Fox News host Tucker Carlson floated the idea Monday on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” that universities and their large endowments should shoulder the burden of repaying student loans, not students and their families.
Carlson opened the segment discussing a recent poll showing communism’s widespread popularity among millennials, calling it a “huge problem” that needs fixing
“Believe it or not, it’s not the main problem,” he added, gearing up for his main point. “The main problem — the reason that capitalism increasingly is discredited and socialism is increasingly popular — is that our current system is making young people poor.”

Abolish the federal education system. Next reinstate mandatory Latin for all students. Remove all textbooks and computers from schools. Only then will things change.
ReplyDeleteDoes this schmuck know that endowments are not the schools property? They are donations given to organizations and managed by universities. While I am sure there is a slimeball way to steal this money it would be morally wrong. The idea that any money laying around is now up for grabs is insane.
ReplyDeleteEndowments can be used by the university at their discretion, unless they were earmarked for something, like a science lab, new building, or scholarship.
ReplyDeleteCommicrats have destroyed education just like everything they touch,,detroit, chicago, etc
ReplyDeleteEducationis a big waste of time and money just look around at all the morons with a college degree stupid is as stupid does
ReplyDeleteI hope his idea takes hold. after-all, it's the universities who are getting rich on the backs of students and the subsequent burden of student loans.
ReplyDeleteAgree - colleges and banks are at fault. However, they are not totally responsible for our youth being poor. Let's look at what our young spends money in:$5.00 Starbucks cup of coffee; $1,000.00 every 6 months or more on Apple phones; expensive cars; pre-prepared daily meals; expensive frequent vacations; expensive weddings; expensive paries for no reason (just to do it) - all with living in the basement of Mommy's home. I actually know a few of these poor young people so I am not making talkingt up. I say - it's time to take responsibility and pay your debt. No one is going to pay my mortgage.
