Theodore "John" Jones celebrates 60 years at Delaware Tire Center on June 1
Theodore Johnny Jones started work at the tire center on S Salisbury Boulevard on June 1, 1959.
My niece and I were so impressed with his story last July when we were there getting tires that we vowed to return in 11 months and bring him a cake. My niece, Janna Miller, just finished making the cake and we will deliver it tomorrow.
The woman at Burnett White is rude and obnoxious and has no business dealing with customers. She has run off many customers who refuse to go back there because of her. She needs to take a page out of Johnny's book and learn how to treat customers and deal with the public. She doesn't have a clue. She is very rude both on the phone and in person.
If I was manager there, I would fire her NOW! If she is manager, she also has a boss. The person there who does not have a boss should oust her rude a** immediately.
Been dealing with Delaware Tire since the late 80's. Both Jim and John dealt with me and my wife. John knows us when one of us go in and always the same helpful courteous man. He ask which vehicle is in need. I miss him some since he works part time. Delaware Tire will be hard up to find another Person with his dedication and friendly customer service.
Nothing wrong with Burnett White....Been taking our two vehicles there for the past 15 years! Everyone is always very helpful and willing to assist either my wife or myself!!! The lady you must be referring to is the owner....Dawn! If you go in with an attitude she will get one right with you, we always try to call in advance of our arrival so they can tell us if it is something they can do now or schedule to drop it off later! Good folks will continue to use them! She is not shy of confrontation, she is just a tuff business lady.
Wow 60 years is dedication. Never had a problem with the woman, or anyone else at Burnett White. They have the nicest waiting room of any repair shop I've ever seen.
Johnny I love you thank you for when I was 16 and took my dad's stick shift out for a drive not knowing was I was doing when the clutch came off in my hand and fixing and having one of the mechanics drive it back and put in the same spot so my dad would knot know when he came back from vacation with my mom. And thank you for never letting me forget that I flipped you off when I cut you off on RT 13. And thank you for every time the line was long in DE Tire for taking me first. And thank you for when I was at St. Francis on Wednesdays when we had half a day and would have to stay at DE tire till Dad got off work,( OM my mom would have died if she knew me and my brother rode the belt and the lift and climbed in all those tire stacks) and when I needed to use the bathroom and you took the nudie magazines out LOL and thank you so very much for being a huge part of my life! Shelly wink Uncle JU JU
Sorry but Burnett White has NEVER been the same since Les Merritt worked there!! He was a comparable as Johnny at Delaware tire. Gentlemen like these two exemplified customer service!! As far as Dawn goes at Burnett White a little humility goes a long way!!
My experience is quite the opposite of yours and after my one time interaction with her I was done as a customer. There is a difference between being a tuff business lady and simply being rude to your customer.
No you must be a loser along with all your loser friends above. This is supposed to be a feel good story about a guy who has dedicated 60 years to a job in our community but you and your cockroaches treat this comment section like your platform for personal attacks. I've been in Burnett white 6 to 8 times for a few oil changes and tire plugs. They were friendly to me as well as everyone else in the waiting room. The people who came in were often greeted by name and on one occasion I saw them bend over backwards to get someone's company truck back on the road as quickly as possible. Maybe it's you who's the problem.
We also have been going to Delaware Tire for decades now. It's true that Jim Walling and Johnny know us by name when we come in and it's a marvelous feeling. Their staff is always courteous and their business is highly reputable. That's the first place we go. Now . . .
May 30, 2019 at 10:24 AM And yet here you are being a loser changing the topic after calling people out for the same.
Another family member, friend, employee? You seem to spend a lot of time in their waiting room.
Most auto repair shops will bend over backwards to get another company's vehicle up and running. That is how you keep them. Duh. Nothing special about that. Its $$$
Unless you were there when I was, your commentary is nothing but a personal attack on another.
I don't care if that woman at Burnette White is owner, manager or the janitor, she needs to learn some common courtesy when dealing with people. I worked dealing with the public too, for many years, and if I would have talked to customers like she does, I would have been fired pronto. She must be the owner or surely she would have been fired a long time ago.
Congratulations Johnny!
ReplyDeleteA very nice man!! Congratulations!
