A report published in the New York Times claims that Baltimore’s war on guns is almost exclusively conducted in black neighborhoods.
The report, written by Baynard Woods and Brandon Soderberg, says: “The war on guns, like the war on drugs, is primarily waged on poor people by small operations units that drive around in unmarked cars looking for trouble.” And the “poor people” being targeted in Baltimore are black people.
Woods and Soderberg claim the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force is doing the targeting; that they “called jump-out boys or knockers, and they do not respond to citizen calls.” Rather, they move undercover in the night, busting through doors to seize firearms in black neighborhoods.

Maybe because that is where the illegal guns are
ReplyDeleteI know right!
DeleteImplement a bullet exchange program like the needle exchange, turn in a spent case for a new one. Shooting will rise temporarily and then fall like a rock
DeleteIs there such thing as a "white neighborhood" in Baltimore?
ReplyDeletenot since the late 80s
DeleteWell now Baltimore is a Black City
ReplyDeleteLook at UCR report
Black offender Black victims
Even the X mayor is a thieving THUG .....PUGHHHH
DeleteWell that's where the criminals are.
ReplyDeleteDo no good unless they are punished harshly under the law. Gangs will have other guns before the Police gets the confiscated guns secure.
ReplyDeleteNorthwest Woodsman: if you do just a little research and also look at the reality that appears before your eyes, you will discover where the problem lies. Hint: There is a racial component to gun violence so look at FBI data that show who is committing the largest majority of gun violence and violent crime in general. I’m sure you already know, however the available data will provide stark proof of what I try to convey to people who don’t have a clue. TV, a six pack of Bud Lite and football and their life is complete.
ReplyDeleteYou left out that Cummings district is the most dangerous. They need to rid all guns from that black neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteDuh....I wonder why the black neighborhoods are targeted? Lemme think............I know.............because that's where the crimes are. Yeah, that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteAgain, the guns are to protect us from the GOVERNMENT.
ReplyDeleteThis story confirms that idea
Who needs guns more than people living in dangerous neighborhoods?
ReplyDeleteIs this profiling? Or simply going where the guns are? I guess it depends who you are to call it profiling.....
ReplyDeletecops going where the crime is, what a novel concept

ReplyDeleteOddly enough most of the killers also target the black neighborhoods. Cause? Effect?
12:33 not just Pugh. At least the last 3 Mayors. Dixon, and Rawlings Blake and Pugh. Who was the most corrupt? Well look no further then Cummings after all he has gotten away with it all for years. So until you start cleaning house at the top, it will not get any better.
ReplyDeleteNorthwest Woodsman: Profiling exists only because certain groups display a series of personality and behavioral characteristics that readily identify them with that group. Just happens naturally. I associate blacks with crime because at least 85% of the criminals I dealt with and arrested were black. I love it when during hours of darkness when you initiate a traffic stop on a violator, blacks will claim racial profiling when it is impossible to tell, through tinted windows, what race they are. Oh, by the way, they are usually driving with no license, or revoked/suspended. Very predictable. Don’t ever recall making a traffic stop on a black where all of their vehicle documents were in order.
