British Lawmaker Suspended After Footage Shows Him Grabbing Woman By Her Neck And Dragging Her Out Of A Room

A British lawmaker was suspended for grabbing a woman by the neck and physically forcing her out of a government black tie event Thursday.

Foreign Office Minister Mark Field, of Britain’s Conservative Party, was suspended from his position Friday by the Prime Minister’s office for his use of force on a female protester during a dinner at the Mansion House, according to The Associated Press.

Finance Minister Philip Hammond was addressing a group of foreign industry executives at the gala when several female climate activists wearing red dresses and sashes reading “Climate Change Emergency” stormed into the venue, interrupting the speech. One could be seen reading aloud from a sheet of paper as she entered the room.

When one of the activists, Janet Barker, approached Field’s side of the table, he rose from his chair and aggressively confronted her.

  4. I saw no dragging. I saw leading, guiding, forcefully removing..no dragging. He did nothing wrong. She shouldn't have been in there and he guided her to the door.

My, aren't you an anonymous bad-ass. Did your special forces training include how to crash a black tie event with political leaders present? Your "special forces' training should have trained you to react the same way to that protester at that event. Security at that event, if there was any, would have shot you dead for assaulting that politician for escorting you out of the event while you had no business being there. I think your "special forces training" was only how to run your mouth.

  8. Northwest Woodsman : I agree with those that consider his actions commendable. I can’t say that I would have been as restrained in my actions as he would. With regard to our “Special Forces” claimant, I actually am a 26 year army veteran that started my career with the 51st Special Operations Command and continued in the reconnaissance role as an aviator for 20 years. I do not attend veterans functions, wear a Vietnam veteran baseball cap, or tell war stories that get better each time told. I have been amazed by the sheer numbers of Special Forces claims that are phony. I have never met a Vietnam veteran who claims that he was a cook, clerk, truck driver or a mechanic.
Amazing because while I spent 30 months in country, there were not that many special ops troops involved. 5th SF Group was not a very large command, so I can’t figure out where they hid all these claimants. When these guys start telling war stories, I just walk away.
