You might not feel it yet, but the price of cannabis is crashing nationwide.
To see your future, just fly to Portland, OR, then take a Lyft to Floyd’s Fine Cannabis on NE Broadway St., and lay down $6 cash on the scratched glass display counter.
You’ll walk away with an eighth-ounce of Purple Punch in a little, black, plastic, child-resistant prescription pill bottle. It’ll feel like someone made a decimal error, and you won’t be able to contain your glee.
Eighth-ounces of grass used to cost as much as $60 under prohibition. In some parts of California, you can still find them as high as $100.

$6 for an 1/8 of an ounce. That is almost as cheap as it was in the 70's, without even considering inflation.
ReplyDeleteI better move to Portland. Delaware's Medical Marijuana facility charges $50.00 for a 1/8 of an ounce. We keep waiting for more dispensaries to open so the price will go down some but it is not looking hopeful. The program has been up and running for about 5 years now and we are still paying $50.00. I am considering moving to Maine or Vermont.
ReplyDeleteHow's it going in those places where people are allowed to grow their own, like DC, where up to six plants can be legally grown?
ReplyDeleteMy buddy lives out in Denver, and he says the prices have dropped steadily since legalization. He's getting an ounce for 70-80 with taxes included, high quality stuff.
ReplyDeleteMaryland's having only a very limited number of licensed growers keeps the prices high and the process in government grip, a leash around the necks of growers, dispensaries and licensed users.
ReplyDeleteAnd that 1/8 ounce is all bud, "no stems, no seeds that you don't need...". I didn't think I would live long enough to see it! Over the counter sales of the best weed ever produced.
