JAMIE L. DYKES SWORN IN AS STATE’S ATTORNEY FOR WICOMICO COUNTY
On January 7th, 2019, Jamie L. Dykes, a life-long Wicomico County resident recited the oath of office and officially became The State’s Attorney for Wicomico County. In what was a special occasion, Mrs. Dykes was sworn in by one of her former Assistant State’s Attorney, the recently elected Clerk of The Circuit Court, James “Bo” MacAllister. The ceremony itself was a special session of The Circuit Court for Wicomico County, presided over by the Honorable S. James Sarbanes, Administrative Judge for The Circuit Court. The ceremony was of particular historical significance, as Mrs. Dykes became the first woman elected to that position in the history of Wicomico County.
Mrs. Dykes was joined at the ceremony by a packed courtroom of family, friends, members of law enforcement, her newly sworn in Deputy State’s Attorney William McDermott and other prosecutors and staff of the Office of the State’s Attorney.
During her remarks she thanked her many supporters, the judges and all of the members of law enforcement. She reminded her staff of their heavy responsibilities and their commitment to making Wicomico County a safer place to live; stating, “together, we will make Wicomico County safer tomorrow than it is today”.
Mrs. Dykes had previously been unanimously appointed by the Circuit Court Judges as the Ad Interim State’s Attorney on December 1, 2017 and later secured a decisive election victory on November 6th, 2018.
Congratulations Jamie!

ReplyDeleteMcDermott is right where he belongs. Worcester has someone that will do the right thing(s) now.
DeleteIs the judge staring at her behind???
ReplyDeleteJamie's mother and father stood up for my husband and myself when we got married. I have followed her law career and can tell you she seems genuine and sincere, she will make this city proud. God Bless Burr, and her Mother Louise they did a fine job, quite a lady. Our Mayor could take a page from her book on what it means to truly serve this city, and do the right things. This mayor needs to look up the areas the city needs improvement, how he can make this city the best it can be and forget the selfies and desire for personal attention, more tourism is not what we need. Those that support him need to take time to think things through before they act on them, to ask is it going to correct wrongs, change laws on the books that don't work, and make changes where really needed. Forget the media attention and just do the job you were lucky enough to get, because you were not opposed. If you don't you will never ever get reelected.
ReplyDeleteJamie Dykes is not going anywhere
ReplyDelete3:39 PM: Additionally, the mayor should refrain from driving after consuming alcoholic beverages, causing him to run into a ditch, leave the scene and lie to the State Police regarding his involvement.

The same Jimmy Sarbanes that doesn't pay his bills and allowed his home to go into foreclosure?
