Has Ocean City Been Overdeveloped?

Here are some facts for those who are concerned about the overdevelopment of Ocean City. This will help separate fact from fiction. These statistics do not include new construction for owner-occupied, or primary homes for local occupants.
In 1950, the town saw 153 new construction properties including:
  • The Lankford Hotel
  • Stone Haven Apartments
  • Buckingham Hotel
  • Seascape Motel
Between 1950 and 1960, there were 517 new construction units built in Ocean City. Those ten years brought us:
  • Harrison Hall
  • Buas Bayside Hotel
  • Commander Hotel
  • Phillips Crab House
  • Surf & Sands
  • Castle in the Sand

  3. Every piece of sand is covered with buildings

    way overdeveloped

it's a small island...you can only fit so many cars and people

We are do another Hurricane like in 1933 in Ocean City

most the stuff they built will be taken out to the Ocean

  5. People are focused on controlling the wrong thing. It's not properties that are/will be reaching their limit, it's PARKING SPACES. The air show and July 4th literally use up all available parking that creates total gridlock. It's not new Bay Crossings we need until there are additional Destination Venues created. Ocean City can't hold anymore (cars).

  8. Ocean City is a horrible. It has zero charm left and that is to be blamed on officials who lack any type of class and sophistication. Ocean City should be a charming town by the sea but instead it is a drunk filled traffic nightmare cess pool of cement.

  10. OC has plenty of parking just not so much below 28th street. Almost all the condos have 2 spots. The problem is the people thth rent condos park on the street instead of their assigned spot. That way they keep the section of the beach near their condo from being overcrowded.

      you are on the money...

I work down here.....I observe women from all diffrent States....
      their married and bringing back
fat drunk men to sleep with for the night

most married men troll the bars to look for disgruntled married women to Sleep with

The ones getting married....ride into O.C. with their windows painted
" LAST FLING BEFORE THE RING "

I been working down here in O.C. for more than a decade....
its wild to observe and learn about

I can only imagine the foreseeable divorces that can or will happen

  15. The bigger the project the more money the town government makes. 10% of the project cost = the cost of your construction permits
