The United States is "not where we need to be" on increasing employment levels of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people, a top economic policymaker said on Tuesday.
Federal Reserve Bank of New York President John Williams said at an LGBT finance industry event that unemployment rates are nearly double the national average for people of those sexual orientations.
"As President of a Federal Reserve Bank, I am focused on two vital economic goals: maximum employment and stable prices for the U.S. economy," Williams said in remarks prepared for delivery in New York.
"These statistics paint a clear picture of why conferences like this one are so important: We are not where we need to be."

Unfortunately, these people are highly opinionated and don't control themselves during interviews.

They need to learn to speak properly and not come across with their political views / problems!
This statistic does not surprise me - and won't change until these people learn to STFU and get with part of the program!
I have many 'alphabet' friends of different letters and we have had candid conversations like this...some of them are working while others are not!

ReplyDeleteIf an employer has a choice between two possible candidates and one of them shows up with blue and purple tinted hair, a nose ring, a couple of tattoo's, and is quick to announce their sexual desires, guess who ain't gettin' hired?
ReplyDeleteBe as whack, weird, strange, and off-the-charts abnormal as you want to be, but don't expect everyone else to fall to their knees in worship and admiration.
It may go over great in college and in mom's basement, but in the REAL world, you are not getting a lot of props for being an accident of nature or pushing your sexual proclivities in everyone's face.
