Gilroy Garlic Festival Prohibited ‘Weapons of Any Kind’

As gun-control advocates seize the Gilroy Garlic Festival shooting to justify even more gun control it should be noted that the festival prohibited “weapons of any kind.”

In other words, the festival had 100 percent gun control as far as it related to law-abiding citizens.

The festival was held in Christmas Hill Park where the possession of “pocketknives and weapons of any kind” are clearly prohibited. Moreover, a perusal of the city of Gilroy’s “Park Rules and Regulations” unambiguously states that “guns, slingshots, or fireworks” are prohibited.

The nation witnessed a similar gun-free zone shooting on May 31, 2019, in Virginia Beach. That gunman opened fire in the employee portion of a city building, and employees were barred from bringing firearms to work.

We saw the same thing in gun-free Parkland (February 14, 2018), gun-free Orlando Pulse (June 2016), the gun-free San Bernardino County Building (December 2, 2015), the gun-free DC Navy Yard (September 16, 2013), gun-free Sandy Hook Elementary (December 14, 2012), and the gun-free Aurora movie theater (July 20, 2012).

  1. We don't need to ban guns. We need to ban gun free zones.

  2. Yup, never hear of a shooting going on at a gun club, police fraternal lodge, or gun store.

  3. Gun free zones nothing more then a democrat feel good policy. And the democrat voters who all have IQ's somewhere in the imbecile/moron/idiot range fall for the nonsense. Democrats voters can't think much less forward think. All a gun free zone does is let a shooter know they will be able to at least kill a few people before someone is around to stop them. But again all democrat voters are a pathetically and incredibly ignorant bunch and any kind of logic and common sense completely escapes them.

  4. So even with this venue being a gun free and weapon of any kind free zone. Someone with evil intent still managed to attack this function and kill people. Again proves, if evil wants to kill, evil will find a way to kill. So yeah, lets continue to blame the gun instead of the shooter.

  6. No guns allowed, all the law biding citizens followed the law and guess what happened. It's a shame that you have to be afraid for your life in any crowded gathering.

  7. I am all for right to carry but why conceal it ? I leave public venues when I see fat ass paranoid people that can't manage to haul their pants up and they are packing. Who are they going to save me from when they shoot themselves in their ass crack and half the room thinking it's some wild west shoot out ? Carry as you may but check your piece at the door I will fend for myself.

  8. If half the people at the festival were carrying, the shooting would only have lasted for a few seconds.

Think about that. That alone could have saved those 3 lives.

  10. Gun free zones are magnets for mass shooters. How come nobody goes to a gun show and shoots the place up? That's right. The shooter doesn't want to get shot. They are all cowards, that want to shoot innocent, unarmed victims. If you can shoot back, they want nothing to do with you. Nothing like a killing field at gun free zones. Best place for mass casualties. The crazies know that. The politicians don't care. Every mass shooting and killings contributes to the politicians goal of disarming all of the American citizenry...except for the insane and criminals. Disarm everybody in Congress and see how long it takes for the shooter's to come for them.
