A U.S. Navy officer with a top secret security clearance and his wife were among four charged Friday with attempting to smuggle U.S. military equipment to China.
Federal prosecutors in Florida filed a host of charges against Lt. Fan Yang, 34, a Chinese-born U.S. citizen, who is assigned to the Maritime Patrol Reconnaissance Weapons School Jacksonville.
Mr. Yang’s wife Yang “Yuki” Yang, and two Chinese businessmen Ge Songtao and Zheng Yan were also indicted.
Prosecutors say all four schemed to purchase military-style inflatable boats from a California-based navy contractor and export the equipment to China while concealing the actual buyer.

Northwest Woodsman: Marxist democrats continually push this egalitarian and inclusion to the point where they would rather be nice and inclusive , by not denying security clearances to our enemies. None of these Chinese students,l scientists, and god knows why, military officers could pass a comprehensive single scope background investigation. I have not read this article as I already know the scenario from my experiences as a federal agent in Southern California in the mid 70s. These fools allow our enemies full access to some of our most important secrets and then take no blame for the unintended consequences. Maybe they are not so unintended if really scrutinized. The Chinese are experts at copying our technology, however they make up for their shortcomings in creativeness by stealing our developments. Will we ever figure out that not everyone is our friend and in fact, most are enemies? From my experience I think not.

ReplyDeleteUpon conviction: Dangling from a yardarm for the Lt. and life sentences for the others. Actions have consequences.
Great point 9:00 PM. What are your thoughts on Kushners clearance being revoked because we were intercepting classified intelligence only he was privy to?
