When you buy a taco slightly bigger then your own thumb and then get charged for a normal sized taco, you're getting screwed.
Last week I went to another local Mexican joint and ordered 3 beef tacos. The meat was completely dry, no lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, NOTHING and they were $14.95.
Stop getting screwed and come to Caribbean Joe's where everything is not only FRESH, I buy NOTHING from Sysco and the portions are HUGE and loaded without an additional charge.
I open the doors Wednesday at 12:00 PM. The pool opens at 1:00 PM.
What's wrong with Sysco? Clue me in.
ReplyDeleteJoe, for get them, if they want to waste their money they think g rows on trees and someone else will give it to them, then let them suffer... This is the only way these ass hats will ever learn anything... Maybe one day they will give a shit about life and do something about it, but don't hold your breath... These people are to stupid and they love being slaves... They love paying high amounts of money for crap quality and crap quantity... They have a choice to not go there and buy this bull shit, yet they still do, so let them... Just block their complaints when they start complaining about shit, they lost the right to complain if they choose to keep buying shit like this... Like I said before, and I will say it again... NO matter where you go, it will follow you, that includes food being made smaller or all the way up to taxes.. IT ALL FOLLOWS YOU... That is how you know it is done by design and on purpose...
ReplyDeleteOh look everyone, our guy that needs a hug is back!
DeleteSorry Joe, I usually agree with you and yes I agree about you getting screwed on those tacos. I've been hearing about that since they opened. It was nice of you not to mention the name of the business. With them being so new, hopefully they will get the message and change before they are closed as quickly as they opened. BUT the Sysco comment that I hear on occasion from people always drives me crazy. Yes I am in the restaurant business. I have been for 25 years. I have never worked in a restaurant that has not bought from Sysco or someone like them. Whether it be Holt, US foods, Saval, They are all the same thing. They are a distribution center for everything restaurants need. Yes you can get fully prepared frozen entrees, soups, appetizers, But you also get all your fresh beef, chicken, steaks, and fish as well. Any spice you can imagine. and anything else you would need to create even 5 star Michelin restaurant meals. To not be using 1, 2 or even 3 of the main distribution companies and have them compete for your business with the best pricing you are doing yourself a disservice and in the long run costing yourself profits. With that being said, I look forward to checking your place out. I'm just waiting for September or October so I don't have to deal with the crowds.
ReplyDeleteYea, Taco Bliss is not so blissful. And they move sooooooooooooooo slow. It took 20 minutes to make 3 tacos. Wee Little Tacos should be their name. It's a shame. I love to support local.
ReplyDeleteTaco Bliss SUCKS!! Horrible l, overpriced food. Terrible service. They'll be out of business by Halloween.
Delete8:44am - the problem isn't totally with Sysco, but the mentality of owners who buy from Sysco. They are looking for the cheapest of the cheap, and are only concerned with making money. But in actuality they're shooting themselves in the food because if you make good food, people will come back again and again.
ReplyDeleteSysco is known for rough handling of products, sometimes expired products, and they basically feel if the owner has no respect for buying decent product, why should they care how it's handled. You're forced into minimum purchases and then you have product sitting around going bad.
Not to say Sysco doesn't have some quality products, but you have to look for them, it's easier to buy cheap, premade products and reheat them when you're lazy and don't care.
What was the name of the Mexican joint ?
ReplyDeleteThose are street tacos. Street tacos typically come with just meat, chopped onion and cilantro and are served on a small corn tortilla. I love them. With that being said, $14.95 is a total rip off.
ReplyDeleteWe went to Taco Bliss and the taco are tiny, tasteless and overpriced. First and last trip there. Ripoff!
ReplyDeleteI hope that someone that’s complaining at least spoke with the owner who is there daily and most of the time. You can write on the blog all you want but face to face is what works. Introduce yourself, make constructive comments and help instead of bash. Some are new at this and could use positive constructive feed back. I had the shrimp quesadilla which was delicious and filled with shrimp. Work on helping not bashing. Also the food companies have great quality products . It’s what the buyers want to buy and price structure. 90/10 beef is still 90/10 beef from either place you buy it. The bread however you have choices like brioche roll, hamburger roll, Kaiser roll etc. Now I am a pickle person. Soft warm pre sliced pickles are nasty but whole cut your own wedge style pickle which is cold is great. The owners decide price point and go from there. I don’t mind paying for quality. Most people around here look for quantity which is sad but true.
ReplyDeleteIf you are a real foodie then you know all of this. I for one want to be told if my product is not good or you see the value is not compared to the product.
You decide!!! If you ran a business would you want to be bashed on here or have constructive thoughts. Don’t compare apples to oranges.
Joe if you have a great product use that as a selling point but don’t stoop so low as to bash a competitor.
Don’t throw stones in glass houses!!!
10:45, The image I provided is real and I did compare apples to apples. In most cases the business owner is never on location. If you are new at this restaurant thing and you are serving tacos like the image I provided, well, you'll not last very long. Sysco demands a minimum order of $450.00 per order/delivery. Small businesses cannot place such orders on a weekly basis once they are stocked. Aside from that, Sam't Club carries same name brand products for 70% less then Sysco and you don't have to buy things by the case. Worst of all, they're a RETAIL store, go figure. You can try to defend your business and or Sysco all you want, smart business owners will provide, (as you already agreed) larger portions for less money because we'll buy from Sam's Club for 70% less, allowing us to provide larger portions for less money. Perhaps you need to get into another line of business, like a bubble wrap salesman so as you don't get so hurt when reality/truth hits you.
ReplyDeleteThose tacos should be priced at $2.50-$3.50 per taco depending on the filling.
ReplyDeleteInsults, insults, insults. That's the world we live in now. Successful, secure people don't need to bash others, truth or not. Do your thing, do it right, and the business will come. And stop bashing the Wal-Mart asset control people at the door. They're just doing their job. They're not allowed to go through your bags, just the things exposed in the cart. Bash corporate, write letters, raise hell, whatever, but leave the elderly people trying to make a living alone. Show your exposed items in your cart and stop acting like a bunch of privileged babies. Everybody's in a hurry.
ReplyDeleteMy first time ..with family ..ate at Joe's .... Everything was delicious and answers by waitress correct ..other family members with me were impressed !! ...of course I was too
ReplyDeleteif you Richard gives you a hug, you better know where his hands are. Self righteous asshat! Joe i to want to come check your place out, after Labor Day.
ReplyDeleteI don't really ever agree with you Joe, but you're on it with this one. The thing is, I REALLY want to like Taco Bliss but I can't! They are so freaking small.
