Pete Buttigieg has said he would decriminalize all drugs if he were to be elected president.
The Mayor of South Bend, Indiana, opened up during an interview in Iowa where he championed alternative programs as a way to tackle what he describes as a 'health problem' the criminal justice system has worsened.
While some Democratic 2020 candidates have expressed views that align in regards to marijuana possession, Buttigieg said that even those with class A drugs were not deserving of being locked up.
'I would not have said even five years ago what I believe now, which is that incarceration should not even be a response to drug possession,' Buttigieg told the Des Moines Register Monday.

Well, I kinda agree with him there. Let the druggies OD on whatever they choose. Freedom.
ReplyDeleteAgree, 402.
Deletewell another Democrat that wont be elected
ReplyDeleteMarijuana is one thing, but when you get into heroin, meth and crack there should be no mercy for the dealers. It would be no different than shooting someone with a gun. These guys should be convicted the same as attempted h
ReplyDeleteMurder for dealing this crap. To many young kids have died from this cancer to our society and not all may be addicts, some may have been first time users. Stupid Democrats don't see this, all they worry about is stopping Trump anyway they can, trying to take our gun rights away and allowing the real criminals to go free.
Look what drugs has done to Mexico and other socialist countries that are invading the US.
ReplyDeleteWhat about prostitution? Her body her right!

I kinda do too but not because I wish anyone would OD. That will happen regardless of it being legal since it already happens when it is illegal. Maybe it would happen more often, or maybe not.
Maybe crime associated with drug use would increase, or maybe not. There were a lot of predictions about bad things happening if pot were mad legal and I just don't see it.
Information, treatment, etc would be more beneficial to everyone than prison, imo.
You know all these campaign comments are like throwing spaghetti against the wall to see if it sticks. Just so unbelievably stupid.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why this isn't a platform all parties can get behind. The war on drugs is has failed.
ReplyDeleteTime to look at other options.
