Sussex County- The Delaware State Police have arrested 28-year-old Jared D. Camplesi in connection with multiple thefts from motor vehicles.
During the past several weeks in September, 2019, the Delaware State Police handled multiple theft from motor vehicle complaints occurring in the Milford, Lewes, and Rehoboth Beach areas. Through investigative measures, Camplesi was identified as the suspect. It was learned that during one of the thefts, Camplesi obtained a credit card and utilized the stolen card at multiple locations in the Lewes area.
On September 27, 2019, Camplesi was observed leaving a hotel room at the Rehoboth Inn located at 20494 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach. Camplesi left the area on a bike, traveling northbound on Coastal Highway, when he was subsequently stopped by police. Camplesi was found in possession of a stolen wallet. A search warrant for the hotel room in which Camplesi was staying at was obtained. Upon execution of the search warrant, Troopers discovered drug paraphernalia and additional items belonging to other victims.
Camplesi was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:
- Theft (Felony)
- Theft (3 counts)
- Unauthorized Use of a Payment or Credit Card (4 counts)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Criminal Trespass Third Degree (3 counts)
Camplesi was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $4503.00 secured bond.

ReplyDeleteNorthwest Woodsman: You can depend upon the fact that if one has tattoos on their face and neck, they will be involved in criminal conduct of some sort. Kind of counterintuitive as it makes for being readily identified by witnesses and victims.
