Salisbury University hosts mayoral debate

It was a packed house Wednesday night as Salisbury University hosted a mayoral debate between incumbent Mayor Jake Day and challenger Wayne King.

Members of both the Salisbury community and University flocked to Guerrieri Student Union’s Wicomico Room to watch King and Day’s debate.

Day, a Salisbury native, is running for his second term as Salisbury mayor.

King, a native of Huntington, New York, recently moved to Salisbury and believes that with his background in business, he can help the city.

  6. Just because Jake Day is a local does not make him qualified to continue on the job. Maybe the city needs some fresh eyes. All Jake is doing is feel good projects. There are to many real projects that need to be done. Also I do not agree with selling the city to one place for pennies on a dollar either.

  7. Isn't this just wonderful. Jake has the debate at the college to recruit these college kids to vote with very few, if any, paying City taxes. Will they live here full time & have any long term interest in the City?

  8. Day also explained how his creations of the Mayor’s Prize and the Buy a Home, Build a Business program have benefited the community by keeping businesses here is Salisbury.

The Mayor's Prize?? It's all about Jake Day, "his creations."

How come no one has heard about Jake Day's "Buy a Home, Build a Business program?" Again it's all about Bucky Beaver!

Jake Day has absolutely no credentials qualifying him as a real Mayor!

  10. as well as continue to hire SU students as interns in the mayor’s office.

This means Jake Day preys on little boys like Nate Sansom, Wicomico County's new Republican Central Committee member.

  11. "“You’re going to find me in classrooms, you’re going to find me on campus in the coming years.” "

Why?? To make you feel like a big shot mayor to those dumb young indoctrinated lemmings.

You have no business being in Salisbury University's classrooms and Dr. Wright needs to keep you off campus. You are a predator.

Just because you claim to be in classrooms doesn't mean you will be elected.

I've got a feeling Jake Day is planning on getting a lot of out of state votes from these dumb college students.

  15. If you live in the City of Salisbury and you think you may not be able to make it to the polls on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, you can go to the Wicomico County Board of Elections on Snow Hill Rd. to vote for Wayne King. They will allow you to fill out an absentee ballot to vote and put it in a sealed envelope. That way you can assure that your vote counts.

Today, Friday, Nov. 1, is the last day to vote by absentee ballot so please go vote if there is a chance you won't be able to vote on Tuesday.
