Franchot to Make Several Stops on Eastern Shore Friday

Comptroller to recognize two restaurants for oyster recycling efforts, honor individuals at Easton park and make presentation at Salisbury University

WHO:
Comptroller Peter Franchot
WHAT:
Comptroller Franchot will spend Friday on the Eastern Shore, beginning at the Tidewater Inn in Easton, where he will recognize their oyster recycling efforts. Recycled shells used by aqua farms stimulate oyster production and promote a cleaner Chesapeake Bay, while individuals and businesses can claim the Oyster Shell Recycling Tax Credit of up to $1,500 a year.
Next, Mr. Franchot will go to Idlewild Park to present proclamations to Shelton Hawkins and Catherine Blizzard. Mr. Hawkins initiated the "Play in Color" revitalization project at the Idlewild basketball courts to encourage youths to actively participate in sports. Ms. Blizzard is being recognized for her winning redesign of the Moton Park basketball court as part of its own revitalization project.
Afterwards, the Comptroller will head to Sea Gull Stadium at Salisbury University for a special presentation to a member of the campus community. For more details, call Alan Brody at 410-260-6346 or email abrody@comp.state.md.us.
Lastly, Mr. Franchot will swing by Evolution Craft Brewing. to present a proclamation to owner John Knorr and his wife Jasmine for the business' participation in the oyster shell recycling program. The brewery and restaurant has been an environmental steward and a catalyst for economic growth in Salisbury since relocating from Delaware in 2012.

  6. There's more than meets the eye here with Franchot and his "frequent visits" to salisbury. I noticed he is quite buddy buddy with Mike Dunn when he comes around. Any of us that knows the real Mike Dunn and his wreckless social life can probably make an educated guess on why Franchot has such a special interest

  9. Everyone should go only to see what trash lives among us. That would be the only reason to go but it's not worth it having to breath the same air as this rank lying putrid spawn of garbage.
