Wicomico Nominates New District 2 Council Nominee

SALISBURY – Officials this week selected District 2 resident Nicole Acle to fill a vacant seat on the Wicomico County Council.

On Monday, the Wicomico County Council held a special meeting to appoint a nominee to fill the District 2 seat vacated by Marc Kilmer. Among the candidates for District 2 were Nicole Acle, Julie Brewington, Joseph Collins and Mark McIver.

Councilman Larry Dodd made a motion to appoint Collins to the vacant seat, which was seconded by Councilman Joe Holloway.

“Many of the conversations I’ve had were in support of Mr. Collins,” Dodd said. “I think he would be a good nominee.”

  1. She came here from Ocean City what does she know about the west side of this county
She does not know where Mardela Springs, Sharptown ,or Hebron are at let alone
    Mad Calf lane
I posted prior the appointed person would have a Salisbury address
Joe Collins was the right person for this seat
She will however learn as we will start to educate her
We have had a bridge / road out for three years and had nothing to date done here in Mardela Springs
    The system failed again

    1. Yeah, that bridge is totally her fault. Certainly not the previous representative.

She has lived on the west side of sby for a long time.

      Nice try.

  3. Although we know and agree with her stand on the revenue cap, I'm glad Brewington was NOT selected...she's a bad personal example...!

  6. Doctor's wife. Yes, I believe she is a token, selected as the one who could do the least "damage" to the good ole boys. When is a real working person going to be on the council? Over 20 people applied and this was the best they could do? I think we need an ALTERNATIVE Wicomico County Republican Committee.

    1. I will go out on a limb here and say what I started to post but erased it, what is needed is for "Real" Republicans to either take back the committee or form a new group of true conservatives. It is the same in someone's pocket people over and over. Show up to a meeting with a new thought and see how fast you get ignored by those who run it!!
