Poland, Austria to Quit UN Migration Compact: ‘We Want Poles to Be Safe in Their Own Country’

“We as the Republic of Austria can decide for ourselves on migration issues.”

Austria may join the U.S. and Hungary in withdrawing from the United Nations (UN) migration pact, Sebastian Kurz has said, following news that Poland is preparing to quit the agreement over security concerns.

At a press conference Wednesday, the Austrian leader cited concern over sovereignty relating to the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, which claims that huge movements of people across borders are “inevitable, necessary, and desirable”.

“We view some of the points in this agreement very critically. We will therefore do everything to maintain the sovereignty of our country and ensure that we as the Republic of Austria can decide for ourselves on migration issues,” Reuters reported the Chancellor as saying.

Speaking after a cabinet meeting, Kurz told journalists that the Danish government has expressed similar concerns over the agreement, which was previously signed by all UN member nations except the U.S., which withdrew last year.

Vice-chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache, from the populist Freedom Party, added that the government is looking into the legal implications of the document.

I Watched ‘Gosnell.’ Here Are My 5 Takeaways.

After I saw “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer,” I was disheartened—and at same time, incredibly thankful.

I’m thankful because finally, the horrific true story of Kermit Gosnell, the late-term Philadelphia abortionist who went to prison after being convicted in connection with the deaths of three babies, is being told.

But I’m depressed that such a story even exists.

EPIC! Kayne West Exposes Mind-Control Tactics of the Democrat Party’s Corrupt Media and Entertainment Mob

In an Epic Twitter Soliloquy, Kayne West Exposes the Mind-Control Tactics of the Democrat Party’s Corrupt Media and Entertainment Mob

Americans have frequently witnessed different versions of the Democrat Party ‘s political mobs, which take different forms and utilize different means to intimidate their targets, from the overtly violent paid protesters known as Antifa, who are currently threatening ICE Agents along innocent bystanders in Portland, OR, to the paid professional agitators that make up much of the Women’s March and Code Pink, who recently besieged Senators during Justice Kavanaugh’s confirmation process.

Trump snubs Feinstein, Harris to nominate conservative judges to liberal 9th Circuit

President Trump is plowing ahead to fill three vacancies on the liberal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, brushing aside Democratic resistance to nominate conservative judges.

Presidents traditionally work with senators from judicial nominees' home state -- in this case, California -- to put forward judicial picks. They often seek what's known as a "blue slip," or an opinion from those senators.

But in a snub to California Democratic Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris, the White House announced Wednesday that Trump had nominated Patrick Bumatay, Daniel Collins and Kenneth Kiyul Lee (all from the Golden State, and reportedly all members of the conservative Federalist Society) to the influential circuit. The court, with a sprawling purview representing nine Western states, has long been a thorn in the side of the Trump White House, with rulings against the travel ban and limits on funding to "sanctuary cities."

GOP critics have branded the court the “Nutty 9th,” in part because many of its rulings have been overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Sacramento Bee reported that White House officials had been negotiating with Feinstein and Harris about the appointments earlier in the year, but the dialogue collapsed over the summer.

Any working relationship is likely only to have soured further after Harris and Feinstein led the charge on the Senate Judiciary Committee against the confirmation of now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. In particular, Trump and Republicans accused Feinstein of withholding information about an allegation of sexual assault against Kavanaugh until after the hearings were over. Both Feinstein and Harris voted against Kavanaugh's nomination, joined by all but one Democratic senator.

Six Ways Nancy Pelosi Aims to Take Away Firearm Freedoms

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) believes securing gun control is more important than continuing to win elections and she supports numerous controls that will she undoubtedly pursue if Democrats gain control of the House.

The Washington Times reported that Pelosi reacted to the February 14, 2018, Parkland high school shooting by stressing that securing more gun control is a “higher [priority] than winning the next election.” In other words, she expressed willingness to trade her political career for the opportunity to restrict Americans’ Second Amendment rights.

Here are six gun controls Pelosi is certain to pursue if Democrats take control of Congress:

NETWORK OF GARBAGE: CNN Attacks Kanye Using Dead Mom, Mental Health, Wife's Ex-Lover

Every day is a new low for CNN.

The far-left network has launched a smear campaign against rapper Kanye West over his support for President Donald Trump, using racial slurs to attack him and suggesting that he is mentally ill.

The attack started on Tuesday when CNN host Don Lemon led a panel that mocked West — while Lemon laughed.

"Kanye West is what happens when Negroes don’t read," CNN’s Bakari Sellers said.

CNN’s Tara Setmayer declared West to be "the token Negro of the Trump administration," adding that "no one should be taking Kanye West seriously" because "he clearly has issues, he’s already been hospitalized."

'Something big is happening'

President Trump said Monday that he sees another groundswell of support for him building, and he promised “something big is happening.”

“The crowds at my Rallies are far bigger than they have ever been before, including the 2016 election,” the president tweeted.

His assessment of voter energy comes just three weeks before the Nov. 6 midterm elections when Republican control of the House and Senate are on the line.

“Never an empty seat in these large venues, many thousands of people watching screens outside. Enthusiasm & Spirit is through the roof. SOMETHING BIG IS HAPPENING - WATCH!” he tweeted.

Hugin Calls Out Menendez As ‘Hypocrite’ For Believing Ford But Not His Own Underage Accusers

New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez is being called out as a “hypocrite” in an ad released by his Republican opponent Bob Hugin for believing Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s sexual assault accuser even though Menendez faced allegations of sexual relations with minors.

The ad comes as Menendez was one of the first senators to publicly say he believedChristine Blasey Ford, the woman who accused Kavanaugh of high school-era sexual assault. After an FBI investigation could not find corroborating evidence of the claims, Menendez said “if that’s an investigation, it’s a bullsh*t investigation.”

However, years prior, a Department of Justice investigation against Menendez turned up with “corroborating evidence” that Menendez and a South Florida eye doctor, Salomon Melgen, used underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic. An FBI investigation, however, did not find corroborating evidence on this specific claim.

In the ad released Monday, Hugin calls out Menendez for his hypocrisy in relation to the two issues, asking Menendez about the underage girls who accused him of sexual misconduct and why their voices do not deserve to be heard.

West Virginia Is In A Full Blown Constitutional Crisis

West Virginia is in the grips of a constitutional crisis, as the state’s highest court effectively ended an impeachment proceeding against one of its own members.

The West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals ruled that the state legislature exceeded its authority in impeaching its own chief justice, Margaret Workman, for violations of the state judicial conduct code. Should Workman be removed from office, she would become the fourth justice in as many months to leave the court in disgrace.

West Virginia’s Supreme Court has been in a state of disarray since the summer. A full complement of duly elected justices sat on the court in June of this year: Workman and Justices Robin Jean Davis, Menis Ketchum, Beth Walker and Allen Loughry. Since then,Loughry and Ketchum have been convicted on fraud charges in federal court, Davis retired to avoid an impeachment trial, and Workman and Walker were impeached by the state legislature.

GOP Gov. Jim Justice appointed two interim justices to the vacant Davis and Ketchum seats in August. Workman appointed a third acting justice to replace Loughry.

Cornell professor: Media headlines 'overstate' Elizabeth Warren's DNA test results

The press is making too much of the DNA test results revealed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren, thatpurport to show she likely does have a distant ancestor who was Native American, according to Cornell Law professor William Jacobson.

Jacobson writes for the conservative blog Legal Insurrection and has attempted to trace Warren's lineage for years. He argued Monday that the results, which Warren released and had published in the Boston Globe, merely show she may have one single ancestor of Native American heritage six generations or more ago but said that report is not conclusive and that it would be inaccurate to say she proved her claims of lineage.

"Despite the weakness and speculative nature of the findings, media headlines are achieving Warren’s intended purpose of acting as if this is conclusive," wrote Jacobson.

'Hyper-alarming' study shows massive insect loss

Insects around the world are in a crisis, according to a small but growing number of long-term studies showing dramatic declines in invertebrate populations. A new report suggests that the problem is more widespread than scientists realized. Huge numbers of bugs have been lost in a pristine national forest in Puerto Rico, the study found, and the forest's insect-eating animals have gone missing, too.

In 2014, an international team of biologists estimated that, in the past 35 years, the abundance of invertebrates such as beetles and bees decreased by 45 percent. In places where long-term insect data are available, mainly in Europe, insect numbers are plummeting. A study last year showed a 76 percent decrease in flying insects in the past few decades in German nature preserves.

Closing in on Clinton-Justice Dept. Russia collusion conspiracy

Congressional Republicans are collecting evidence to show an extensive, election year, anti-Trump conspiracy between Hillary Clinton operatives such as Fusion GPS and Barack Obama appointees at the Justice Department and the FBI.

The investigation took a new turn last week. Fusion co-founder Glenn Simpson decided to invoke the Fifth Amendment rather than testify under subpoena before a special House Republican task force.

The Republicans see Mr. Simpson as the key middleman between Justice and the Clinton campaign. He orchestrated the Democrat-financed dossier on which the FBI built its early investigation of candidate Donald Trump. Republicans believe the unproven dossier, with its charge of extensive Trump-Russia collusion, is a sham perpetrated by Democrats and the press.

“Glenn Simpson was an absolutely essential figure in launching the entire Russia collusion hoax,” a Republican congressional staffer told The Washington Times.

Mr. Simpson decided to invoke his Fifth Amendment rights during the same week that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein balked at testifying. Republicans want information about his May 2017 meeting with then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. He said in a memo that Mr. Rosenstein talked of secretly recording the president, The New York Times reported.

Hamas Turns Israeli Border Into ‘24/7’ War Zone

Hamas has intensified its violent demonstrations against Israel, turning the border between the Jewish state and the Gaza Strip into a "24/7" war zone as the terrorist group amps up its efforts to kidnap Israeli soldiers, according to Israeli security sources and regional reports.

Hamas ramped up this past week its months-long violent demonstrations along the Gaza border as part of new plans to "kidnap soldiers so that it will have a bargaining chip to use against Israel for speeding up the removal of the blockade," according to an investigation into new ways Hamas is probing Israel's defenses provided by the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, or JCPA, a security research institute.

Violence raged throughout the weekend and into late Monday, with some 20,000 Palestinians participating in the demonstration, which have grown increasingly violent as Hamas operatives begin to deploy explosive devices, grenades, incendiary balloons, and other makeshift weapons.

Hamas's goal is create as much confusion and violence on the border as possible to elicit a response from the Israeli Defense Forces that could provide the terror group with an opportunity to kidnap soldiers. The renewed border violence is part of an effort by Hamas to test Israel's will and provoke a violent response.

Sessions: MS-13 Gang, Drug Cartels Among Top Threats to US

Attorney General Jeff Sessions created a new task force aimed at zeroing in on the three of the world's most notorious drug cartels and the brutal MS-13 street gang, already considered a top priority for federal law enforcement.

Speaking to a group of federal prosecutors on Monday, Sessions designated five groups as top transnational organized crime threats and said the new task force will "develop a plan to take each of these groups off of our streets for good."

Sessions, who been on the receiving end of relentless verbal jabs from President Donald Trump and may be in the final stretches of his tenure, was speaking directly to one of the president's prime targets amid the administration's broader crackdown on immigration: MS-13.

Trump has said MS-13 gang members from the stronghold of El Salvador are coming to the U.S. both illegally and as unaccompanied minors to wreak havoc. He has held up the gang as a reason for stricter immigration policies meted out by Sessions and others.

"With more than 10,000 members in the United States, this gang is the most violent gang in America today," Sessions said.

PIERS MORGAN: Hillary Clinton's shameless defense of Bill’s abuse

Then imagine if it emerged that most of those ‘sexual relations’ had taken place in the Oval Office, the most powerful and revered room in America?

And finally, imagine if luridly unedifying details of the affair began to spill out revealing how the President spoke on the phone with members of Congress while receiving oral sex from the intern and used a cigar on her as a sexual tool?

All hell would break loose, right?

I mean, there would literally be the outrage equivalent of 1000 volcanoes simultaneously erupting.

State of Maryland Sues EPA for Refusing to Control Upwind NOx Emissions

BALTIMORE, MD - Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh today announced that the State of Maryland has sought judicial review, in the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, of the Environmental Protection Agency’s decision to deny Maryland’s petition for relief under Section 126 of the Clean Air Act. The petition had asked EPA to impose additional controls on upwind emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx), which are a precursor to the ozone that plagues Maryland when the weather is warm.

“EPA’s decision to deny our petition gives a green light to out-of-state power plants to continue sending their pollution downwind to Maryland. Maryland strictly controls NOx emissions within its own boundaries, but other states need to do their part to keep ozone levels down,” said Attorney General Frosh. “Requiring power plants to implement common sense standards to reduce harmful emissions is the responsibility of EPA. Today, with the Maryland Department of the Environment, we are appealing EPA’s decision to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit to protect Marylanders from the negative health consequences of other states’ pollution.”

Failing to meet work requirement, 4,000 more Arkansans dropped from Medicaid

Another 4,109 people in Arkansas will be removed from the Medicaid program after failing to meet the state's work requirement, bringing the total number to 8,462 four months into implementation of the requirements, new state data show.

Arkansas was the first state to require certain Medicaid enrollees work or train for work as a condition of staying enrolled in the program. People on Medicaid in Arkansas have to log their hours online, and if they fail to do so, they are taken out of the program and are not allowed to re-enroll until the following year.

State officials said some people who didn't log their hours had moved to another state, obtained a job, or increased their salary and no longer qualified, while others had failed to either fulfill the requirement or to log it.

About 73,266 people on Medicaid were originally subject to the requirement to work, volunteer, or take classes as a condition of staying enrolled in the program, and 52,714 of them were exempt from reporting because they were already meeting the requirement or because the state exempted them.

The report from the state shows 1,532 people reported their hours and 16,757 did not. People are not kicked off of Medicaid until they fail to report for three consecutive months.

The FBI, The DOJ And Hillary Clinton’s HUGE Weiner Problem

Remember Anthony Weiner, also known as “Carlos Danger” — the former congressman who kept texting people pictures of well, umm, that part of his name? It all made quite the splash because he is married to Hillary Clinton’s consigliere and constant sidekick, Huma Abedin.

Turns out that Anthony was such a perp — and so enthralled with his own — that he was sexting with a minor. That is a federal offense carrying up to 10 years in prison. So, he got raided by the New York Police Department and the New York office of the FBI.

They seized his laptop computer. It would have been bad enough if it had only had contained all his porn. But it posed a huge problem for the FBI, DOJ and Mrs. Clinton.

Comey had already exonerated Hillary of her blatant Espionage Act violations and obstruction of justice violations two months before — in time for her to wrap up the election they all expected and wanted her to win.

McCarthy: Soros, Bloomberg, Steyer ‘Trying to Buy our Government’

House Majority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) warned in an interview with Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures host Maria Bartiromo that far-left billionaires George Soros, Michael Bloomberg, and Tom Steyer are pouring millions into Democrat committees this election cycle in a bid to “buy our government.”

A partial transcript is as follows:

BARTIROMO: Here we are, 23 days away from the midterms. Let’s start there. I know that you’ve been traveling the country trying to support your colleagues across the country in different races, as well as raising an enormous amount of money for your colleagues in the Republican Party. Give us a sentiment in terms of where you see the midterms headed.

MCCARTHY: I see the midterms have actually changed in the last month. The intensity level — there was an advantage on the Democrat side that has narrowed, viewing what the Democrats have done to Kavanaugh. I see the intensity level shifting.

There is a real concern that I have, though, because Michael Bloomberg, if you watch — who recently re-registered as Democrat — he is trying to buy the Democrat nomination to run against President Trump. He has put in $80 million to try to win the House.

Donald Trump Causes His Opponents to Self-Destruct

RUSH: Let me ask you a question. How long has the media been telling us that it’s only a question of time that something happens that will make Donald Trump self-destruct? They’ve been telling us this since prior to the presidential election. They’ve been telling us since the campaign, since Trump came down the escalator three years ago, June of 2015. The media has been telling us and noted experts in the Washington establishment have been telling us that it’s Trump who’s gonna self-destruct.

Something’s gonna happen and Trump’s gonna blow up and we’re gonna see who the real Trump is, and everybody’s gonna be shocked and surprised and saddened, and then everybody’s gonna want Trump swept away. But it never happens. It never happens. Instead (chuckles), we keep watching his critics self-destruct. Trump’s opponents melt down now practically every day over the fact that Trump isn’t melting down.

They melt down over the fact that they can’t make Trump melt down. Latest example, Fauxcahontas herself. You want to talk about melting down and self-destruction, you are looking at it. Elizabeth Warren… You know what I think? I think there are four women here that attempted, essentially, an October Surprise against Donald Trump, and they’ve all bombed out. We had Hillary, Dianne Feinstein, Fauxcahontas, and who’s the other? There’s one other woman. They’ve all mounted things.

Medicare open enrollment begins: Patient costs to rise slightly in 2019

Medicare enrollees will be paying slightly more for their coverage in 2019, the Trump administration announced just ahead of the signup period that began Monday.

Medicare is divided into various parts according to the type of medical care it provides, and people who enroll can choose the traditional Medicare or can buy Medicare Advantage, which is run by private plans. Beneficiaries pay premiums for Medicare Part B, which covers care from doctors, hospitals, medical supplies, and certain home health services.

The standard cost for 2019 will be $135.50 a month, a slight increase from the 2018 cost of $134 a month. About 2 million Medicare enrollees won't pay the full premium because of their income. Annual deductibles, or the out-of-pocket amount that people pay before an insurer kicks in the rest, also will rise slightly to $185, from the $183 a month beneficiaries paid in 2018.

The vast majority of those enrolled in Medicare Part A don't pay a premium but will pay deductibles toward a skilled nursing facility, home health services, and inpatient hospital care. That amount also will increase slightly next year, by $24, to $1,364.

Students "Feel Unsafe" - Start Petition To Rename 'Clarence Thomas' Building

A Change.org petition calls for the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia to remove the name of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, a Savannah area native, from one of the school’s buildings because it alleges he is a "sexual predator."

Sage Lucero, a 2018 SCAD graduate, started the petition, titled, “Take A Sexual Predator’s Name Off of SCAD’s Building,” which calls on the school to rename the Clarence Thomas Center for Historic Preservation.

During a phone interview with Campus Reform, Lucero said the petition is a way “to really start a conversation around the way in which we talk about wom[e]n... and the way in which we advocate for women's rights and diversity.”

Lucero added that the petition was “not so much [about] politics but more so about wom[e]n." Not only was the goal to remove Thomas' name from the building, but "even more so to start that conversation regarding the bigger issue here."

“It's a small building that most people don't go to," Lucero said. “Everyone who goes to the university mostly is unaware that the name of the building had the namesake of him [Justice Clarence Thomas].”

Lucero also told Campus Reform that “many of the students feel unsafe about the building” name.

Lucero writes on the Change.org petition description that until the recent controversy involving decades-old sexual assault allegations against then-Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, she "wasn't aware" of the fact that a building on the school's campus bore Thomas' name.

"The case between Clarence Thomas and Anita Hill in 1991 was extremely similar to what is happening to Dr. Ford today. When it was time for Thomas to become an associate justice of the supreme court, Anita Hill, a law professor at the University of Oklahoma, came forward with accusations that Clarence Thomas had sexually harassed her," Lucero writes.

FBI Finally Fires Its Point Man In The Clinton Coverup And Russia-Collusion Concoction

On Friday, the FBI finally fired Agent Peter Strzok — the Trump-hater at the epicenter of the Clinton email coverup, the creation of the Russia-collusion lie, investigator on Mueller’s hitsquad, and interviewer of General Flynn.

What a guy! From his frequently-pronounced demonical appearance to his hate-filledmessages expressing his rage, contempt and disdain for Mr. Trump and determination to “stop” him, Strzok personified the politicization and weaponization of the FBI and Department of Justice that Trump was elected to terminate.

Agent Strzok, however, did far more than just exchange hateful text messages about Donald Trump and his supporters. Strzok was the point-person for many of the outrageous actionstaken within the FBI and the Department of Justice to protect Hillary Clinton at all costs and to destroy the Trump candidacy and presidency.

Bill and Hillary: Good at being bad

The American conservative community is rejoicing over the belated news that Hillary Clinton supposedly volunteered to surrender her high-level security clearance back in August at the same time the clearances of five of her staffers were lifted. Those of you thinking we might have finally skunked the queen of political skunks had better take a deep breath and realize that, once again, the Clintons are attempting to pull another fast one on the American public.

While the employable dollar worth of Hillary's five staffers' is now seriously reduced by the loss of those high-level clearances, the Queen of Sore Losers is not negatively impacted in any way. How can this be, you ask? Well, she is still married to predator-in-chief, Bill Clinton, who presumably still has his access to the inner sanctums of American intelligence operations, as do most ex-POTUSes. Frankly, I don't know how broad or deep this ex-POTUS privilege of access to current intelligence is because the principle of need to know generally limits the dissemination of classified material to those who have a role in acting on such intelligence. But there is no doubt in my mind that the Clintons, thoroughly practiced grifters that they are, as well as their increasingly shady daughter, will not hesitate to use such classified information as they may be able to access for personal and political enrichment. They've been doing it for decades, and they're not about to stop now.

'Disappearing' Dr. Kermit Gosnell

The story was under-reported when it happened. Now the movie is being deliberately hidden.

There was blood on the floor. A stench of urine filled the air. A flea-infested cat was wandering through the facility, and there were cat feces on the stairs. Semi-conscious women scheduled for abortions were moaning in the waiting room or the recovery room, where they sat on dirty recliners covered with blood-stained blankets.” —what FBI and Pennsylvania Department of Health officials stated they saw upon raiding the abortion clinic of Dr. Kermit Gosnell on Feb. 18, 2010

“Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer” premiered last Friday. It chronicles the shockingly true story of a man convicted of murder for killing babies born alive following abortions, involuntary manslaughter for the death of 41-year-old Nepalese refugee Karnamaya Mongar following a botched abortion procedure, and several felony counts for performing late-term abortions past the 24 week gestation limit imposed by Pennsylvania law. In 2013, Gosnell was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Like the vastly under-reported story it was when it occurred, the same American leftists and their media allies who view abortion as something akin to a religious sacrament hope the movie suffers a similar fate.

In fact, leftists have attempted to abet that scenario...

South African court hears about brilliant student who was gang raped

A brilliant student was kidnapped, gang raped and murdered after giving a pal a lift home to stop robbers stealing his skateboard, a court in South Africa heard.

Hannah Cornelius, 21, pulled up outside the flat of fellow student Cheslin Marsh, 22, at midnight when a group of four men rushed her car.

They put a screwdriver to her chest through the open window and opened the passenger door and put a knife to the back of Mr Marsh and threatened to kill him.

The Western Cape High Court in Cape Town heard one of the gang shouted at him: 'Sit still or she dies'.

Mr Marsh was robbed of cash and his phone and locked in the car boot and then the four men drove to a drug dealers home to buy drugs and smoked crystal meth.

Husband Wrestles Gun from Wife's Attacker, Shoots Him Dead

A husband in Atlanta is hospitalized after wrestling a gun from his wife’s attacker and shooting him dead.

The woman, who was shot in the arm before her husband took control of the gun, is also in the hospital.

Fox 5 Atlanta reports that a renter inside a home on Donnebrook Lane began arguing with the man’s wife, then allegedly “threatened to kill her.” Police indicate the suspect shot the woman in the arm before the husband confiscated his gun and shot him.

The suspect “then burst through a window, and died in the backyard.”

The Daily Mail quotes Atlanta Police Major Michael O’Connor saying the suspect “didn’t get very far – a few feet” after jumping through the window. He added, “The male who was in the backyard was believed to be either renting or in the rooming house but he’s not related to them.”

Chaffetz: Attorney General Sessions needs to go – Here’s why

The damage was done more than a year ago. But the bill is just now coming due.

With the refusal of Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson last week to comply with a congressional subpoena, the deliberate destruction of congressional subpoena power is laid bare.

The blame should fall squarely on Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Why have Simpson, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, Christine Blasey Ford (who accused now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault) and many others refused to cooperate or attempted to dictate the terms and timing of their own testimony? Because Congress has given up the power to compel them.

As I described in my book “The Deep State,” one of the key moments that led to my early departure from Congress and the House Oversight Committee came when Sessions inexplicably refused to prosecute subversions of congressional authority. I knew what that decision would cost Congress and the public.

Without enforcement of congressional subpoenas, the impotence of Congress to compel evidence is revealed. And the ability to perform substantive oversight is compromised.

Anyone could have seen this coming. The moment Attorney General Sessions told me he had no intention of prosecuting Clinton IT aide Brian Pagliano, I knew the battle was lost. Pagliano refused to even appear before Congress – not once, but twice.

Pilot Lands A Plane Sideways At Bristol Airport

On October 12, a pilot for TUI Airways executed a sideways landing at Bristol Airport in the UK during Storm Callum.

The tower lists the winds at 180 degrees at 26 knots gusting to 40 knots, so for a runway configuration like Bristol, that's a direct crosswind. This pilot had to land the Boeing 767 sideways on a wet runway.

Hillary Continues to Absolve Bill of Any #MeToo Guilt

The biggest apologist for Bill Clinton’s record of sexual misconduct has been and remains to this day Hillary Clinton; she’s still standing by her man. In an interview on CBS’s “Sunday Morning,” Hillary was asked by Tony Dokoupil, “In retrospect, do you think Bill should’ve resigned in the wake of the Monica Lewinsky scandal?” “Absolutely not,” Hillary responded. Dokoupil then asked, “It wasn’t an abuse of power?” Clinton shot back, “No. No.” Once again Dokoupil pressed the issue, noting, “There are people who look at the incident of the ‘90s and they say, 'A president of the United States cannot have a consensual relationship with an intern; the power imbalance is too great.’” “Who was an adult,” Hillary interjected.

Wait a second — wasn’t the #MeToo movement ignited precisely because of instances of powerful men using their positions of influence to take advantage of women in vulnerable positions beneath them? The Clinton/Lewinsky scandal is a textbook example — she was a 22-year-old intern and he was the 49-year-old president of the United States. And that’s not to mention Bill’s even more horrific record when he was governor of Arkansas.

Graham Taking DNA Test to See If He Has More Native American Heritage than Warren

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham took a shot at Sen. Elizabeth Warren by telling Fox News on Tuesday that he intends to take a DNA test because he thinks he can “beat” the Massachusetts Senator’s amount of Native American heritage.

“I’ve been told that my grandmother was part Cherokee Indian, it may all be just talk, but you’re gonna find out in a couple of weeks because I’m gonna take this test,” the Republican senator said on Fox and Friends.

“She’s less than one-tenth of one percent, I think I can beat her,” Graham said of his Democrat colleague.

Elizabeth Warren Was Celebrated as ‘First Woman of Color’ at Harvard Law

In 1993, the Harvard Crimson reported that the “Law School faculty voted yesterday to offer a tenured position to Visiting Professor of Law Elizabeth Warren.”

The article goes on to celebrate that this hiring “marks an advance in the student and faculty effort to improve faculty diversity[.]”

Warren began teaching at Harvard in 1995. Then…

In 1995, an article in the Harvard Crimson celebrated Warren as “Native American.”

Then, a 1996 piece in Fordham Law Review celebrated Warren as Harvard Law School’s “first woman of color.”

On top of this, there is also a 1999 Affirmative Action Plan Book published by Harvard that appears to identify Warren as Native American. Her name is not listed, but it could not possibly be anyone else.

As more newspapers fail, news 'deserts' expand in US

More than 1,800 US newspapers have closed since 2004, leaving expanding "news deserts" with little or no local reporting on public affairs, researchers said in a report Monday.

The study by the University of North Carolina School of Media and Journalism, an update of a 2016 paper, found that more than one-fifth of local dailies or weeklies had been shuttered in a decade and a half.

As a result, "thousands of our communities (are) at risk of becoming news deserts," the report said.

Half of the 3,143 counties in the United States now have only one newspaper, usually a small weekly, and almost 200 counties in the country have no newspaper at all.

"The people with the least access to local news are often the most vulnerable -- the poorest, least educated and most isolated," the report said.

Northbound migrant group doubles in size, enters Guatemala

Up to 3,000 migrants crossed from Honduras into Guatemala on Monday on a trek northward, after a standoff with police in riot gear and warnings from Washington that migrants should not try to enter the United States illegally.

The crowd more than doubled in size from Saturday, when some 1,300 people set off from northern Honduras in what has been dubbed "March of the Migrant," an organizer said. The migrants plan to seek refugee status in Mexico or pass through to the United States.

The impoverished nations of Central America, from which thousands of migrants have fled in recent years, are under mounting pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump's administration to do more to curb mass migration.

"We are seriously concerned about the caravan of migrants traveling north from Honduras, with false promises of entering the United States by those who seek to exploit their compatriots," the U.S. Embassy in Honduras said in a statement on Sunday evening.

Mexico's migration institute said in a statement on Monday that march participants would need to follow immigration rules to enter the country, without specifying the criteria.

"The law does not provide for any permission to enter the country without meeting the requirements, and then go on to a third country," the government agency said.

More Major Control Issues From Wicomico County Council

Marc Kilmer, Wicomico County Council

Question B on this year's ballot involves transfers of appropriations. The first part would require the executive to notify the council within 15 days if he or she transfers money within an agency or a department. The council approves the budget, and this would merely be a way for it to be informed if the executive finds it necessary to shift money around within a department's budget.

The second part of Question B would require council approval if the executive desires to transfer a depreciable asset, such as a vehicle or machinery, between departments. The asset must have a value over $15,000. The charter already requires that the executive seek council approval for a monetary transfer between departments. This question would close a loophole that allows assets to be transferred without council approval. If there is an emergency situation that calls for such a transfer, council approval would not be required.

Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill To Take Place on Thursday

MEMA Encourages All Maryland

Residents to Participate

(REISTERSTOWN, Md.)  – Powerful earthquakes are not common in the Mid-Atlantic Region, but the August, 2011 tremor near Mineral, VA, reminded us that we are not immune from the effects of an earthquake. That is why the Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) is urging Marylander’s to participate in Thursday’s Great ShakeOut Drill.
On October 18th at 10:18 a.m. local time, we ask that you join us when we drop, cover, and hold on for earthquake preparedness;
  • DROP to the ground (before the earthquake drops you!),
  • Take COVER by getting under a sturdy desk or table, and
  • HOLD ON to it until the shaking stops.
MEMA is proud to join FEMA and the Ready Campaign PrepareAthon to promote Earthquake Preparedness this October and is encouraging everyone to take part in The Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills occurring across the county on October 18th at 10:18 a.m.
“Strong earthquakes are not common in this area, but I am sure many of us remember where we were on August 23, 2011,” said MEMA Executive Director Russ Strickland. “That was a wake-up call for those of us in the Maryland area to learn what to do – and what not to do – during an earthquake.”
One of the most frightening and destructive phenomena of nature is a severe earthquake and its terrible after effects.  Earthquakes can happen at any time of the year and at any time during the day. You could be at work, school, or at home. It is impossible to predict when or where an earthquake will occur, so it is important that you and your family are prepared ahead of time.
A key aspect of the Great ShakeOut is the integration of comprehensive science-based earthquake research and the lessons learned from decades of social science research about why people get prepared.  The result is a “teachable moment” on par with having an actual earthquake (often followed by increased interest in getting ready for earthquakes). ShakeOut creates the sense of urgency that is needed for people, organizations, and communities to get prepared, to practice what to do to be safe, and to learn what plans need to be improved.

Two men charged with identity theft in Georgetown

Two men were charged with identity theft Oct. 9 after police say they found 122 SIM cards in the vehicle.

Georgetown police stopped the car for a traffic violation near County Seat Highway when they detected the odor of marijuana, said Detective Joey Melvin of the Georgetown Police Department.

During a search of the vehicle, Melvin said, police found a laptop computer and 122 SIM cards. Melvin said the men had cataloged personal information of numerous victims on the laptop with intent on using the information to activate the SIM cards on cell phones. Officers also identified several addresses locally where cell phones had been shipped that the men were planning to retrieve, he said. After retrieving the cell phones and activating the SIM cards with stolen personal information, Melvin said, the cell phones would be sold on the internet.

Police charged Allan Castillo, 28, and Andrea Villar-Martinez, 31, both of the Dominican Republic, with 16 counts of felony identity theft, 16 counts of second-degree conspiracy and possession of marijuana.

Castillo and Villar-Martinez were both arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $64,500 cash bail.

The investigation is ongoing and Georgetown police are working in conjunction with Homeland Security Investigations Delaware.

Devon T. Morris
Seaford- The Delaware State Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the pictured suspect who is wanted in connection with a hit and run crash.
The incident occurred on Monday October 15, 2018 at approximately 3:53 p.m. as members of the Sussex Governor’s Task Force were patrolling the Concord area and observed a red Chevrolet Malibu traveling on Concord Road. Polio-like virus being reported in children in Maryland, Health Department says

State health officials say there are possible cases of an extremely rare polio-like illness in children being reported in Maryland. It's called acute flaccid myelitis, or AFM, and it can cause partial paralysis.

Health departments are investigating suspected cases in more than 25 states.

The condition comes on suddenly and causes symptoms including dizziness, trouble swallowing, facial droop and the inability to move an arm or even walk. As Mercy Medical Center pediatrician Dr. Ashanti Woods explained, it behaves a lot like polio.

"It's caused by something called enterovirus, and enterovirus is what causes the common cold. For most people, they're just going to get a runny nose, sneezing, cough (and) congestion, but if the virus invades the spinal cord, the nervous system, that's when we start to get some of the symptoms of AFM," Woods said.

AFM does not spread the same way a typical cold virus spreads, from coughing or sneezing. It is spread through contaminated feces and a lack of hand washing, which is likely why it is being seen more in children, according to Woods.

According to the state health department, right now, there have been four possible cases of AFM in Maryland this year. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating. Nationwide, health officials have investigated or reported at least 87 cases in 26 states.

Former officer charged with falsifying overtime documents

News Release: Former officer charged with falsifying overtime documents; Clate Moton-Jackson pleaded guilty today to misconduct in office

A former Howard County police officer pleaded guilty today to misconduct in office for falsifying overtime documents and taking payments he did not earn from the police department. Clate Moton-Jackson, 41, of Sabillasville, was charged criminally with one misdemeanor count and has been ordered to pay $15,000 restitution as part of his plea agreement.

The investigation began internally in July 2017 when it came to the department’s attention that Moton-Jackson had provided false information to the agency. A review of his departmental paperwork by the internal affairs division revealed inconsistencies in Moton-Jackson’s overtime documentation and his actual work hours. Moton-Jackson worked at an off-site location as a computer crimes investigator in the digital forensics unit. He was transferred to an administrative assignment at the onset of the investigation.

Upon learning the scope of the case, internal investigators contacted the criminal investigations bureau for a formal criminal investigation. The case was later sent to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office for prosecution through the Howard County State’s Attorney’s Office, as the two prosecutors have a reciprocal agreement to impartially handle some criminal matters involving police officers.

The investigation revealed through video footage and key access records to Moton-Jackson’s work facility that there were multiple dates he had claimed to be working, but had never been at the building. On each of those dates, he submitted falsified pay records totaling more than $27,000.

Moton-Jackson, who was a 14-year-veteran at the rank of police officer first class, left the agency Oct. 14 as part of his plea agreement.

Subject: In Fundraising Email for Hurricane Relief, Bill Nelson Directs Users to Group That Builds Donor Lists for Dem Campaigns

Sen. Bill Nelson (D., Fla.) on Wednesday sent out an email encouraging people to donate money for hurricane disaster relief with a list of nonprofit groups that provide aid, but he did not disclose that the links for each group direct users to the website of ActBlue, an organization that helps Democrats raise money and saves donor emails for future fundraising efforts.

Hurricane Michael hit Florida on Wednesday as a category 4 storm, leaving hundreds of thousands of Floridians without power and killing at least four people in the state. After the storm devastated the Florida Panhandle, it hammered Georgia, the Carolinas, and Virginia, killing at least another two people—a child in Georgia and a man in North Carolina. In total, nearly 1.1 million people in six states have been left without power.

Within hours of the storm hitting, Nelson sent out an email with a list of nonprofit organizations, which he said are "vital resources for people who need help." The nonprofits include American Red Cross, Big Bend Homeless Coalition, Florida Disaster Fund, and Team Rubicon, among others.

Each organization has a link that sends users to a page on ActBlue's website asking people to donate to hurricane relief efforts.
