Where are all the young snowflakes?

A tremendous shout-out to Red Door Sub Shop for donating an entire crew's worth of delicious lunch to our volunteers yesterday! Our community is coming together in such a big way for the National Folk Festival in Salisbury, MD! #NFFMaryland #SBY#SBYNEWS Downtown Salisbury

Same people different day........where are the rest of the volunteers?
Thank you so much Ponzetti's Pizza & Subs for donating lunch for our volunteers! We have some well-fed people setting up the National Folk Festival in Salisbury, MD! 😁😁😁 #NFFMaryland

Publishers Notes: We commend these volunteers BUT where are all these so called volunteers Jake Day and the media are claiming signed up? Where are all the people from the rainbow crosswalks? Like we've been trying to tell you, the Mayor is lying when it comes to how many real volunteers they have. I'll add, can you imagine in this heat what the grass is going to smell like with the goose poop AND the flies that will be hanging around. OMG!

  1. Ha! Young? Did they really think young people would come out to this? Firefly festival it ain't. Look at where its promoted- i heard commercials on wscl which Ill wager no "young people" ever listen to...the folk festival will just be a few stinky old hippies wandering around

The young are always saying how much they give to the community, yet they never show up to HELP the community. It guess it was too hot to leave their parents basement to go work in the heat.

  4. Didn't see Jake Day there either. Or his beer drinking cronies. I guess they should have hosted a volunteer happy hour instead.

  6. I'm confused. Why do you expect the younger people to assist with a festival that we all think will fail, as far as the needed numbers? Also, has any one of you ridiculing these kids volunteer yet?

Exactly which way do you want it? Bash the festival or bash the younger crowd for not volunteering for the festival you don't want?

It is becoming apparent those complaining about millennials on this particular thread are just trolls who will find a way to complain at anything or anyone, because they have nothing better to do.

  10. Where is Jakie boy? Why isn't he out there giving them a hand. Oh yeah, he might break a nail. He gets people to volunteer to do the work while he is off spending more of the tax payers money.

  12. Judging from the average age of this bunch they could have just called Meals on Wheels and spared local vendors.

  13. Maybe the younger people are working at a day job. These folks in the photo look like they may be retirees who have all day to volunteer.

  14. What a motley crew will they be cleaned up in time for the festival?

  15. Here is an opinion from a young "snowflake". The reason no one from my generation volunteered is simple. Salisbury is mostly left with people from my generation that are bottom of the barrel in quality. All the ones who are educated and holds a degree or even just a trade left for greener pastures. Salisbury also has no attraction for people other places to come here. There is very little reason to stay in Salisbury, but many reasons to leave.

P.S. Before offering me the moving truck for free, I must say that I already left several years ago.

  16. 7:17 i dont know if you are a snowflake or not but what you say is truth. The Democrat snowflakes are destroying cities across this nation. Salisbury is no different. There is nothing for a educated young person to stay here for. If you leave to go to college you cannot return. There is nothing to return for outside of friends and family. No good paying jobs to justify that student loan that you will have to repay. You are 100% on point.

  17. That's not really a fair analysis. Yes some people leave Salisbury for a city type of life. Where there are many upper class restaurants and theatres. However, there are individuals with families who were born an raised in the area. They like living in Salisbury. Nothing wrong with that. I know of individuals who left and came back for whatever reason. Salisbury is not my cup of tea but for some it is - that's okay. I moved because of high taxes and didn't see any changes coming soon. The way private communities are run financially is a crime but the MD gov't gives them the upper hand. Most do the bare and switch. Some of you know exactly who I am referring too. Do move but don't critize those who choose to stay.

  21. Jake was too busy over at the VIP party Mike Dunn threw on county funds for the "pre-festival" kickoff party. Dunn and Day were too busy kissing Hogan's ass and trying to feel relevant

  22. Those aren't volunteers, they're NFF paid staff hippies.
