Suspect: Gary Richard Hurwitz, 56, Princess Anne, MD
Narrative: On 23 July 2019 a deputy transported Gary Hurwitz back to Wicomico County from Patuxent Institution where he was being housed following his extradition from Ohio. Hurwitz, who had been featured as one of Wicomico County’s “Most Wanted” had fled to that state.
Hurwitz stands accused of arranging delivery of aggregate to a purchaser, accepting payment for the product then telling the supplier of the aggregate that he would have to pay the supplier at a later date. Hurwitz allegedly pocketed this money and it never found its way to the supplier.
Hurwitz also stands accused of arranging delivery of asphalt millings to a purchaser and accepting payment for the product. Hurwitz then ignored all attempts of the supplier of the asphalt millings to collect on the bill.
Further investigation revealed that in both incidents, Hurwitz sold the product at a significant discount to the purchasers and appeared to not have any intent to make good on the bills with the companies that supplied the product.
Upon arrest, Hurwitz was transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner released Hurwitz on Personal Recognizance on these charges.

DeleteProbably the same Commissioner who refused me to have
a arrest for my crazy ex
who was prescription opiate addicted
who kept breaking into my house every week before the divorce while I worked
I was pretty upset they refused to stop her as she broke windows, locks ect
than I learned she was hooked up sexually with a couple of Wicomico County Deputies who taunted, harassed me on the road
Crack must be really cheap these days.
ReplyDeleteWow, is this 1986?? What's with all the crack?
ReplyDelete@7:33 You can thank Maryland's "Justice Reinvestment Act" for what you are complaining about. That piece of garbage legislation ties the hands of commissioner, judges, probation officers...it even allows wardens to release people on so called administrative parole without the parole commission being involved.
ReplyDeleteher neck tattoos are hot
ReplyDeleteThe neck tats really look nice lol
ReplyDeletePR'd? Extradited at what expense to taxpayers? Then released? WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!
ReplyDeletemeanwhile msp is racking up the money nabbing all those working people heading to the beach. ever wonder why they always never seem to get any more then low level users? where's the kingpins? oh that's right that would take actual police work, getting off the highway and out of the car. good job sheriffs. MSP, SBYpizza not so much!
ReplyDeleteAGREE WITH 5:06AM-----And away he goes again--what a joke the Commissioner is--Just wearing out the rubber stamp

5:06 Totally agree!!!
ReplyDeleteAnyone who has worked at any of the local county jails or ECI over the past several decades know Gary Hurwitz very well. He has been a regular here. Total con man.
It is beyond comprehension that he would be released on personal recognizance after thousands of dollars were spent on extraditing him form Ohio. Even being one of Wicomico County's Most wanted criminals had no bearing on the decision to release him?
