  3. Is this the first notification if she has been missing since January? With that much time elapsed could she be in another state with distant family or friends? See if she had reconnected with someone from her past maybe during the holidays preceding her missing. There have got to be clues someone knows something, check and re-check God Bless the family and all the loved ones.

  4. Is it necessary to divulge her medical history in a missing person’s notice? Does she like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain, too?

  5. Says she posted bail on 4/7/19. Is this the same person?

  6. This is just a covert APB. She’s evidently wanted by police, so Lewis puts out a press release claiming she’s missing and maybe in danger. Kinda like the “we’ll check your drugs or make sure they are real” gimmick they pulled.

  7. Did she work at Valero???

  8. Typical of the Sheriff's Office sit on a missing person case for months then crap their pants when the person turns up dead. If you want her found give the case to M.S.P..

  9. Wouldn't it be a violation of HIPA I guess that is how it is spelled to release medical information that really plays no role in located this women. This is a lot like the case a few years back the lady was never located. How long did the Sheriff's Office sit on that one. Most major agencies send M/P cases to the detectives right away. First 48 hours is crucial in any case. I guess you have to be friends with Lewis or wealthy to get immediate action. 7:31 did you grow up under the power lines or drinking Pittsville water either way you been watching way too much t.v. or something.

  10. 4:15 HIPPA only applies if you work in the medical field. If you overheard me telling someone I had herpes and you told someone else it would not be a HIPPA Violation. Now if I worked at a Hospital as a Janitor and saw your medical record on a PC as I was mopping the floor and I divulged that information that would be a HIPPA Violation.

If the people who reported her missing knew she had these conditions and shared it with the police that would not be a HIPPA Violation, nor would it be if the police shared it as none of them work in the medical field.

    1. Medical field? Maybe you should do more research and or study to make sure you are a educated commenter. You are soooo wrong on many levels. No employee at any job on any level can divulge medical info w/out consent except in exceptional circumstances.

  13. While healthcare providers, health plans, and business associates of covered entities can be fined, there are also potential fines for individuals who violate HIPAA Rules and criminal penalties may be appropriate. A jail term for violating HIPAA is a possibility, with some violations carrying a penalty of up to 10 years in jail.

  16. HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) is United States legislation that provides data privacy and security provisions for safeguarding medical information.

  18. First off it's HIPAA and it mostly has to do with health insurance and modernizing health care info for the public. There is a small part that deals with privacy. Almost everyone is mislead by it. It only applies to medical personnel and there are so many exceptions that if anyone thinks for one second their health info is private is living in LaLa Land. Like you instance your relatives can be told info BUT not on the phone. Only in person.
