LUCKEE FOUNDS HIS FUREVER HOME!!
****************
I happen to be there when the owner brought him in. He stated he was moving to an apartment and they wouldn't take a dog as large as his. He had gotten Luckee from the Humane Society 13 years ago.
Good to see he has passed his behavior trial and his physical, as he'd not had vet care or preventatives for heart worms.
LET'S HOPE HE FINDS A GREAT HOME WHERE HE CAN LIVE OUT THE REST OF HIS DAYS IN COMFORT AND CARE !
I am a 13 year old, Neutered Male, Labrador Mix.
Luckee is a handsome senior boy who sadly lost his home when his beloved dad fell on tough times. Luckee is an active senior- he would enjoy a few walks each day and he would love to have his very own bed to rest on. Luckee is an admitted cheese-a-holic- you will get a ton of tail wags and happy smiles for a little smackeral of cheese! Do you have room in your heart and home for this senior boy to live out his golden bone years?
Interesting how a few irresponsibles have ruined it for the rest of us.
ReplyDeleteI have been "rental" shopping and it is an interesting process, especially with all the ridiculous rules, restrictions and demands.
I have lived in a lot of communities but this is the first place I have lived where I have to pay a fee to even tour a single family rental. And since management companies are only open M-F 9-5 the prospects of getting to their office to pay them nill, since I work for a living. Isn't that a business expense? Why am I paying it?
No wonder people are flocking to the complexes. Landlords here are ignorantly and greedily screwing themselves out of good prospective tenants with their greedy tactics. I often wondered why a home has been sitting vacant for 3 months.... I now know why.
Only here in Ghettobury. Always a first, when it comes to a new way of screwing the consumer.
Had my house up for sale by what I thought was the best realtor in Salisbury. Well, guess what. Since I didn't live in the house I was selling the realtor just forgot about us (lazy). If you called the number on the sign the mail box was full and you couldn't leave a message. Neighbor said sign was down for weeks. Neighbor put it next to the garage door. When you texted the realtor you didn't get a response. When you did he was out I'll which happened alot. It took 18 months to sell my house. The new owner just happened to be in the neighborhood and saw it was for sale. Lazy realtor got 6 percent of the sale price. Telling you this because it is true - we were screwed. Please be careful. Understand this realtor is part of the Mayor Day good old boy club. It figures.
DeleteAW?
Delete1023-The complexes are no better. Try to get something fixed by them, or see a complaint get resolved. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteCan someone please clear up part of the post for me? It states he passed his behavioral and vet check but he "hasn't" had previous vet care and heartworm treatment?? I'm assuming he's at the shelter by the airport
ReplyDelete11:20
ReplyDeleteSounds like the previous owner didn't keep him up to date on his shots and vet care. Now that he is at the humane society in Salisbury he has been checked by a vet, tested for heart worms and they evaluated him to make sure he wasn't aggressive.
He is a young looking 13.

ReplyDeleteI was looking at a house up for rent and contacted the supposedly premier rental management company via web and cell phone and not once did the guy bother to call me back.
He did such a bad job managing this property the owner decided to put it up for sale.
This place is a joke. Its degraded from the armpit of the eastern shore to the butthole of the eastern shore.
God bless Lucky I hope he finds a wonderful forever home with all the love he deserves.
ReplyDeleteThey are meaning he was updated on All Things he needed at the H. Society here.
ReplyDeleteHe is a young looking dog and has been well fed. as one can see.
I sure hope someone has room for him to live out the
rest of his Senior days with all the Comfort this ole' boy
deserves and with the very Best of Care!
I commend the H.S. for giving him a chance for life and working towards getting him a home!
Thanks for posting this Joe.

I do believe the Main Objective of this post is trying to
ReplyDeleteget the word out to all for the possibility of the Dog
getting his forever home .
Rentals are an entirely different topic to be discussed, preferably under " Rentals in Salisbury."
Hope Lucky lives up to his name.
Hey Joe!
ReplyDeleteWould you do this dog the favor of keeping his picture / story up
this entire week , posted on the left of your site . I'm certain
others are like me and may not get on here every day . Perhaps someone will see him and give him a home.
Thanks much ! ew

ReplyDeleteThere is always some troll like you busy trying to control the conversation. If you had a brain you would comprehend the correlation.
You are so worried about the dog do something useful and adopt it. Then you can come back to trolling later.

ReplyDeleteThe article does just that.
The comments are secondary and don't need to be monitored by you.
Don't like the comments don't read em.

ReplyDeleteThey don't sound like they care whether YOU get to be a tenant, or not. Try buying a place to call your own, and quit living in somebody else's property. Quit your bitchin' You're begging somebody to let you live in their investment, and they already have a waiting list.
June 24, 2019 at 11:41 AM:
ReplyDeleteBoy did you pick the wrong realtor. Day had nothing to do with the realtor YOU signed a contract with. All your fault, nobody else. Should have done your homework. BTW, you got what you paid for. 6% is not going to get any effort from a realtor, except for a listing and a yard sign. And if you signed a contract for more than a year, again, your fault. And guess what? I'm NOT a realtor, or a real estate agent working for a realtor. I've sold three homes in my lifetime, and didn't use a realtor for either one. I put a signs in the yards, and responded to phone messages. All I needed was a lawyer to close the sales after negotiations with the buyers. There's nothing like an AS-IS sale of a property by an owner.
There'll be one more vet bill in the near future for Lucky. Hope the new owner can fund it.
ReplyDeleteWhy such controversy about this post ?
ReplyDeleteAfter reading the article it appears it's about getting the "word out there to find the dog a home."
The owner wasn't allowed a dog this large where he was moving, only smaller dogs were allowed .
Joe, you are always " so willing to help" animals. It has
to be greatly appreciated by the H.S. and All animal
advocates , especially since you put this " out front" for all to see in hopes there's someone out there that can take him in !
Thanks goes out to you again Joe !!
As for rentals, I don't know if people are aware
ReplyDeletethat Insurance Companies will not grant Insurance
protection to those that have certain types of dogs.
As for "Luckee" , Let's hope he will find a Good Home
from someone viewing this Blogg Site.
I hope that someone takes this poor dog in and gives it a loving home. Going back to the shelter at his age can't be good. I'm absolutely amazed at how many people actually look to rent/buy places they can't take their animals! Why would a person do that? Find somewhere to live that you can take your animals for the love of Jesus!!
ReplyDelete5:55 I would love to adopt this dog, however due
ReplyDeleteto health reasons and age I'm not able
to do so. We all now know , from his previous
owners experience ,that larger dogs aren't accepted
in rental apt. where he was moving.
Think it's Great that Joe has posted this to help find
the dog a home. If anyone knows of a Rescue Groups for Senior
dogs , that may be helpful to post in case a permanent home
can't be found.
I went to the H.S. to volunteer and took "Luckee"
ReplyDeleteoutside . He is totally frightened ,just petrified, probably more so because of his age and the drastic change for him. The H.S. is filled to capacity and of course all the penned dogs are barking/jumping up when you walk by their cages. He would make no eye contact with me what so ever, not even taking the cheese I offered.
When I got him outside , unleashed him to go in the caged in area they have there , after a while he came right up to me. And
when I sat with him in the area with tables, he took the cheese
from my hand. By this time his tail , which had been tucked
between his legs , started to wag. I really hated to have to return him to his kennel ! I am not able to adopt him , but I ask a H.S. employee if they did "Fostering out."
She said IF the person was wanting to adopt they would. They may also consider letting a dog out just for the week end to get them out and into a different environment. Papers would have to be filled out to qualify to do this to make certain the dog would be going to a safe environment.
If you should have the time on your hands, do go, take him out for a walk , perhaps ask the H.S. about their consideration of your taking him in for the week end.
9:40 AM typical smallsbury mentality. think all those living in the city own their place? I know many retired who did not want the responsibility or burden of home ownership and opted for renting.
ReplyDeletejust because your pea brain cant fathom it doesn't mean it is not a good or viable option for others.
And no I don't beg, darlin. You have only 2 options of contact. Web or phone. Not showing and not answering a call is typical around here, we don't take it personally. We've learned about all the lazy do nothings there are around here. From realtors to plumbers.
The homeowner SOLD the house this idiot was managing. that tells you just about all you needed to know. typical you missed the point of the comment and that important fact.
should rename this place idiot village
should rename this place idiot village
ReplyDeleteJune 25, 2019 at 1:19 PM;
You said it all....about yourself. Your writing skill (or lack thereof) says it all. And tell me again how you know an anonymous comment is from a "samallsbury" mentality? You can't possibly know that. But then again, you are probably a "smallsbury" tenant that complains about landlords.
Please stop talking about rentals and invest that energy in taking this poor old dog for a walk. If I didn't live so far away I would do it myself. Talk about a feeling of satisfaction that would give you.
ReplyDeletePLEASE HELP FIND LUCKEE A HOME! Get back on the topic of the dog!!
2:20 . Yes, this is what the post is about
ReplyDelete" Finding Luckee a Home. "
Today I was out to the H.S. to take him for a
walk and let him roam around in the nice
wire enclosures they have for the animals there.
After continued brushings his coat is " coming
to the front!" With a bath he will look even
better. Today , he was much more friendly and
came from his kennel to the front office , where he
greeted me with his tail in a partial wag, no longer tucked under.
( yesterday when I walked him it was tucked between his legs for most of the visit )
I'd adopt him in a heartbeat, if possible to do so, but since that's not possible , it's the least I can do to get him
out of the kennel and give him some much needed attention and
exercise.
Keep your fingers crossed for this ole' boy that he'll find
that Good Forever home he deserves to live out the rest of his
life span.
Thank you 2:20 , Your Right on Target about
ReplyDeletethis Post!!!
God Bless you 8:12pm! What a wonderful thing you are doing. I used to live in Maryland but now I'm in Florida. I've followed this blog for a long time and still do obviously. I have known Sbynews to find missing animals and so on. I hope Luckee finds that forever home with someone that would love and care for him. What your doing to get him out is more than THANK YOU could every say but its a place to start!
ReplyDelete8:17pm I had to say something because I really thought I was going to read post of how folks were stepping up to the plate to find this dog a home and much to my dismay they are talking about rentals. This wasn't an open thread for that..HELP FIND LUCKEE A HOME! Sounds like a loving and good dog. Prayers!
9:45 Thank you !! And to all that take Luckee out. Thank you! The Humane Society depends so much on help from volunteers
ReplyDeleteand Bless each and every one of them that go to help the
animals in some way. It's so important to take them out
for walks. They go " cage crazy " if not exercised regularly. I
am retired so have the time to go over and do that .
Luckee , being a Sr. dog , and hearing he had to
be given up after soooo many years with an owner is a high priority to me so I try to focus on just him for now . I know the transmission had to be so very stressful on this dog too.
Luckee loves to go outside , take in all the smells and sounds. His eye sight and hearing both appear'very good. Sure doesn't look his age . He's been called the " Gentle Giant."
Employees there are sure hoping , as well as Many others, that
he gets to go to a caring home ASAP.
Hope someone out there can make that happen!
2:26pm you are a very special person...Thank You!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting Luckee and giving him the much needed exposure in the Salisbury community! This boy is absolutely amazing so laidback and gentle. He is a volunteer favorite already. He’s used to being in a home environment already and most likely house broken.
ReplyDeleteWould love for you to keep posting our dogs from
The shelter! Maybe a weekly post? Thank you!
Can't tell you how happy I was to
ReplyDeletehear this news!!!!! So glad he will
get the chance to live out his life in
a home environment .
Special Thanks to the couple that
adopted him and to you Joe for posting!
Thank you to whomever adopted that old soul and to you Joe for posting the story...you didn't have to...I hope that you continue to post animals in the shelters and give them the same chance at a forever home...your site has given so much assistance to animals. Great Job Joe and thank you!! Please think about 8:23pm's weekly post idea...
ReplyDelete8:23
ReplyDeleteIf we could get the shelter to send us the information and keep us updated when they are adopted that would be great.
