Northwest Woodsman: Wow about time! I joined the army in 1963 and left the state of Maryland, never to reside there again. Somewhere along the line, years later, I received a letter from the state claiming I owed them taxes even though I had not resided there for over six years. I had changed my residency to Florida (no state income tax) and maintained that as my state of residence until much later when I bought property in Texas and became a Texas resident. i never returned to Maryland except to pass through for a day or two and am glad that when I retired, I made the decision to settle in another state with no state income tax. Now that democrats have turned the Maryland into a Marxist paradise, I’m even more satisfied with my decision. Glad that my parents who were Salisbury residents didn’t live to see their beloved state turn into a failed experiment in socialist governing.
