longer
ReplyDeleteALL these Damn Bike lanes need to be made ILLEGAL !!!!
ReplyDelete& REMOVED !!!! Govt should be Liable for any accidents
caused by them too !!!!
They are Clearly put in the Worst places & the most
ReplyDeleteDangerous locations where there is NO Room for them !!!!
ie in from of SU on rt 13
in front of main post office on rt 50 In-saine !!!!
We Need NO BIKE roads & NO BIKE ZONES in certain
locations NOT more bike lanes !!!!
They endanger motor traffic & their Stupid selves !!!!!
I guess the engineers who designed this abomination were following the drunken, over promising politicians directions. They forgot to take the 2 left turn lane signs down at Carroll street and the truck behind me today almost yot hit by a car turning g left from the right lane. All done to appease the what 2 or 3 bikers who ride on Waverly? The broken yellow line in The bike lane is for what, 2 way bike traffic? Stoopid!
ReplyDeleteGreat placement of the warning sign at the intersection of south blvd and Waverly. If you are making a right onto waverly you have to pull out far enough to miss the sign and almost hit traffic coming the other way.
ReplyDeleteYou guys better watch out in Salisbury. Jake Day and Muir Boda have been discussing passing stricter gun legislation in da 'Bury. They said if they get re-elected it's a Dunn Deal!

That's a good question. I'm about sick and tired of driving through Ghetto'bury and seeing grass growing up in the streets and sidewalks. I am sick and tired of seeing cars parked on the front lawns of rental properties. I am about sick and tired of seeing sofas and other home furniture on the front porches. What the Hell happened to code enforcement?? Doesn't Jake Day know all these code violations are running this damn city into the ground??
But Wait everyone!! I keep hearing that Jake Day is doing such great things for this city!! Funny thing is no one can tell us what the great things are?? It's definitely not in the neighborhoods!! Salisbury has become more of a Ghetto under Jake Day's watch!! FACT!!
I hope a Motorist SUES the hell out the Govt for any
ReplyDeleteaccidents caused by these Insaine Bike Lanes !!!
ALL the Govt's Liability & Fault for a Bad Design !!!!
& Ignoring our calls to Fix it !!!!
Call the director of operations Tom Stevenson. This falls under his job description to maintain the city streets. Oh that's right he's another one of Jake Day's butt buddies and it's that time of year folks all the help and resources are directed to the f** festival
ReplyDeleteAnyone gets a chance go by the exxon on 50 and truitt street and ask the cashier what happened to him trying to ride his bike to work! He basically got run over and left for dead on the road all busted up
ReplyDeleteThe IDIOTS who put these Illegal Lanes in, where they
ReplyDeletedo NOT belong , will be the ones SUED someday !!!
They need a Lesson in COMMON SENSE !!!
I went to the Rt. 50 post office this morning and when I left I came out on Church Street and I can't believe how many sofas were on the front porches. I thought that was against the city code? Don't we have code compliance officers anymore?
ReplyDeleteIn the Independent yesterday, he is claiming to have brought 2500 jobs to Salisbury? Is he counting day labor, pun intended, and Uber drivers?
ReplyDeleteThis morning I heard the trash man outside so I looked out the window and it was the recycle trash man. He took my blue recycle box and slung it across my driveway from the other side of the rode. No damn wonder every blue box in my neighborhood is destroyed. Jake Day do your damn job and discipline these lazy ass employees who are costing us unnecessary $ Millions of dollars every year.
ReplyDeletePlease, someone, run against that Progressive Pu$$ so we don't have to deal with him for another 4 years. #MakingItHappen
That would be too Stevenson responsibility. Jake day tried to find a place to hide him from futhfur embarrassment but I guess the director of operations is too much as well. WTF do these department heads get paid to do stroke Jake Day's ego? If that the case Stevenson wins hands down. I've never seen one person make a career out of ass biting like this dude has

What will be the recurring costs of replacing these thermoplastic lane separators after a snow plow destroys them?
ReplyDeletethe engineer's probably never designed a bike lane in their life. And day being day falls for any kind of snake oil someone is selling. This bike lane is going to turn out as well as everything else he's done. It will fail just like the moronic folk festive the dopey mayor was sole.
ReplyDeleteI admit I'm a democrat. But I will be voting for whatever Republican runs against Jake Day. What he is doing to Salisbury is absolutely heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteI'm tired of driving through the streets of Salisbury and seeing people park their cars on the grass or in the front yards. Doesn't anyone do code enforcement in this damn ghetto anymore??
ReplyDeleteJake the Flake has Salisbury in such a damn mess. Everywhere you go, orange this, orange that, roads that will tear your vehicle up. Absolutely ridiculous. Please people, think with your damn head and remember all this crap when its time to vote and vote this idiot out.
ReplyDeleteJust fix the roads... rt 13 is terrible
ReplyDeleteIf you post something on social media about Salisbury And Jake Day finds it he goes beserk and we laugh our asses off when he loses his cookies. Then his Social Justice Warrior libtards come running to his defense and make asses of themselves! Instead of correcting the problems he attacks the poster with lies. Jake Day you are going to lose this election!
ReplyDeleteI too am a Democrat and I will be voting for anyone but Jake Day! If Wayne King wants me to vote for him he better lose the attitude.
ReplyDeleteFear the outsider!! That's your mantra Salisbury. That's the low info voter comments I see on Wayne King's fb page. Who is he to come here and tell us how to live says the uneducated liberal! Really? Are you truly that stupid?
ReplyDeleteInstead you have a boy mayor telling you how to live and that's ok?
Telling you, you can't have a chain link fence. Telling you he is turning your town into a "biking community" whether you agree or not. Selling public owned land for pennies on the dollar to his buddies in private deals (according to your councilman Muir Boda at a recent republican club meeting). Killing wildlife and then denying it. Taking money out of departments to use for other things than what they were intended for? (folked festival). Bankrupting businesses downtown with his chaotic construction. Segregating citizens by trying to tax some more than others, when in fact he admitted one does not use anymore services than another. Hiding higher crime stats?
Have you had any say in all this ridiculousness? Did you get to vote on how millions of your dollars are being wasted? Have you had any say whatsoever for what you are now on the hook for?
But fear the outsider?
Outsiders brought Dresser, Crown, Campbell here. Outsiders brought you success and prosperity.
What has Jake brought you?
Circles in the road, bike lanes and dead geese.
An artist complex that failed and is now section 8?
More crime.
More decay.
But he takes lots of selfies.
What exactly has this guy done other than paint rainbow crosswalks, help only 20 homeless out of hundreds and make bike lanes?
Has he brought new businesses here?
Has he factually curbed crime?
The 20 hour festival is a money pit and total failure, be happy you only have 1 more year of it but how many years is it going to take to pay off? Don't know? Why because he is hiding the figures? Wonder why.
Your uneducated comments are ... unbelievable. Some chick is on there whining because he used a stock photo. Thats her concern. Not his platform, doesn't even bother to go to the meet and greet to see what he is all about, she is whining about the stock family picture he used.
Then you have the progressive caucus trolling him with their ignorance and bliss. These are the people who are also running for political office. Acting like 8 year olds, on the competitions fb page, insulting their constituents while accusing him of doing the same. Ironic isn't it.
Toilet bowl politics. Welcome to Smallsbury. It will never change. Enjoy your useless bike lanes. The joke is on you, taxpayer. This is what your mayor points to, as his legacy. Bike lanes.

PM 2 on location with a working fire almost instantly.
Why TF do the Salisbury paid firemen sleep through ambulance calls, but jump up almost instantly for a reported house fire.
Truck 1 arrived on location with fire showing and "established command until the arrival of the assistant chief." How did they beat Station 2 there? Why is there an officer riding the Truck if they aren't allowed to do their job as a "Commanding Officer."
Assistant Chief 1 (Records) arrived on location with fire showing at 4:05 am. How the Hell did it take him 5 minutes to get there?? He sounded groggy as Hell. Is he on drugs or still sleeping?
Deputy Chief 16 on location at 4:07 am. Why is he always the last one on location? Is he afraid that he may have to establish command at which he is too incompetent to do? Why TH did Rick Hoppes and John Tull keep this incompetent clown in the position of Volunteer Deputy Chief?? To pacify the volunteers into thinking they have a chief officer in their ranks.
"Engine 16 are you ready for water?" That's correct at 4:09 am. Why TH is it taking 10 minutes to get water to the engine from the fire hydrant??
Assistant Chief 2 on location at 4:11 am. Where TH did he come from, Princess Anne? WTH took him so long??
Engine 507 on location at 4:12 am. They responded from their homes to the station and then to the fire from Hebron and still got there just after Assistant Chief 2. Got 3 assistant chiefs in their SUV 4x4 chiefs trucks and all 3 of them are standing around doing nothing. WTH are they needed for?? Where is Chief 1, Deputy Chief 1 and Deputy Chief 2? Surely they could use 3 more Assitance on the fire ground?
Salisbury EMS being dispatched for an ambulance call at 4775 Meadowlark Drive for a victim of an assault. No EMS units available at 4:17 am. After the second alert Assistant Chief 1 said to dispatch next due. Station 6 EMS being dispatched now at 4:17 am.
Station 1, 2, 16 all call being dispatched for a delayed ambulance response at 4:19 am. (No response out of the volunteers)
Deputy Chief 1 on location requesting Engine standby at 1 and 16 at 4:19 am. How many fire chiefs do you need on the fire scene in Salisbury for a very small house fire?

Notice how many times these fire departments are being re-alerted and how many are scratching on their calls dispatched? Do we have a serious volunteer fire department problem in Wicomico County or what? Look at the response times? Look at the number of re-alerts? Look at the number of calls scratched on? Funny how these fire stations that scratched voted to make sure that the Station 13 Volunteers weren't able to respond to their calls to assist them.
There is a fire service problem in Wicomico County!

ReplyDeleteThis Lady, who I think is a big supporter of Jake Day, was at EVO yesterday and had her nice Schwin bike stolen right of the bike rack at EVO.

Here it the link to her FB page and her plea for help in finding her bike.

Joe, you should make that fire on Truitt Street(6:05 am) a comment worthy of a post. It burnt pretty bad and took 2 hours to bring under control with firemen from 10 fire companies.
ReplyDeleteI just want to know why is it there is a sudden love of bicyclists around here? It wasn't needed before and everything was fine. Now it is all screwed up around here. Plus a lot of those bicyclists think they own the roads. They will not move for anyone. They are not allowed to hinder the flow of traffic. Maryland State law says so.
ReplyDelete@ August 7, 2019 at 11:22 AM. State law says that bicyclists must stay as far right of center as possible so as not to hinder the flow of traffic. How many different laws should motor vehicles have to follow when driving? It's one thing outside of city limits and another thing when you get in city limits. That's just asking for accidents. Such ignorance.
ReplyDeleteI would like to know why the City can spend its money on something as dumb as this extravagant bike lane yet Fitzwater street needs repaving and a solution to the constant flooding. One day there will be a sink hole and I pray no one is hurt.
ReplyDeleteI have never once seen a bicycle in a bike lane in Salisbury! Honestly, it's a nice idea but it's dangerous. How does a car make a right hand turn across a bike lane if someone is riding in it? It terrifies me. In my opinion, whatever is happening on Waverly Drive is absurd! It's confusing and the total loss of a car lane makes no sense. I think there are much better and safer things to do with the city's money.
ReplyDeleteYou haven't seen anything yet, wait till you see what Jake Gay Day has up his sleeve for Eastern Shore Drive. It's going to be much worse than Waverly Drive.
ReplyDeleteYou can thank Manure Bota and Jack Heath for rubber-stamping everything the Homo's plans.
