With All Due Respect, It's Time The City of Salisbury Remove This Image From Their Home Page

When you go to the city of Salisbury's Facebook page, this is the image that pops up. While we ALL loved Bull, he did in fact take his own life and now Mayor Jake Day is plastering Bull everywhere you turn, on line or in person. Now Jake may want HIS children growing up thinking it's OK for a hero cop to take his own life, I firmly disagree.

Bull took the cowards way out of life and is certainly no hero. Especially if you actually knew HOW Bull took his own life and Jake Day wouldn't DARE tell the public what he did. Instead, just like a typical Liberal, cover the truth up and memorialize what that Liberal wants you to think and believe.

  1. I for one would like to know the fact's as well. Better than misinformed innuendos.

  4. I don't think he could have been competent when he did it. That said, I think glorifying could encourage teens and young people to do copycat suicides. There is a reason that suicides often come in clusters. Stop the publicity.

  5. Not like it's a secret. We all know what he did.

  6. I agree with the removal of the photo, but I don’t think the details of how Bull took his life are anyone’s business but his family and those involved. I don’t know nor do I care. Anyone who puts a badge and gun on and defends the public with honor in today’s society is a hero. He did do that. If you know, then you know and if you don’t, then you don’t need to know.

    1. 2:57- I agree with you. No one really thinks suicide is "OK" or something to be celebrated. However, we don't know what he was struggling with, whether it be a horrific moment of panic, or a long period of depression. People who get to this awful state cannot see ahead to have hope for the future. It's not cowardly, it's mental illness.
So saying that a long time policeman, who literally put his life on the line for us everyday he went into work, as "a coward" and "no hero" is not appropriate. This is frankly no better than the antics of the Salisbury officials.

  8. I truly can't comprehend how bad it must be for someone to do this. Suicide is a very selfish act and for Jake Day to continue with his irrational behavior speaks volumes about the city of Salisbury government and the mindset that apparently is prevalent. There's NO NO need to keep a post in reference to this man up now that the situation has passed.

  9. We'll miss him, but his smiling photos need to be removed from those active SPD and Salisbury internet sites. Let us all heal and remember him without being reminded.

  10. I don't think it is any ones business what happened or how to this man. Those circumstances had nothing to do with his public life job and service to the community.

  11. Salisbury used and marketed him and will continue to do so.

  12. No, not everyone who puts on a badge and a gun is a hero. Get over yourselves.

  13. If anything, the photos bring awareness that everyday people may be struggling with depression or other mental illness. I do not think his photos being posted celebrates suicide, rather it brings a healthy awareness that our neighbors, family members, children, coworkers, ect. may be suffering in ways that go unseen. Suicide is oftentimes a symptom of serious illness and isn't akin to being a coward.

  14. I feel this sends a mixed message to the youth who are not even aloud a moment of silence when a classmate dies in fear of glorifying their suicide and yet hear we are with candle light vigils bumper stickers, Christmas ornaments, coffee cups and roads named after him. It is time take it down.

  15. Hero? No way in hell. It's just a 9-5 job just like everyone else has. We are all trained to do the job we do, but no one calls us hero's. I have seen them break driving laws that they stop people for and give tickets to them. I have seen them use their emergency lights to run red lights before. My sister and her husband was friends with a State Trooper who would come visit them and get drunk as hell and then drive home. But they said when he was sober he was strict as hell with people when on duty. Two faced scum bag.

  16. 2:30 What exactly do you do if you do not mind me asking. The police, military, and Fire and EMS are not Heroes every day but some days they truly are. These people run into situations other run away from. If you are being robbed at gunpoint do you want your neighborhood plumber to respond {nothing against plumbers you are all bad a**es} The point I am making you mouth breather is until you walk in these men and women that serve you really can not judge them. I strongly feel you were arrested or denied duty in any service. As for those calling Aaron a coward I strongly disagree with you. Selfish act under duress I think yes but a coward no. In a split second he made a choice and now he is gone. The man did tons of public service work and a lot of it on his own time. How about you 2:30 ever done anything for anyone that did not benefit you. I think we all know the answer to that.

Police suicide and military are at a all time high. The sad fact is they teach you skills like shooting, hand to hand combat, make you test regularly to evaluate your physical fitness. What they do not due is check on your mental health. If you do seek mental health the administrations are faced with a serious dilemma and liability. Hence why they just do not do it. They can not put an officer out there with a gun if he or she have mental health issue or they are heavily medicated. Numerous soldiers and first responders have crashed and burned due to the lack of assistance. They love you when you are out there crushing it. They treat you like a pariah when you seek help. So 230 it is in no way a 9-5 job as you put it they work in all weather 24/7 no holidays. They can not run away from life and death situations. Then they have to deal with people like you daily. There is not enough money in the world to do what first responders do. So they are not heroes every day just most days. God Bless the men and women serving this country. God Bless all first responders. R.I.P. Bull.
