Democrats want $100 million to hand out free diapers

House Democrats want to spend $100 million to give away diapers to low-income families.

Reps. Barbara Lee of California and Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut on Thursday introduced the End Diaper Need Act. The bill is sponsored by other high-profile Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.

The bill would create a "$100 million demonstration program" aimed at distributing free diapers and related products to poor families.

A statement from Lee indicates the money would be sent to cities, states and nonprofit groups, which would then help distribute diapers.

  4. This is just another example of Democrats free spending. Cut these types of wasted spending bills and reduce the budget. If they are that poor why do they have more than 1 0r 2 children they can't afford. Democrats kill babies through abortion so they should fix these women. That would cost less and not kill babies while improving women's health. That is common sense.

  6. I remember when cotton diapers were washed in three different buckets and then dried on the outside cloths line (even in winter). My mother and grandmother and aunts all did this before disposable diapers. But then, that was considered normal housework and nobody gave it a second thought.

  7. NO. Work for a wage just like EVERYONE ELSE. No more handouts - stop having sex if you cannot afford children!

  9. Cortez should pay her taxes before asking American taxpayers to pay for diapers that not only are on welfare but have baby daddies. Doesn't the government already provide low income mom's with money according to their needs - meaning by the number of kids they have already.

  10. I used cloth diapers on 3 babies and used a wringer washer to do it and hung them out on a clothesline to dry. Disposable diapers were never even thought of.

  11. They should ban all disposable diapers. They are filling up the landfills. Make them use cloth diapers to save the planet. Oh wait...you will never get the snowflakes to do that!

  12. Ever seen what "poor people" do with dirty diapers? That's right, we all have.
