A federal appeals court on Wednesday ordered the dismissal of a lawsuit brought by Maryland and the District of Columbia claiming President Donald Trump is accepting illegal profits from foreign and state government visitors at his Washington hotel.
A three-judge panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit ruled unanimously not on the merits of the case, but on the plaintiffs' legal standing.
Attorneys General Brian E. Frosh, of Maryland, and Karl A. Racine, of the District of Columbia, filed the suit in 2017, seeking to invoke the Constitution's little-tested emoluments clause. The decision halts numbers of subpoenas to federal agencies and Trump's business entities for records related to the hotel that had been sought in the case.

Quit wasting taxpayer money, frosh!
ReplyDeleteOur Attorney General needs to do the job he is being paid for: Attorney general duties include providing consumer protections from fraud, scams and dangerous products, people and situations, protection of the state's resources by upholding state and federal environmental laws, oversight or direct involvement in criminal court cases and appeals, enforcement of judgments
ReplyDeleteMaybe if he actually performed his job duties the citizens of maryland wouldn't be scammed as often as the are, and maybe we would have caught the book fraud alot sooner in Baltimore????????
His job is to protect Marylanders and not trying to protect the nation from his perceived wrong doings of the President!
DeleteSTICK IN DC/ MD more to come.
ReplyDeleteand 3:08 if he protected real citizens and kicked out the illegal line jumpers think of the tax savings!!
ReplyDeleteYea 3:08 and on speaking of that book fraud what has happened to that?
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard anything lately on that except crickets
Guess the x mayor is sitting on some Caribbean beach somewhere enjoying life now a days
Wow life is so rough for politicians these days
He really doesn't care what you think (until Election Day that is).
ReplyDeleteFrosh is too busy doing the bidding of Bloomberg to look out for Md
ReplyDeletePeople like Frosh and Cummings have continued to attack President Trump who everyone knows is a counter puncher. These frivolous lawsuits cost all Marylander's. Trump recently pulled all FBI personnel from the main FBI building in Maryland. More lost revenues for Maryland. Good going Frosh and Cummings!
ReplyDeleteFrosh just hates Trump and he's part of the plan to do everything to resist, despite the fact he ignores all of his other responsibilities. If he really wants to do some good, he would run a forensic audit on WorCOA....everyone in the county knows that agency is a mess and the top brass keeps giving itself raises while ignoring everyone else....AND, NOBODY HAS EVER SEEN A BUDGET - EVER!!!!!! I know for a fact that 3 county commissioners were made aware of this and did nothing!!!!!
