Conservatives Are Happier, More Generous Than Liberals

Where are the happiest, most generous people in America to be found? The answer might surprise you!

Lefty author and radio personality Garrison Keillor captured the popular view (at least according to Hollywood and the media) of the differences between liberals and conservatives, claiming, “Liberalism is the politics of kindness,” standing for “tolerance, magnanimity, community spirit, [and] the defense of the weak against the powerful.” Conservatives, Keillor claims on the other hand, are people who “stand for tax cuts, and further tax cuts, annual tax cuts,” and then they “use their refund to buy a gun and an attack dog” to keep people away who are not like them.

Or, as Obama put it, these are the people who are “bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them.”

  1. That because we believe in God and they do not. If there is a higher standard, we can laugh at how vain and foolish we are. We can laugh at how we can build and nature destroys. Life is a comedy.
If there is no God, life is a tragedy. If there is no God and we are the standard, how can you not be depressed?

  3. It is great that this study confirms what I have thought and believed all along. However, just observing the behavior of liberals provides further confirmation.

I think some of them should shave their faces. A bag over it would be a better option. They just don't care how they look.

  6. There's nothing I love more than the comments section completely disproving the article itself lol.

I don't believe in a God, and the conclusions you form are ludicrous and without merit. BTW I am also Conservative.... political perspective does not define nor decide religious affiliation.

For me, it would seem that life is all there is, there is nothing after... this in turn makes every moment more special, more amazing, more wonderful, and more precious. Life is not some dark depressing tragedy... it is something to be celebrated. This place is wonderful... and it is amazing! You speak as though you really don't know any atheists, nor have ever taken the time to actually learn about them.

    In what bizzarro universe?

Look, I won't intentionally try an misrepresent you or your opinions, please don't do so for me.

In fact, I don't think that ANY deity exists since the burden of proof that there is one has never been met. The dictionary definition of an atheist is someone who says there is no god.

How to you get from that to your wildly absurd assertion?
