Booker's campaign called it the "most sweeping gun violence prevention plan ever put forth by a presidential candidate," reports the Washington Examiner's Emily Larsen.
"As president, we will make commonsense changes to our gun laws such as requiring a license to purchase a gun that includes universal background checks, banning assault weapons, and closing the loopholes that allow domestic abusers and people on terrorist watch lists to get their hands on a gun," Booker said in a statement. "I am sick and tired of hearing thoughts and prayers for the communities that have been shattered by gun violence — it is time for bold action."
Several other Democratic presidential candidates, including Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., have proposed universal background checks and a ban on "assault weapons" as part of their campaign platforms, but Booker goes further in proposing a national firearm licensing system.More
Under the plan, individuals would need to submit fingerprints, complete a background check, and show completion of a certified gun safety course in order to obtain federal gun license. It would also limit gun purchasers to buying one handgun per month and ban "assault weapons," high-capacity magazines, and bump stocks. -Washington Examiner
Sounds like he is painting a target on himself.

ReplyDeleteSorry Mr. Booker. There is no such toy. There is no assault weapon being sold in America. The only "assault weapons" are in the hands of the police and military, oh, and the guards protecting the politicians.

ReplyDeleteCory Booger, aka Spartacus, is just pandering to the leftist crowd. The current game strategy for those in the SocialistDemocrat presidential candidate clown car is to spout policies, gimmes, and faux solutions that are further left than your competition's. That's it!
After the field is winnowed they'll drift back closer to the center. The leftist nut core will be displeased but will be without real options and will console themselves with the wishful radical pre-primary pandering.
Booger, a Yale Law School graduate, must have been hanging with his imaginary friend T-Bone instead of in class when/if the Second Amendment was discussed.
2A is simplicity itself:
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." That's it.
Booger needs to go back to his imaginary buddy and leave free Americans alone!
I like the part about "...bear arms...". Keep them in your house and BEAR them when you leave....
ReplyDeleteBear, as in "carry"....
There's your right to carry.
You ready for permission to speak, too, or to write a mean letter (for a fee)?.
That's next.
Keep cheering.
