A team of Israeli scientists claim they will likely develop a cure for cancer in the next year, The Jerusalem Post reported on Monday.
The new treatment is being developed by Accelerated Evolution Biotechnologies under the leadership of CEO Dr. Ilan Morad, according to the report.
“We believe we will offer in a year’s time a complete cure for cancer,” said Dan Aridor, chairman of the company’s board. “Our cancer cure will be effective from day one, will last a duration of a few weeks and will have no or minimal side-effects at a much lower cost than most other treatments on the market.”
The treatment, called MuTaTo, will use a combination of cancer-targeting peptides and a toxin that will specifically kill cancer cells.
The treatment will eventually be personalized and a specific cocktail of the drugs will be given to patients based on their type of cancer, Morad told the newspaper.

You have had a cure for decades. But you. Big pharma, insurance companies would have lost trillion of dollars.

DeleteIt's all about the $$, it's true. And if cancer is globally cured, the second greatest cause of death will be eliminated, bringing the world population to levels that will be hard to feed.
ReplyDeleteCancer is much more complicated than a "cure". So many different kinds of cancer to cure. There is no one magic bullet that will cure cancer.
ReplyDeleteIt can be, at this point, stopped for a duration of time by cancer drugs. I have 2 friends who were diagnosed over 2 years ago with stage 4 terminal metastisized cancer. Different kinds. And both are still alive thanks to drugs which stop the cancer from growing. But when the body rejects these meds. and it will , just you never know when,, it will spread fast. And it cannot cure the damage done in the bones and other areas of the body. They live with the pain from the damage already done.
A cure will only be if it's caught early. Very early and is only one type of cancer in one small area.
And imagine all the health care workers no longer needed.
ReplyDeleteDave T: Don't hold your breath. I'd doubt seriously our ailing healthcare community could care one bit about curing the disease. It's a vibrant business for them and their cronies in the pharmaceutical industry. In a society where killing the unborn is more legal now than ever, and includes harvesting of aborted infant body parts as another booming aspect of the medical business, I can't see any reason why the industry would sincerely aim to cure cancer. Actions speak much louder than words, and there has been plenty to see. Try another lie, maybe one that is actually believable.
