Seaford- The Delaware State Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the pictured suspect who is wanted in connection with a hit and run crash.
The incident occurred on Monday October 15, 2018 at approximately 3:53 p.m. as members of the Sussex Governor’s Task Force were patrolling the Concord area and observed a red Chevrolet Malibu traveling on Concord Road. Detectives observed that the vehicle had window tint and conducted a registration check which revealed that the vehicle did not have a tint waiver. Detectives attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the vehicle refused to pull over.
As the vehicle continued to flee, it approached the intersection of Old Furnace Road and Middleford Road and attempted to pass a school bus on the shoulder. The school bus was stopped for the stop sign at the intersection. The fleeing suspect vehicle struck the right front tire of the school bus causing minor damage to the front wheel of the school bus. The bus driver along with three occupants were not injured.
The suspect vehicle continued to flee and was located abandoned near Eskridge Road. Through investigative measures, Troopers identified the driver as 24-year-old Devon T. Morris of Seaford.
Troopers have been unable to locate Morris who currently has active warrants out of Troop 4 for the following:
- Disregarding a Police Officer Signal
- Reckless Endangering Second Degree (4 counts)
- Resisting Arrest
- Leaving the Scene of Property Collision Accident
- Driving While Suspended or Revoked
- Other traffic related offenses
Prior to this incident, Morris had an active capias out of Superior Court as well as a warrant from Troop 4 for Resisting Arrest and Reckless Driving.
