A Minnesota Muslim who alleged she was made to strip and remove her hijab for a traffic violation booking photo has received a $120,000 settlement.
Aida Shyef Al-Kadi, 57, of St. Louis Park, appeared with her attorneys at the Minneapolis headquarters of the Council on American-Islamic Relations to announce the payout on Tuesday.
Al-Kadi said her treatment at the Ramsey County jail in August 2013 was 'one of the most humiliating and harmful experiences' of her life.
'I knew that I did not want any other Muslim woman to experience what I did,' she said.

ReplyDeleteOur Country,Our Rules! Follow them or Leave!
ReplyDeleteWould we be okay with cops forcing a nun to remove her habit?
ReplyDeleteSo she could have a weapon under her headdress and it would be ok. She could then kill a Correctional Officer and it would be ok? Jails and prisons have security rules that apply to all. You break the law you get arrested and jailed then you are subject to all security rules. If you don't like it return to your Country of origin or of your political belief.
