There are Alternatives to Killing Geese

Take a look at this information from PETA. You decide what method would be the best, instead of euthanizing geese. At the Salisbury City park two methods were tried, wooden cut-outs of wolves to scare them away and egg-addling.

  2. We abort babies like it's no big deal so "egg-addling" should be guiltless murder of unborn geese!

  3. If there's too many of them, there's a reason, no predators!
Allow them to be 'harvested' just like deer!

  4. Humanely harvest the birds and send the meat to the soup kitchens and food pantries. Or sell it off for a price to cover the state/county's expenses. This is the PERFECT solution.

  5. Tuesday there were approximately 300-400 geese all around the retaining pond on Gunby road. They know they are safe there. Until the residents get angry I suppose.

  6. Jake Day knows exactly what happened to those geese and why. He wanted them killed for his STOP amphitheater and the folk festival. He's too chicken (or goose) to tell the truth. About anything. And he gets snarky and belittling to anyone that calls him out on his lies. His supporters are sheep who have been taken in by his hype. I wish Wayne King would hand Jake Day his ass on election day.

  7. Trust me, if you had geese in your neighborhood you would want them GONE by any means. You can't enjoy your deck, the poop is every where and the geese get LOUD and threatening when you try to shoo them away. Kids can't play in the yard, the sidewalk is slippery and smelly. There's just TOO MANY of them!

  8. Good grief. get over yourselves. PETA is People Eating Tasty Animals. After all geese are NOT humans. Yes; we kill babies at any stage; even after birth and we're worried more about geese. We are overrun with geese, deer and more...We have authority over the animal kingdom. Do what we must do to keep them under control.

  9. Geese mate for life, so they better kill both partners.. emotional goose trauma for the surviving partner..

  10. If the geese came into my neighborhood and decided to stay, the neighbors and I would take care of it. No need for the DNR, animal control,PETA or anybody else to be involved. And our solution would be nobody else's business. The geese would be "here today, gone tomorrow." problem solved.

  11. If these neighborhoods where they are a problem would just turn dogs loose on them when they first start hanging around, they will leave and not come back. Let them stay and raise a family, then it's too late. They will have established their territory.

  12. We should take the geese to the Mexican boarder and send them south.

  13. Addling eggs? Why bother? Just collect them every day and donate them to local food pantries.

Goose eggs taste like chicken eggs, just a lot bigger.

Better yet, put the word out that goose eggs “enhance male performance.”

They’ll be moaning about their extinction in a few short years.
