James Comey's claim that the FBI's Trump-Russia investigation was run "seven layers" below him is a total lie according to Attorney General William Barr, who said that the FBI's probe was actually handled by a "very small group of very high level officials."
To review, Comey told "Fox News Sunday" that as the director of the FBI, he was "seven layers" above the investigation, and that he left things to the career professionals when '17 serious errors' occurred which were later uncovered by the Inspector General.
Au contraire Comey
"The idea that this was seven layers below him is simply not true," Barr told Fox's Martha MacCallum in a Wednesday interview, adding "I think that one of the problems with what happened was precisely that they pulled the investigation up to the executive floors, and it was run and birddogged by a very small group of very high level officials."

WHEN R THE CUFFS COMING OUT ?
ReplyDeleteI knew he was a liar in the Summer of '16 when he started to flip-flop on the Clinton investigation and especially after the charade he played a few days just before the election, when he tried to cover his tracks by creating a smoke screen to placate some of his true-patriot underlings.
ReplyDeleteComey is a liar; would really like to see a "whistle blower" come forward and out him as well as McCabe. Also it is going to be very interesting when the Durham report becomes public which will once and for all squelch the Russia hoax and throw water on the whole impeachment fraud further implicating Pelosi, Schiff, and Nadler. Going to be fun watching Maxine choke on that.

ReplyDeleteI guess the IG has to use terms like 'error' and omission', even though we all know that these things were quite intentional.
Comey as I understand it was not well liked by FBI staff. They had a nickname for him. I'm not sure but I think it was "cardinal Comey". Let's hope someone comes forward be with some info Barr can use.
