A Miami prison has uncovered a corrections officer's alleged smuggling scheme in which inmates paid him for contraband including McDonald's hamburgers.
Gary West Alford, a 23-year veteran of the Metro West Detention Center, was arrested on Thursday along with his wife and alleged accomplice Shantica Anastacia Alford, 31.
Prosecutors say an inmate paid Shantica Alford $500 through a smartphone app in exchange for a delivery of McDonald’s Quarter Pounder hamburgers and lemon-pepper chicken wings into the jail, according to the Miami Herald.
Gary Alford is facing 14 charges of unlawful compensation and introducing contraband into a county detention facility, while his wife is facing seven counts of introducing contraband.
They are both scheduled to appear in court on November 26.

That's all Mickey D is good for - prison food. Good idea. And you can have the same people who work at Mickey D's to serve.
ReplyDeleteshantica?? obviously black and $500 for a McDonalds cholesteral and fat burger? prisoners seem to be doing better financially than hard working honest tax payers who are footing the bill to keep them in prison.
