Last October, federal officials raided the West Ocean City home of Basel and Samir Ramadan for the second time in six years as part of a larger investigation into a vast cigarette smuggling and money-laundering investigation. During the raid, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) official, along with allied local law enforcement partners, searched the Ramadan’s West Ocean City home as part of Operation Sidestep, a months-long investigation into an untaxed cigarette smuggling, money-laundering and tax evasion scheme carried out by the two local men.
Last Thursday, both Basel and Samir Ramadan each pleaded guilty to a single conspiracy charge, the highest charge against each defendant. Sentencing has been set for Aug. 26 in King’s County Supreme Court in New York.

ReplyDeleteWorked for a company for 30 years and they constantly employed tactics to RIP us off. Threatened to have me fired if I reported anything unusual about their businesses. My company finally told them that we're done with them. We'll go to court - that was the end of that. Supposedly the laundered cash was sent to Palestinian terrorist groups. They also were thrown out of Ledos at Food lion shopping center on Nanticoke Road.

I would hope any law enforcement that might remember the fake robbery where Mr "towdoctor" tied these two idiots up in the back room and made off with 50,000 in cash to split up with these two crooks consider furthering their investigation.
