The Brussel Times reports that a new German study exposes how electric vehicles will hardly decrease CO2 emissions in Europe over the coming years, as the introduction of electric vehicles won't lead to a reduction in CO2 emissions from highway traffic.
According to the study directed by Christoph Buchal of the University of Cologne, published by the Ifo Institute in Munich last week, electric vehicles have "significantly higher CO2 emissions than diesel cars." That is due to the significant amount of energy used in the mining and processing of lithium, cobalt, and manganese, which are critical raw materials for the production of electric car batteries.
A battery pack for a Tesla Model 3 pollutes the climate with 11 to 15 tonnes of CO2. Each battery pack has a lifespan of approximately ten years and total mileage of 94,000, would mean 73 to 98 grams of CO2 per kilometer (116 to 156 grams of CO2 per mile), Buchal said. Add to this the CO2 emissions of the electricity from powerplants that power such vehicles, and the actual Tesla emissions could be between 156 to 180 grams of CO2 per kilometer (249 and 289 grams of CO2 per mile).

yes, the whole thing is a SHAM.
ReplyDelete3:17 You have no IDEA how much of a shame it is!!!! This does tap into the conspiracy part of things but I hear it first hand from people in California that see this stuff coming based on the laws being passed and the bills they find online...
ReplyDeleteI can assure you this, and this is no conspiracy, The govt is pushing green, and when I mean green it means electric stuff, all electric... Have you notices there are no energy efficient energy star rated propane systems, or oil systems or steam systems???? All electric. why???? Notice the grid power grid has to be and is begin upgraded, why??? not just because it is old, becasue it can;t handle all of the electric that will be going through it via the tracking systems soon to be implemented... That is why 5g is being pushed with no regulation or safety data... %g will give the govt the ability not that they don't already have it, to see things in real-time... People don't see that the pulses from smart meters, provided you have the right equipment developed, can track you and follow your heart beat, think I am lying, what do you think an EKG machine does??? Why is it that smart meters have to be installed in nefarious ways if they are so god damn awesome??? Why is it peoples houses were burning down at first??? Why is it they lie on their webbing about how many times and how much electromagnetic radiation these thing spits off???? And why do you all see your rates rise??? Don't be stupid, a smart meter needs to use electricity to transmit the data so you are paying for that usage to... Lets also not forget how easy smart meters are to be hacked and in fact you can mess with peoples accounts... Think on that for a while!!!!!
Yes this all sounds conspiratorial, but that is becasue you people think inside the box and are good little salves... You can't even fathom how evil some people are that work in high powers of office and what to do theses things to people... some do it for money to...
Here is a quote from a former State Department man named William Blum, he said and I quote "No Matter how paranoid or conspiracy-minded you are, what the government is actually doing is far worse than you can imagine."
Now think on that for a second....
Fellow travelers keep cheering
Delete3:59 I had a high efficiency energy star rated gas furnace installed two years ago.
DeleteAnd if I’m not mistaken, the majority of lithium comes from China. And China is a HUGE polluter.
ReplyDeleteOh my just had that same discussion with a tree hugging friend of mine yes friend they own ev's and I have diesel's.
ReplyDeleteHYBRID!!! It recovers WASTED energy rather than simply changing source.
ReplyDeleteNorthwest Woodsman: Good intentions that make them feel virtuous and never mind the consequences.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the CO2 per kilometer/mile of a gas and a diesel powered vehicle?
ReplyDeleteWell, in the words of Emily Latella: Isn't that special.
ReplyDeleteEmily Latilla's catchphrase was "Oh!...That's completely different...Never mind!" "Isn't that special" was the Church Lady.
