Here’s How A Suspected ISIS Fighter Ended Up In The US As A Refugee
The process for Iraqi national Omar Adbulsattar Ameen to enter the U.S. was simple: All the suspected Islamic State fighter had to do was lie on his United Nations applications for refugee status and during interviews with U.S. Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS) officials, according to the Department of Justice.
Ameen, who was arrested in California on Wednesday on an outstanding murder warrant in Iraq, claimed he was not a member of ISIS or al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI). He also denied taking part in any terrorist or criminal activity in Iraq.
In order to meet the physical safety requirement to qualify as a refugee, Ameen, 45, claimed his father had been murdered while helping the American military and that his brother had been kidnapped by a terrorist group affiliated with radical cleric Muqtada al Sadr.
But all of that was a lie, according to the Justice Department.

CHRISTOPHER STEELE TOLD DOJ’S BRUCE OHR HE WAS ‘AFRAID THEY WILL BE EXPOSED’ AFTER COMEY’S FIRING
Dossier author Christopher Steele told Justice Department official Bruce Ohr after James Comey’s firing last year that he was “afraid they will be exposed.”
What exactly Steele was concerned about having exposed after Comey’s May 9, 2017 firing is not made clear in Ohr’s notes, which were reported by Fox News.
The text message is part of a trove of emails, text messages and handwritten notes that the Justice Department has provided to Congress as part of an investigation into the government’s handling of the Steele dossier.
Steele told Ohr in a May 10, 2017 phone call that he was “very concerned abt Comey’s firing — afraid they will be exposed,” according to Fox.

"Herculean" research finally sequences wheat genome after 13 years of work
After a massive international effort involving over 200 scientists across 20 countries, the entire wheat genome has finally been sequenced. Described as a "Herculean challenge," the wheat genome is known to be five times larger than its human counterpart and exponentially more complex. The landmark human achievement is hoped to lead to more efficient wheat breeding and production of crops.
Wheat is arguably one of the most important human food crops in the world today, contributing to around 20 percent of all the calories we collectively consume, and providing more protein to the world's population than meat. Understanding its genome is of great value in better guiding selective breeding of varieties that can enhance yields and help our food growers adapt to a rapidly changing climate.
Despite initially compiling the raw genomic data almost a decade ago, the scale and complexity of the wheat genome has proved a challenge in accurately assembling that data into applicable chromosomes. The final results, recently published in the prestigious journal Science, outlines a sequence of 21 chromosomes, including more than 4 million molecular markers, and well over 100,000 specifically located genes.

Numerous children have been poisoned by lead in homes approved by D.C. housing inspectors
Chanelle Mattocks remembers everything about that night in 2014, when lead poisoned her son.
She was giving Alonzo, then 3, a bath in a tub that her landlord had just painted to pass a housing inspection. She turned to find a washcloth, and when she swiveled back, she found the boy with bits of peeling paint in his mouth. She tried get it out, but it was too late.
The lead tests came back positive: Alonzo had more than double what the government defines as “elevated,” and he hasn’t been the same since.
Between March 2013 and March 2018, at least 41 families discovered that their homes, subsidized by a housing voucher and approved by city inspectors, contained lead contaminants, according to a tabulation requested by The Washington Post through the Freedom of Information Act.
The District Department of Energy and Environment, which performed the count and the testing, said it inspected about half of the homes because a child living at the property, or visiting it often, had tested positive for elevated levels of lead; the other homes were investigated following a tip about possible lead hazards. The agency said that the list wasn’t exhaustive and that there may be more.

Mexican Involvement in World War II
Mexico Helped Push the Allied Powers Over the Top
Everyone knows the World War II Allied Powers: the United States of America, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, Canada, New Zealand... and Mexico?
That's right, Mexico. In May of 1942, the United States of Mexico declared war on the Axis alliance. They even saw some combat: a Mexican fighter squad fought valiantly in the South Pacific in 1945. But their importance to the Allied effort was much greater than a handful of pilots and airplanes.
It is unfortunate that Mexico’s significant contributions are often overlooked. Even before their official declaration of war, Mexico closed its ports to German ships and submarines: had they not, the effect on US shipping might have been disastrous. Mexico’s industrial and mineral production was an important part of the US effort, and the economic importance of the thousands of farm workers manning the fields while the American men were away cannot be overstated. Also, let us not forget that while Mexico officially only saw a bit of aerial combat, thousands of Mexican grunts did fight, bleed, and die for the Allied cause, all the while wearing an American uniform.

Fentanyl, Nitrogen Gas, Firing Squad: Why States Are Adopting New, and Reviving Old, Execution Methods
As states struggle to obtain traditional lethal injection drugs, some are turning to new methods of execution, or reviving old ones, as a backup.
Death penalty opponents were horrified on Tuesday when Nebraskabecame the first state in the union to carry out an execution using the painkiller fentanyl, which has been a driving force of the deadly opioid epidemic.
Some critics objected to the use of “a drug that’s currently ravaging our communities and killing thousands of Americans a year,” as Democratic New York City Council Speaker Corey Johnson put it on Twitter. Others, like American Civil Liberties Union attorney Brian Stull, argued that the lethal protocol for Carey Dean Moore’s death was “cruel and unusual punishment” since the state paralyzed him before injecting the fentanyl, making it harder to know if Moore felt pain.
Nebraska's unprecedented move is part of a broader pattern of states turning to new methods of execution, or reviving old ones, as a backup. This is happening because more and more of the companies producing and supplying traditional lethal injection drugs want to keep their products from being used for capital punishment.

Ben Rhodes Invokes Bin Laden To Shame Trump — Then The SEAL Who Shot Him Spoke Up
Former Obama foreign policy advisor Ben Rhodes took a shot at President Donald Trump on Wednesday after learning that the White House had revoked former CIA Director John Brennan’s security clearance.
Citing Brennan’s involvement in the raid that killed 9/11 terrorist Osama Bin Laden, Rhodes seemed to suggest that proved Brennan was above reproach.
Robert O’Neill — the SEAL Team 6 member who went public as the man who fired the shots that killed Bin Laden — fired back at Rhodes, making an apparent reference to the other operators who carried out the mission alongside him.

John Brennan was the point person for the Obama White House on the operation that killed Osama bin Laden. He knows a lot more about defending our nation than someone who uses security clearances to punish his political adversaries.

40-Year-Old Election Law That Let New Hampshire Throw Out Ballots Overturned
A federal judge has struck down as unconstitutional a 40-year-old election law that allowed local moderators in New Hampshire to toss out the absentee ballot of someone whose signature on an affidavit failed to match their completed ballot.
In a 49-page ruling, the judge said it was constitutionally flawed that the state could reject these votes without prior notice to the voter or giving that person the right to contest the decision.
U.S. District Court Judge Landya McCafferty ruled in favor of the American Civil Liberties Union of New Hampshire and three voters who had their ballots rejected in 2016.
The civil liberties group had identified nearly 800 voters who had their ballots rejected in this way in the last three general elections.

Americans continue to pile on debt
Hoover Institution Senior Fellow Ed Lazear on the impact on the U.S. economy from the mounting government debt.
The U.S. economy may be on the upswing, but many Americans are still piling up debt faster than savings.
According to Northwestern Mutual’s 2018 Planning and Progress Study, average personal debt climbed higher than $38,000. Americans were also more likely to accrue between $5,000 and $25,000 worth of debt than savings last year – with 33% having added an amount within that range to their debt levels versus 17 percent who saved.
While 20 percent of people allocate half of their income toward debt repayment, one in 10 Americans surveyed said they expected to be in debt for the rest of their lives.
Only 23 percent of people claimed to carry no debt, down five percentage points from 2017.

The Largest Health Care Union In The US Is Facing A Class Action Lawsuit Over Forced Dues
A free market labor group has filed a class action lawsuit against the largest health care worker union in the U.S. to refund millions in forced dues.
The National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation (NRWLDF) filed a lawsuit Thursday against the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) in a California district court on behalf of state employee William Hough and potentially 5,000 others, according to the NRWLDF.
“In the Foundation-won Janus decision, the Supreme Court finally upheld public sector workers’ First Amendment right to choose whether or not to support a union without the threat of being fired,” National Right to Work Foundation vice president Patrick Semmens said in a statement. “Further, the high court made it clear that fees cannot be collected without a clear waiver of First Amendment rights.”
Hough has worked for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) since 2005 but did not join the local union, instead opting to pay the union “agency fee” required from nonmembers in the VTA as a condition of employment.

Rahm Emanuel under increasing fire for linking Chicago violence and morals in minority neighborhoods
As Chicago braces for another bloody weekend, Mayor Rahm Emanuel is once again coming under fire for blaming a lack of morals in predominantly black and Hispanic neighborhoods for the recent spate of violent crime.
Emanuel, who has been mayor since 2011 and is facing growing calls to resign from members of his own party, urged locals to “be a neighbor” and “speak up” to help law enforcement pursue killers, gang members and drug dealers.
After one particularly violent weekend earlier this month when more than 70 people were shot, Emanuel deflected questions about police staffing and strategy. Instead, he ignited a firestorm when he said there needs to be a politically incorrect conversation about character and values.
“This may not be politically correct," he said, "but I know the power of what faith and family can do. … Our kids need that structure. … I am asking … that we also don’t shy away from a full discussion about the importance of family and faith helping to develop and nurture character, self-respect, a value system and a moral compass that allows kids to know good from bad and right from wrong.”

Funny Old People Who Don't Understand Facebook
Technology is constantly changing. It's nearly impossible for even the most technologically savvy web users to keep up, and it's no wonder that some members of the older generation feel a little out of their element when posting online.
Plus, even if our beloved grandmas and grandpas have mastered some aspects of social media, they tend to see the world through a different lens than their younger counterparts. This combination of a unique perspective and a lack of social media know-how leads them to pop up on our social pages with hilarious—and often wholly inappropriate—comments that leave us scratching our heads... and laughing uncontrollably!
In the "Old People of Facebook" community on Reddit, users share screenshots of the funniest Internet fails committed by their elders. While the name implies that it's all about Facebook, the subreddit focuses on faux pas from all over the web.
We'd say we love our elders in spite of these gaffs, but frankly, these funny gaffs make us love them even more.

11 Things Only Cat Owners Understand

State police helicopter performs aerial hoist of passenger aboard cruise ship in Southern Maryland
(CHESAPEAKE BAY, Md.) – A Maryland State Police helicopter crew helped rescue a sick passenger off of a cruise ship Thursday evening.
Shortly after 9:45 p.m., the United States Coast Guard – Sector Baltimore was notified by Royal Caribbean Cruise Line that they had a passenger requiring immediate medical evacuation on its Grandeur of the Seas ship. The Coast Guard requested the assistance of the Maryland State Police Aviation Command to perform an aerial extraction from the ship in order to provide medical care to one of their passengers and transport them to the nearest hospital. The Grandeur of the Sea was located in the Chesapeake Bay approximately 10 miles southwest of Tangier Island and was traveling at approximately 6 knots.
Trooper 7, the Command’s aircraft based in Saint Mary’s County Maryland, was immediately dispatched. Once the aircraft arrived over the ship, the aircrew communicated with the crew of The Grandeur of the Seas who advised they were preparing the upper deck port side to use as the hoisting area.
The crew from Trooper 7 prepared to conduct the challenging hoist using the advanced technology aboard the AW-139 aircraft. While working with the crew of The Grandeur of the Sea, the flight crew deployed the trooper/rescue technician to assess the patient and determine what resource were needed. An assessment was completed and it was determine the patient needed to be evacuated immediately with a priority transport.
The patient was safely hoisted off the ship and secured in the aircraft, at which time the medical crew transitioned to medevac mode. The patient was in critical/life-threatening condition. Advanced pre-hospital emergency care was initiated as the aircraft departed the scene for transport to MedSTAR Southern Maryland Hospital.
The Maryland State Police Aviation Command has served Maryland citizens since 1970, and operates a fleet of ten (10) AW-139 helicopters from seven (7) bases throughout Maryland on a 24/7/365 basis. Missions include medevac, law enforcement, search & rescue, homeland security, and disaster assessment. The success of rescues performed by the Aviation Command depends a great deal on the cooperative effort of local fire, rescue, EMS, law enforcement agencies, and our partners at the United States Coast Guard.

Pat Buchanan Asks: "Can America Ever Come Together Again?"
If ex-CIA Director John Brennan did to Andrew Jackson what he did to Donald Trump, he would have lost a lot more than his security clearance.
He would have been challenged to a duel and shot.
“Trump’s … performance in Helsinki,” Brennan had said, “exceeds the threshold of ‘high crimes & misdemeanors.’ It was … treasonous.”
Why should the president not strip from a CIA director who calls him a traitor the honor and privilege of a security clearance? Or is a top-secret clearance an entitlement like Social Security?
CIA directors retain clearances because they are seen as national assets, individuals whose unique experience, knowledge and judgment may be called upon to assist a president in a national crisis.
Not so long ago, this was a bipartisan tradition.
Who trashed this tradition?
Was it not the former heads of the security agencies - CIA, FBI, director of national intelligence - who have been leveling the kind of savage attacks on the chief of state one might expect from antifa?
Are ex-security officials entitled to retain the high privileges of the offices they held, if they descend into cable-TV hatred and hostility?
Former CIA chief Mike Hayden, in attacking Trump for separating families of detained illegal immigrants at the border, tweeted a photo of the train tracks leading into Auschwitz.
“Other governments have separated mothers and children” was Hayden’s caption.
Is that fair criticism from an ex-CIA director?

"Deeply Troubling" - Wall Street Journal Implores "What Was Bruce Ohr Doing?"
The Wall Street Journal continues to counter the liberal mainstream media's Trump Derangement Syndrome, dropping uncomfortable truth-bombs and refusing to back off its intense pressure to get to the truth and hold those responsible, accountable (in a forum that is hard for the establishment to shrug off as 'Alt-Right' or 'Nazi' or be 'punished' by search- and social-media-giants).

On Thursday, August 16, 2018, Troopers responded to Laurel Lane to check on the welfare of a 28-year-old female who lived at that residence. The victim's boyfriend had received a call from her requesting help. He believed the victim had been abducted by her estranged husband, 26-year-old Steven Smith of Smyrna.
Upon arrival at the residence, Troopers located a damaged front door and immediately checked the interior, and did not locate the victim. It was learned that the victim and Smith had an extensive domestic history and he recently threatened to kill her.
Smith's rental car was located in Holly Hills Mobile Home Park. It was learned that the victim and Smith were traveling in the victim's vehicle, in the West Virginia area. The vehicle was located traveling in West Virginia, where a traffic stop was initiated, and a pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, Smith drove over stop sticks and struck two patrol vehicles. The vehicle eventually exited the roadway and became disabled.
Smith was found deceased in the vehicle with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The victim, also located in the vehicle, indicated that Smith had abducted and assaulted her, and indicated that he was going to kill her and then kill himself.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Pentagon Whistleblower Questioned FBI Informant Stefan Halper
A Pentagon whistleblower complained in October 2016 about “outrageous” contracts that were provided to Stefan Halper, the FBI informant who spied on the Trump campaign.
The whistleblower, Adam Lovinger, was stripped of his security clearance after complaining about Halper’s contracts.
Lovinger’s lawyer says Halper’s work for the Pentagon could have provided him the cover he needed to contact the Trump campaign.
Over a year before Stefan Halper was revealed as an FBI informant who spied on the Trump campaign, a Pentagon analyst complained to his bosses about “astronomically outrageous” contracts given to Halper, a former University of Cambridge professor.
That analyst, Adam Lovinger, has since been stripped of his security clearance; he says because he blew the whistle on the Pentagon contracts with Halper and Long Term Strategic Group (LTSG), a firm owned by a childhood friend of Chelsea Clinton’s named Jacqueline Newmyer Deal.
Lovinger flagged the contracts in 2016 to his boss James Baker, the director of the Office of Net Assessment (ONA), a small Defense Department unit known as the Pentagon’s think tank. Shortly after joining the National Security Council, Lovinger’s security clearance was revoked on May 1, 2017.
Baker, an Obama appointee, made four specific allegations against Lovinger. He claims that Lovinger made an unauthorized trip to Israel, that he took home unclassified academic papers, that he read classified documents on an airplane and that he had unauthorized contacts with the Indian government.

Volunteer Firefighters Could Air Grievances With Elected Officials
OCEAN CITY – The Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company is looking for a productive way to discuss ongoing concerns with emergency services leadership.
At an Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company (OCVFC) Board of Directors meeting last Wednesday, the board declared “no confidence” in Ocean City Fire Chief Chris Larmore. The “no confidence” vote is the first ever taken by the OCVFC board and is rooted largely in staffing concerns and requirement for paid firefighters to take on additional overtime and the increased stress being placed on the volunteer ranks as a result of the city being shorthanded.
The rift between the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company, which has been around for 100 years or more, and the paid fire and EMS divisions grew wider in February 2008 when the volunteer company threatened to leave the town of Ocean City altogether and set up shop in West Ocean City. The Mayor and Council at that time agreed to come together to hash out the differences. The OCVFC responded to the Mayor and Council’s proposal with a counterproposal that would place the volunteer company in charge of all fire-fighting responsibilities within the town, while leaving the paid fire/EMS division in charge of all medical and emergency response.
Out that rift, the Mayor and Council unanimously approved appointing Larmore as the one chief, hoping it would be a first step in unifying the fractured paid and volunteer departments. The measure was confirmed with an Memorandum of Understanding reached between the town and the OCVFC in May 2008.

Benghazi Hero Destroys 'Kool-Aid Drinker' John Brennan
Former Army Ranger, Benghazi hero and survivor Kris "Tanto" Paranto took to Twitter this week to slam former CIA director John Brennan after President Trump pulled his security clearance.

My principles are greater than clearances too John, especially when you and the @CIA kool-aid drinkers punished us for not going along with the Benghazi cover-up story in order to protect you, @HillaryClinton ‘s & @BarackObama ‘s failures. You put your politics before us.
..Or caught lying to congress OR caught spying on Pres. candidates OR caught using their positions to influence US elections OR caught fabricating stories about attacks on US personnel in Libya OR providing weapons to ISIS backed militias in Syria ..should I go on @JohnBrennan ?

Park Cottage’s Future Discussed
SALISBURY – Officials in Wicomico County have agreed to move forward with plans to either sell or demolish a dilapidated cottage in Powellville.
On Tuesday, Aug. 7, Wayne Strausburg, the county’s director of administration, came before the Wicomico County Council in an open work session to seek a course of action for a vacant cottage at Adkins Mill Park in Powellville.
“This is the cottage at Adkins Mill Park that had been rented out for quite some time,” he said. “The tenant who had been there has moved out.”
Strausburg said Assistant Parks Superintendent Mark Rickards and General Services Supervisor Pate Matthews recently inspected the park’s cottage and determined it to be in “very poor condition.” Their report included extensive mildew issues, wood rot, rust stains, broken appliances and furniture and more.

After Gillibrand left, Packnett urged attendees to their feet to take an oath directly derived from Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto. “It is our duty to fight for our freedom!” Packnett asked the crowd at the at the Washington, DC, leg of the “Rise Up for Roe Tour,” to repeat after her, claiming this oath was one she had led “every night in Ferguson.”
“It is our duty to win!” she continued. “We must love and support one another!”

Assateague Horse Humanely Euthanized
ASSATEAGUE - The wild horse struck by a vehicle on Assateague Island on August 6 had to be humanely euthanized on Wednesday, serving as a grim reminder to visitors to obey the speed limits and give the island’s famed residents plenty of space.
Around 9 p.m. on Monday, August 6, a two-year-old stallion known as Adriana’s Yankee Prince was struck by a motor vehicle on Assateague along the Route 611 causeway closest to the entry to the barrier island where many of the famed wild horses tend to congregate. Adriana’s Yankee Prince was found to have a swollen left hind leg, but was placing full weight on it and foraging without much difficulty at the time.
In addition, the injured horse had a small laceration on its left rib cage. Despite the injuries, Adriana’s Yankee Prince was monitored closely by the National Park Service and was expected early on to make a recovery. However, the horse was reported down in the saltmarsh and unable to stand early Wednesday morning. As a result, Adriana’s Yankee Prince had to be humanely euthanized on Wednesday.
The loss brings the total population of wild horses on the Maryland side of Assateague Island to 78, including 20 mares and 58 stallions. Two additional horses- Braidwood and Dani- were reported missing or presumed dead after the July census. The ideal population range for the wild horses on Assateague is 80-100,

Jim Kunstler Exposes The Democratic Party's "Three-Headed Monster"
The faction that used to be the Democratic party can be described with some precision these days as a three-headed monster driving the nation toward danger, darkness, and incoherence.
Anyone interested in defending what remains of the sane center of American politics take heed:
The first head is the one infected with the toxic shock of losing the 2016 election. The illness took hold during the campaign that year when the bureaucracy under President Obama sent its lymphocytes and microphages in the “intel community” — especially the leadership of the FBI — to attack the perceived disease that the election of Donald Trump represented. The “doctors” of this Deep State diagnosed the condition as “Russian collusion.” An overdue second opinion by doctors outside the Deep State adduced later that the malady was actually an auto-immune disease.
The agents actually threatening the health of the state came from the intel community itself: Mr. Brennan, Mr. Clapper, Mr. Comey, Mr. Strzok, Mr. McCabe, Mr. Ohr, Ms. Yates. Ms. Page, et. al. who colluded with pathogens in the DNC, the Hillary campaign, and the British intel service to chew up and spit out Mr. Trump as expeditiously as possible. With the disease now revealed by hard evidence, the chief surgeon called into the case, Robert Mueller, is left looking ridiculous — and perhaps subject to malpractice charges — for trying to remove an appendix-like organ called the Manifort from the body politic instead of attending to the cancerous mess all around him. Meanwhile, the Deep State can’t stop running its mouth — The New York Times, CNN, WashPo, et al — in an evermore hysterical reaction to the truth of the matter: the Deep State itself colluded with Russia (and perhaps hates itself for it, a sure recipe for mental illness).
The second head of this monster is a matrix of sinister interests seeking to incite conflict with Russia in order to support arms manufacturers, black box “security” companies, congressmen-on-the-take, and an army of obscenely-rewarded Washington lobbyists in concert with the military and a rabid neocon intellectual think-tank camp wishing to replay the cold war and perhaps even turn up the temperature with some nuclear fire. They are apparently in deep confab with the first head and its Russia collusion storyline. Note all the current talk about Russia already meddling in the 2018 midterm election, a full-fledged pathogenic hallucination.

Early Review of New Inlet Lot System Reveals Tweaks Needed
OCEAN CITY – Positive outcomes, issues and concerns relating to the Inlet parking lot’s new pay-by-plate system were presented to a resort committee this week.
On Tuesday, City Engineer Terry McGean presented the Ocean City Transportation Committee with an evaluation of the resort’s new Parkeon payment system at the Inlet.
Prior to the start of the summer season, the Inlet parking lot’s traditional gated system was replaced with a new pay-by-plate system, in which drivers entering the lot can use any one of the many kiosks to enter their license plate information and to pay for the amount of time they expect to use. The new payment system also employs license plate reader technology at the Inlet’s entrance and exit that records arrival and departure times.
As the summer season comes to a close, resort officials in Ocean City this week received a preliminary review of how the new Parkeon payment system fared throughout peak months at the Inlet parking lot.

Governor Larry Hogan Visits Ocean City Landmarks
Presents Governor’s Citations Honoring the History and Importance of Local Businesses to Maryland’s Economy
ANNAPOLIS, MD - Governor Larry Hogan today presented citations to three iconic Ocean City businesses that have been contributing to the Eastern Shore and Maryland’s economy for decades, including Trimper’s Rides and Amusements, which is celebrating 125 years as the oldest family-owned and operated amusement park in the U.S.
“The Ocean City boardwalk and these enterprises are incredible Maryland business success stories,” said Governor Hogan. “Like many Marylanders, I have so many great memories of each of these places, along with the rest of the boardwalk. Earlier this summer, I had the chance to bring my grandson here for the very first time, and I look forward to bringing all of my grandchildren here for many years to come. We wish all of these businesses continued growth and success for generations; they have changed the Town of Ocean City for the better.”
Thrasher’s French Fries has been open in Ocean City since 1929 and focused on making the best fry possible. Quality and attention to detail has made it a boardwalk favorite for nearly 90 years.
A nostalgic boardwalk icon, Marty's Playland is more than just a video arcade, it’s a part of Ocean City history with one of the largest game and prize selections around. Marty's Playland arcade has been entertaining Ocean City residents and visitors since the 1940s.
Trimper’s Rides and Amusements is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year and is a central part of the Trimper family story that began in Ocean City in 1890. The Trimper family has played important roles in other Ocean City businesses and for the city itself, with various members of the family serving as city council members and as mayors of Ocean City.
The governor also attended the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) Crab Feast and will deliver the closing address for the MACo Summer Conference on Saturday morning.
Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver Announces Modifications to the Fruitland Convenience Center
Salisbury, MD... The work is completed at the Fruitland Convenience Center (Walnut Tree Road). The modifications relocated the recycle bins outside the locked fence area which now gives the public 24/7 access to recycling in the southern central part of the County. The site is equipped with safety lighting and surveillance cameras to discourage illegal dumping.
This revised location is the County's response to losing the Fruitland Town Hall location approximately 1 ½ years ago and more recently the Salisbury University location.

Pompeo establishes Iran Action Group
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday named senior policy adviser Brian Hook as Washington’s special representative for Iran, Reuters reported.
Hook will lead a newly established Iran Action Group to coordinate the State Department’s pressure campaign on Iran, Pompeo was quoted as having told a news conference.
Hook, who has pushed for tough action against Iran, has been leading the department’s talks with allies in Europe and Asia to persuade them to support U.S. sanctions and cut off Iran’s oil supplies as of November.
“The Iran Action Group will be responsible for directing, reviewing and coordinating all aspects of the State Department’s Iran-related activity, and will report directly to me,” Pompeo said, according to Reuters.
“We are committed to a whole-of-government effort to change the Iranian regime’s behavior, and the Iran Action Group will ensure that the Department of State remains closely synchronized with our inter-agency partners,” he added.

BREAKING: Facebook completely censors our videos
Worse than Shadow Banning, Facebook Completely Censors PragerU Posts from Public View
We recently discovered that Facebook deleted two video posts from the PragerU page for “hate speech,” and subsequently censored 15 more posts from public view - meaning zero of our 3 million followers could see these posts.
Screenshot from one of the two removed videos for "hate speech" - a video about why we need more masculine men.
While we’ve experienced blatant discrimination from Google/YouTube, which is why we’ve filed legal action against them, this represents a whole new level of censorship by Facebook.
While we’ve experienced blatant discrimination from Google/YouTube, which is why we’ve filed legal action against them, this represents a whole new level of censorship by Facebook.
Not only are they obviously ratcheting up their algorithms to target mainstream, conservative content and labeling it as hate speech, but they are now completely blocking our posts from public view. This is shocking and it should deeply concern every single American.
We reached out to Facebook and their initial response provided little clarity saying they would get back to us in another two to three business days, which in the world of social media might as well be an eternity.
However, after media attention on the issue started to gain traction - Facebook finally responded after 24 hours saying that removing the videos was simply a “mistake.”
Does anyone really believe that removing two videos as “hate speech” and subsequently censoring 15 more entirely from the public was simply a mistake?
It’s not a mistake. It’s deliberate censorship of conservative ideas - especially effective platforms like PragerU as we continue to reach millions of young people with our videos.
It’s imperative that we continue to fight back, stronger than ever before.
WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED.
SEAL Takes Out Brennan Clearance Defenders
Some Democrats and the whole chorus of their MSM public relations network are feigning great outrage over Donald Trump’s decision to revoke John Brennan’s security clearance.
Why? Well, the list is long, but allow me to highlight the top three reasons.
First, Brennan is a political hack. During his tenure under Barack Obama at the CIA, Brennan used his position to provide Obama political cover for Benghazi ahead of his 2012 reelection bid, and by extension provided Hillary Clinton cover for her 2016 bid. Obama awarded him with CIA directorship in March 2013.
Second, did I mention he is a political hack? In 2016, Brennan and ex-FBI Director James Comey orchestrated the fake Trump/Putin collusion charade to ensure Trump would not be elected.
Third, he then, to put it kindly, “misled Congress” in testimony regarding numerous issues.
And finally, after the election of Trump, Brennan was elevated to Leftmedia “analyst” with NBC News and MSNBC, and all of his black-bag bias against Republicans and Trump has been spewing out through his social media accounts, effectively betraying him for the political hack he has always been.

"Brennen is one of the most dispicable..."
U.S President Trump revoked the security clearance of former CIA Director John Brennan.
Good. It is probably the best things Trump has ever done. Brennan is one of the most despicable former U.S. officials alive. He should rot in hell instead of making money off his former status.
Besides that there is no sound reason why anyone who does not work for the government, directly or indirectly, should have a clearance and thereby access to state secrets. ACLU and others are wrong in this. Revoking or keeping a security clearance has nothing to do with free speech or first amendment rights.
Abu Jihad Brennan was the CIA's station chief in Saudi Arabia when the Khobar Towers were bombed. Al-Qaedadid it, but Brennan was helpful in blaming the attack on Hizbullah and Iran. He was deputy executive director of the CIA on 9/11. That 9/11 happened was an intelligence failure or, as some have it, an incident arranged by the deep state. Brennan was CIA chief of staff while the agency concocted false stories about Iraqi WMD. He was within the command line that ran the CIA torture program. It was Brennan who conspired with the Gulf dictators to hire Jihadis to destroy Libya and to attempt the same in Syria. In short - the man was always ruthless, incompetent and dishonest.
When Obama became president he wanted to make Brennan Director of the CIA. The Democrats in Congress were opposed to that. Obama then made him his high priest of targeted killings. After Obama's reelection, Brennan finally became director. He ordered the CIA to spy on the Congress committee investigating CIA torture. He lied to Congress under oath when he denied that it had happened. When it was proven that the CIA did what it did, he had to apologize.
At that time a Washington Post editorial headlined Obama should fire John Brennan. Today the Post calls the revocation of a security clearance of a former official, who -it had opined- should have long been fired, a "political vendetta against a career intelligence officer". Hypocrites.
Most important was "Brennan’s ringleader role in the so-far unsuccessful attempts to derail Trump, both before and after the 2016 election. As far as we can tell it was Brennan who concocted and launched the conspiracy to insinuate that Trump is connected with alleged Russian influence. Brennan bet that Hillary Clinton would win the election. He lost his bet and is now out in the cold. He fears that his role, especially his conspiring with British security services and with the Steele dossier, will come to light.

Border Wall Construction Progresses in New Mexico
New Mexico is progressing on its 20-mile border wall construction west of Santa Teresa, replacing old posts and rail barriers as part of President Donald Trump’s initiative to halt illegal immigration and drug trafficking.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said more than 8,100 panels stretching over 11 miles were built as of Aug. 8, according to the Associated Press Friday.
“It’s going to be harder to get over, harder to get through, harder to get underneath,” Chief Patrol Agent Aaron Hull of the El Paso sector told the Albuquerque Journal on April 9. “It’s going to have a five-foot, anti-scaling plate at the top.”
The barrier will be as tall as 18 feet in some areas, depending on the location. The “wall of steel” was approved in 2017 and construction of the $73.3 million project began April 9, the Journal reported.

Special ops shoot down Brennan and his defenders
John Brennan rallied numerous high-powered defenders to his corner over his security clearance clash with President Trump, but some well-known special ops heroes are firing back suggesting the former CIA director got what he deserves.
Kris “Tanto” Paronto, a former Army Ranger and private security contractor who was part of the CIA team that fought back during the 2012 Benghazi terror attack, accused Brennan of putting his “politics” before those in the field.
“He is lucky the security clearance is all he is getting away with,” Paronto told Fox News in an interview on Friday.
Responding a day earlier to Brennan’s tweet that his “principles are worth far more than clearances,” Paronto also tweeted:
“My principles are greater than clearances too John, especially when you and the @CIA kool-aid drinkers punishes us for not going along with the Benghazi cover-up story in order to protect you, @HillaryClinton’s & @BarackObama’s failures. You put your politics before us.”
