John McCain: Warm remembrances of roads not taken, or taken and now abandoned

Warm remembrances of John McCain have been filling the political air since his death last weekend. They’ll continue through his the memorial service in Phoenix, his funeral Saturday at Washington’s National Cathedral, and his interment at the Naval Academy cemetery in Annapolis Sunday.

Praise has been voiced by longtime political foes, admiration from recent detractors and recollections of his (self- and other-) deprecating wit from those long close to him.

Why this outpouring of admiration for a politician who was far from universally admired by members of his own party, and whose positive commentary went suddenly silent when he became — or strongly supported — the Republican nominee for president?

  1. His true legacy will come out but the MSM will never tell it. It is a shame that he is memorialized on a pedestal with half facts. Then the Politians and Family members criticize our President and others who were true to the US values. Shame Anarchist had to show there extremist ways. This was a disservice to the man they were trying to enhance his legacy

#1 He left his wife bc she got into a bad car accident
#2 They covered up his Hotshot actions onboard the SS Forrester were 134 Sailors were killed
#3 His Daddy and Grandfather's Covered it up.
#4 He didn't help ANYONE onboard the SS Forrester
#5 He received $ from the Saudis.

And that's only the stuff that's known so don't cry me a river.

  3. It ran deeper than politics .......he showed people his heart. If you argue with someone and never forgive them...shortly you will have no friends. He had a huge heart.

    2. His heart was so large he asked PRESIDENT TRUMP to stay away. But CLINTON and OBAMA are fine?? John McCain was a spoiled POS that should be in Leavenworth.

  4. Good riddance. Hope taxpayers didn't pay for all his memorials. This goes to show you he was for McCain and not the American people by spending money for an extravent departure. Sorry that he was a vietnVi prisoner, however, many Americans never returned to the U.S for any funeral.

After it was requested, the good president gave them Air Force II to shuttle the dude in First Class.

My bet is there will not be a statement sent out for payment because taxpayers have it covered. You try asking for it. Some that are on our clock are above us.
