Excused absences may be on the way for Montgomery Co. students who attend protests
WASHINGTON — Montgomery County high school students who miss class to attend organized protests or other civic activities during the school day are one step closer to having such absences excused.
It’s not a done deal, but Montgomery County Public Schools’ board members voted unanimously for preliminary approval of the proposed policy change at their meeting on Sept. 11.
If the proposed policy changes get final approval, public school students in the county would get up to three excused absences per academic year for civic engagement.
They are children with a CHILD'S MENTALITY! So, absolutely NOT! If Demoncrats like yourself had COMMON SENSE YOU wouldn't either. You all are just SICK and DISGUSTING TRASH!
9:38 They can protest all they want. There are 365 days in a year and they are required to go to school for 180 days that leaves more than enough days they can protest on their own time. This should NOT be an excused absence.
The dumbest thing I have ever heard. Miss school to protest and act like an ass. Brilliant! Montgomery liberal county! I bed if Obama was still in office and a conservative wanted to protest him, this would never fly.
Should be interesting if a student chooses to protest a LIBERAL cause...will they still get the free pass? I seriously doubt it...seems like a great basis for a massive lawsuit...
