Kobach on Welfare: Drug Test for Food Stamps, No Benefits for Illegals

Kansas Secretary of State and GOP nominee for governor Kris Kobach’s populist welfare reform initiative includes mandatory drug testing for food stamp recipients and ending all public benefits for illegal aliens.

On Wednesday, Kobach — endorsed by President Trump — laid out his welfare reform agenda, which includes saving Kansas taxpayer money by requiring able-bodied Medicaid beneficiaries to work no less than 30 hours a week.

The plan will also require drug testing for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) — otherwise known as food stamps — recipients and for Medicaid users.

  1. Why are people so brainwashed in thinking poor people are the problem. If you could fathom how much of an issue war spending and corporate subsidies including those to banks were it would blow your mind. Mcconnel is chanting welfare is 70 percent of the spending and it is a bold faced lie. The majority of our federal budget goes to military spending corporate subsidies and servicing debt.

  2. Biased testing that will accelerate heroin and cocaine use as it leaves your body in as soon as 24 hrs in urinalysis. States are not gonna play for blood sampling

    Wrong!

Welfare is a direct payment out of the treasury. A subsidy is a slight reduction of taxes.

How can you be so wrong? You must be a liberal retard!

  4. You have it all wrong. I hate welfare because it creates lazy uneducated individuals with no desire to get out of bed and go to work to support your family. Pay taxes so those who are really poor can be helped to get back into society. I believe welfare is good for a working individual who has lost a job. But it should be temporary not generation after generation receiving welfare.
