Sacklers fleeing NYC following family’s OxyContin scandal

Former Manhattan society staples David and Joss Sackler are fleeing town and heading to Florida in a bid to escape the imperishable stain of their scandal-soaked family’s OxyContin business.

David — whose family’s company, Purdue Pharma, is accused of igniting the opioid crisis by aggressively marketing the powerful painkiller, then directing efforts to mislead the public about its dangers and addictive powers — and wife Joss had lived it up in a $6.5 million Upper East Side apartment.

The couple were mainstays on the New York social scene, big art patrons and donors to major museums including the Met, which named a wing after them.

  2. Who knows if theyare fleeing the scandal or the outrageous NY state taxes on the rich. The scandal will follow them and the NY taxman may try to do the same.

  4. I am sure they will take the money and run. Most of it is probably off shore anyway.
