Ambulance Struck By Vehicle Heading To PRMC

A vehicle just struck an ambulance coming from Pocomoke heading to PRMC. Another ambulance, (Fruitland) had to come in and complete the transport.

  1. Trying not to judge - but other than a medical emergency how does this happen?

  2. I know you clowns will run yuor mouth, but more than likely it was the driver of the whambulance who would be at fault in my opinion... They are the ones who drive speeding through intersections and every thing... Just becasue you have lights or sirens, doesn't mean people can see them or hear them, it is their, the whambulances responsibility to drive accordingly, and all of you people keep forgetting that, you think just becasue he is a cop or EMT or some first responder they should get special privilege, even if it cost people their life when in other situations it wouldn't come to that...

  3. Want to bet the idiot was texting while driving?

  4. Not sure why this occurred, but I see a lot more drivers with ear buds in and still see people texting and driving. To many distractions today.

  6. People have no respect for emergency vehicles. Twice this summer I pulled over on Mt. Hermon road for an oncoming Ambulance, and the idiots behind me blew their horns. With one fool trying to squeeze between me and the on coming ambulance.
I also witnessed a girl pull right in front of an ambulance at the intersection of College Ave. and Eastern Shore drive. Siren was on the ambulance and all lights flashing. The girl was on her cell phone and never even noticed what she'd done it appeared.
Respect goes to first responders. That could be you in that ambulance.

That is exactly what I was thinking. Just because you are driving an emergency vehicle with lights and siren doesn't give you the right to cause an accident. Unfortunately most police officers and judges give the "first responder" the break.

As a long time career employee of the Salisbury Fire Department I can attest that nearly ALL of the wrecks involving their apparatus the driver of said apparatus was at fault.

Ask Chris O'Barsky, he wrecked to staff vehicles and most recently the newest Assistant Chief vehicle. I think that wreck was last year and the SUV the city taxpayers purchased for the fire department cost over $100,000
